2023 14 years later a black kid from Compton CA never experienced the love understanding and appreciation I experienced from the EDM community. I am forever grateful for this song being binded to the best memories of my life.
@MaaniGoldleaf-kj5wl I wish I can say I felt the same. t brainwashed and poisoned the community. Being surrounded by so much death and drugs violence it becomes sickening when its the anthem to the destruction that surrounds you. They say often times art imitates life. To some people it's just music to other people it's reality. Growing up was traumatic and filled with fear. Entire neighborhoods addicted to drugs, police sirens being heard 3-4 times a day. Entire blocks wrapped in yellow tape. Police helicopters buzzing in the sky deep into the night.
Hehehe. Best years of our lives right? For me it was college, Hayward CA, in the 2010s. Good Time by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen is the anthem of that time in my life.
@@robertlombardo8437 those were the last great years of EDM in my honest opinion. 2008-2012. It's just a coincidence those just happen to be my 4 years in college 😂.. wya now what have you been up to since. Judging by ur profile pic and bio it seems like we have a lot in common
This song takes me back to a much simpler time. 2011 I was in my early 20s and listened to this while driving on a hot summer night to party with some friends. The world has changed a lot since then and I miss that time dearly.
When she breathes between the "I remember." After 10 something years and the track still feels the same when I first head it!!! Joel truly made a classic with this one!
My dad introduced this song to me when It first came out when I was 8. I'm now 20 and I still play this, sadly my dad passed and it just reminds me of the good times.
This is just too perfect. I recall listening to this on long, dark nights driving when I would have to travel hundreds of kilometers to visit my dad with terminal Cancer. He's gone now, but the words "I remember" always make me connect with Dad again.
I listened to this the day my son died. Driving home from the hospital and this came on. I cried so much that I wanted to die but this song brought back the best memories we had together. Something about this song that pulls you back, makes you think, and moves you forward.
So sorry for your loss never be the same but music helps it does for me I lost 5 family member in 6 months last year so I listen to a lot of music may this music help you through ❤️
After all these years and this is STILL my favourite modern electronic track. EDIT: It's been 3 years since I wrote this comment and nothing's changed. Masterpiece. EDIT: 2020, still my fav.
me too , it remembers me about a girl i didn't fuck. altough i had the chance, but i wanted to work out the next day and go to sleep early. now i'm buff and older and have remorse
+ChiefStyn those afterparties, all brakes loose , not a care in the world, desperate not to think of tomorrow, huge joint fumin' away, every blink of an eye confusion and then calm acceptance
This is the first deadmau5 song I ever listen to. I'll never forget the night. Me and my college roommates got really stoned and they turned on some Dubstep. I was looking through iTunes and came across deadmau5 and asked one of my roommates, "Hey, have you ever heard of dead mau five?" "Oh, you mean deadmouse? Yeah he's great man." I had to ask, "Oh really? Is he dubstep?" He then said, "Oh no dude. He's way more chill. Check this shit out." He packed another bowl and put on this song with surround sound, looked at me and said, "It's like you're chilling through the galaxy, dude." I never wanted that song to end.
It's 2024, this beat is 15yr old and still feels like it's from future. Maybe in 2040, someone will comment, no way it can't be from 2008. I'm so mesmerized by the synchronization of the beats which ages with times, never felt old for a sec.
This song is PERFECT for every emotion and state. It reminds me of my niece Stephanie who passed away two years ago. It helps me to reframe everything.
