@@fankeek I thought the blitzkrieg was the name of the offensive against Poland. The Ardennes offensive was anything but a lightning war. It was a gruelling grind which lasted over a month. Which is a lot considering the area isn't that big

Put up your defenses, wait out the enemy until they are comfortable, then strike them from behind. They never would have anticipated that. They thought they had the game in the bag, until you hit the town. Then they panicked and became disorganized.

2 years later and I am enjoying this so much again!! I LOVE SUPERFOBS! I love superfobs from watching Karmakut's superfob videos before I bought Squad in 2020 :P

First time playing in a while and my squad was tasked with defending the trenches beside airfield on that map. And its the best thing ever we had two heavy machine guns and two mortars and if one person was spotted the whole trench light up.

I think it would be cool to see squad have certain matches where you have to defend your base and it be a larger style base where the enemy could maneuver and hit you from multiple points. I play alot of Call to Arms Gates of Hell:Ostfront and you play an attack mission then a defensive mission. You can build one man foxholes etc and think it would be really cool to see squad so something similar to that.

People reckon superfob dont work but it still does with the right contingencies set up. But tbh it should be mid not your own side of mid.
I mistakenly joined a super fob squad once, spent like 40 minutes doing nothing but shoveling and then it got wrecked in 10 minutes... I'm glad people can find fun in it but I'd rather maneuver and get in to fire fights

Arma3 vs Squad
I love both games and I have to say they are really different
Arma is more realistic in that aspect but it is really hard to get into. Not only because of the controls which can be confusing even for me (I have around 2000+ hours) but also because it's hard to find people to play with. But one thing is for sure if you find people to play with you will have found friends for live.
Squad on the other hand is more casual, it is still realistic and I had a lot of fun in that game but let me warn you that in that game your fun is decided by how good your Squad Leader is. I had lots of times where I just up and left a game because the SL was toxic, outright bad or in my opinion the worst just a unlucky guy who joined in a squad that was opened by someone who didn't want to be SL. (Not the guy's fault and it has somewhat lessened from a couple of years ago)
Despite that I would recommend squad more to someone who can't dedicate a entire evening (2-6 hours) for a "short" round of Arma. I would also say that squad is more of the beginner game when it comes to milsim meaning easy to learn hard to master meanwhile Arma is more of a hard to learn even harder to master.
Personally I started with Arma 3 around 2014 and have played that game on and off ever since, the new Viatnam DLC wich was just announced a couple of days ago made me hiped for it again and I will definitely buy it. I thing I picked up Squad around 2016/17 and played it a bit. Back then I still had my old laptop wich ment around 20-30fps. (but surprisingly a solid 15-20fps in Arma) It must also be sayed that I think Arma is still fun whether 60fps or 15fps meanwhile in squad you need a solid 45+fps to really have fun. That is because in Arma you do much more than just fight you sometimes just drive or walk around for hours upon end without anything happening you just walk with your buddies talk a bit and flip your vehicle because you touched something while driving 5km/h but that are the funniest moment I had in all my time gaming, sure I remember when I faced of the entire police force in altis live with only two buddies but the best moments where always like that, a long pause where we prepared for a fight talked with each other drove over the complete map and then had a standoff with some other group. One time my friends and I where preparing a bank robbery and where flying to our hideout when a police helicopter EMPed us and we had to crash land in the middle of nowhere and fight them off and that was about four years ago and I remember it like yesterday. In squad you don't have such moments or at least they aren't so memorable that you still remember them years later.
Wow that was long anyway hope I helped you sorry for its length but talking about masterpieces of games like Arma and squad just takes you away and I hope that whatever game you buy you will have fun :D

Love how people tend to hate SUPERFOB, when its actually the most tactical thing to do.
Specially if you can have 2 other squad ready to flank the enemy, becaue tey will have tunnerl vision towards the SUPERFOB/FLAG.
Nonplusultra, its creating the chaotic experince in the game, when u hear lmg-s shooting without stopping, mortars, tows, logis coming in all the time, helis dropping supplies all the time.

I always SL seriousl,y with appointed FTL's, and compostions.
Like Bravo attack along green arrows, Charlie suppres enemy, cover Bravo.
All the time, my random pubbers tell me, they had a blast, and the most SQUAD experience ever...
Cinematic stuff, like Im asking 2 other APC to drive my guys into the enemy cap with a lead APC in front, popping smoke and just full autoshoot enemy in the cap. They love it.

ATGM's should be used like snipers. This was not the original tactic but this has been adopted by the US Army.
This tactic is extremely effective.
A suberfob implacement would be awesome you would have two options a big one or a small one then I team could put it in the middle of a open space and close a part of a map off

As a veteran, I'd rather take a hasty defense position behind a tree in the woods than shoot from sandbags in an open field. An open field gives no cover nor concealment to retrograde.
as a vetern, I'm aware it's a video game and you just contradicted yourself when you said sandbags in an open field don't offer cover. sandbags are literal cover but a forest offers concealment with minimal/no cover.
@@sawyernovak703 not contradict anything. Open field sandbags are only good against small arms fire, nothing else. You treat them like a bunker to take them out. You setup those sandbags in the tree line and you may not get seen if camouflaged. Besides, in the open area behind sandbags, where do you run to if getting overrun, mortared, or flanked in an open area when you have no other cover or concealmeant to run too? You die in place or in the open. I know it's a game, but I spent 16 yrs in the airborne infantry. If I can offer help, I will.
@@monkeystank5241 concealment doesn’t really do much if you turn your graphics to the lowest possible settings. Bushes and trees betray you. At least in squad sandbags can have murder holes to keep you almost entirely bullet proof. And even harder to see. The enemy doesn’t know which murder hole you will poke through and they have to go through their RPG’s and 30m’s to take out your sandbags, and after they shoot just one of them you know where they are but they just took out one sandbag emplacement maybe 2 out of the 25 you could have. Sandbags in squad are a good friend to have.