Thank you for this, I didn't see this and I have felt terribly sad about the whole ordeal lately. My WHOLE FAMILY IS EXTREMELY UNWELL. She chose to leave this life darkly and she was spiritual so what happened? I'm working on jewelry in her name and it is magnificent. So please send good vibes our way. Thank you!!!@@taik.7192
I remember when I heard this back in 2009 as a teenager with my wired Skull Candy headphones - this song relaxed me to my entirety and helped me escape a life I didn't realize was traumatic. This song is a breath of fresh air
This song moves my entire soul. The notes are just so packed with emotion. I remember being 14 and depressed sitting on my bed listening to this not knowing where I’d be. I was thinking of ending my life, but God kept me. If you’re struggling with depression, just know that you’re not alone 🥺❤️ I love y’all. Have a good day, month, or year! It’s all going to get better ❤️
Music like this needs to come back. I remember being a kid and wishing I could grow up to go to some clubs to dance to this type of music. Music today is nowhere near as euphoric or sensational as it was 10/15 years ago
Yeah I totally agree with ya. Songs that blow up nowadays will be big one week and forgotten the next. Hit songs from the early 2000's are still be playing till this day.
Found this song on the nightclub mission in Goldeneye for Wii. Then I heard it at my gym this morning and discovered it's an actual song and is amazing. Hooray.
It is pretty odd for a deadmau5 song to appear on the Wii, although the song "A City In Florida" did appear on one of the imaginary radio stations on saints row the 3rd. I played the game myself, but surprisingly wikipedia even stated that appearance of the song in the description of it.
One of the best nighttime driving songs. I vividly remember blasting this song with friends while driving up highway 1 to Big Sur in California with zero traffic at 1am in the morning on a full moon foggy night. I will never forget that good memory.
tranquil. transient. its like a mental massage. But tbh there are several sounds embedded in this song that cause a reaction from me. I love this song. I do. Its the only EDM style song that I like and I've loved it for many years. It was like a portal for meditation for me. Truly. But its also a perfect example of the power of trance music, the power of sounds.
My cousing died in 2007 in a car crash. He was only 21, I was 17. I'm 32 now and honestly I still remember him as the great person and role model he was to me. I always listen to this song when I miss him.
This tune brings tears to my eyes everytime i hear it because i have Anxiety and depression, it gets me thinking of what a traumatic life ive had but it also reminds me of the family members and friends that i have lost over the years, particularly my mum. When i feel down i put this tune on and let all the tears and pain flow out of me, it is also an awesome tune!
I wish nothing but love for you friend, I feel the same with this song. Everytime I hear it, it reminds me that life is a one-use ticket. From losses of loved ones, or emotional times in my life, this song gets me through it. Keep your head high
At school on my 2nd period class my teacher always puts random songs so we can relax while working but when i showed him this song he was impressed & the next day He got into deadmau5 already & puts more of his songs in class. Damn i guess i made the teacher get into deadmau5 💯
this song makes activate my mind and remember a lot of things like my chillhood, my father, festivals... and can me cry in any situation... really, the melodies used in this song are meant to transmit you nostalgia. Music is amazing, and these guys are genius
Hold it up bro! You can do it. I'm sure. You're doing it now. Be proud. Even if it's hard as fuck sometimes, the kind no one can imagine. Through crisises of other kinds, music has always helped me a great deal. Stick to it.
In Melbourne, we have just come out of the longest lockdown in the world. Yesterday my friend and I visited the city for the first time in what felt like forever. Sat in a restaurant along the Yarra River and watched the city unfurl from its hibernation… little groggy, unsure, wobbly on its feet… and then they played this song and all I could do was cry. It hit me right in the heart and soul, in the deepest part of me. So much hope and love and euphoria in those ten minutes. I haven’t stopped listening to it since. Sheer bliss!
@@user-hb2ib1je7j does it have an specific name this style of music? I´m trying hard to find more songs like this one but Idk how to search them... thanks in advance!
I used to produce music from 2007 to 2014; the producer community went MAD because we tried to recreate his synths. And then we did. However, we were NEVER able to recreate his chord progressions. An artist called Deadrat6 almost got there (his songs are good, check them out) but they still lack the pinache that Deadmau5 puts in his music.
Dude same!! This song brought me into the edm/rave scene and I got to witness it at EDC this year. The feeling at the moment this song came on was pure bliss!
It’s 2010 you’re a young kid not fully teenage yet. you just left to take a lonely walk with the cold breeze hitting you in the night time you think back and the nostalgia hits you with a vibe you can’t explain. This song comes on in your mind and you think back to a good time where you were happy on a late night during the winter
TheHondaTuner it’s just that this song is dying as the years go by, and probably there will be a new platform than yt, so you can’t find it, or it just makes you sad and happy at the same time, just like me 😁😬😭
Nostalgia man simpler times that will never be here again so you gotta concentrate on the present because youre probably gonna miss this too soon enough
Deadmau5 was our inspiration, why we making music. We started two years ago under the name 'AzeR Dreaming', and a few months ago we signed to edmDistrict. We are very proud of this. Now we have a little fanbase, 11k subs on youtube, and 8 original songs on our channel. More songs are coming, because we're already working hard on new tracks as well. All the best guys, AD team
FennessyMusic Demographic its like if old people like your music target old people in your ads etc etc you doing pumping rave tunes make your ads all flashy and send em to rave type blogs and stuff not to a metal site that kinda thing
for me, this was hands down the greatest house collaboration ever created. it's a shame that deadmau5 has strayed away from the very music that brought him his popularity. Random Album Title still has yet to be topped. Almost every song on it was incredible.
I'm so glad this is Deadmau5's most viewed track. I like to come to its comment section and see how many new listeners there are and what they're saying. I never forget to do this, or just anything about this track in general. I guess you could say.... I Remember!
My young uncle who was 15 at the time tried to make me get into this type of music back in 2011. Ofc, me being the kid I was (8 years old) I didn't like it. Now I see why he wanted me to hear it. I'm 16 rn btw. I put it on my cars speakers when I come back from a pizza run in the middle of the night. He goes to work at night and we live next to each other. So he smiles when he notices the music, and tells me to turn up the volume.
This song is like a journey through time, where you travel through past inside your own mind, it's addictive and fascinating, this song means a lot to me.
This track makes me both happy and sad at the same time..I fell in love with someone who was one of best human beings I had the privilege of knowing...he's now resting and with that being said he's no longer suffering and he was simply reborn...I remember a time when I listened to this track coming home and I ran into him...I've never seen him so happy and I felt the same way as he was hugged me goodbye
+Reclaimer This is the only Trance song made by Deadmau5. It was listed in Armin's Top 50 Greatest Trance Songs Ever. Also, Kaskade is a Trance producer.
my mother actually was the one who introduced deadmau5 and similar house artist to me when i was a toddler. didn’t realize i knew every word to almost all of these songs without even remembering how the melody went. it really is an insane experience of childhood nostalgia on that level, thanks ma rest easy :)

U FROM COMPTON BRUH!!!!.........I have huge respect and passion for Gangsta Rap(and EDM too)
@MaaniGoldleaf-kj5wl I wish I can say I felt the same. t brainwashed and poisoned the community.
Omg your so right💯🏆
This song takes me back to a much simpler time. 2011 I was in my early 20s and listened to this while driving on a hot summer night to party with some friends. The world has changed a lot since then and I miss that time dearly.
Agreed, simpler times, music was real then. We had to search for it and thus we cherished it more.
we're still here tho... 🙂
This comment hits me so hard! Same feeling ❤
Looking back to how it was and how it is now don’t let them rob you of your past identity and future ❤
When she breathes between the "I remember." After 10 something years and the track still feels the same when I first head it!!! Joel truly made a classic with this one!
My dad introduced this song to me when It first came out when I was 8. I'm now 20 and I still play this, sadly my dad passed and it just reminds me of the good times.
sorry to hear about your loss, your dad had some incredible taste. Hope I get to share some experiences like that with my future kids
@@GrinchGames thank you 🙏🏻 hope you have the same experience
Your dad is a star.
@@axepantherlinatiger yea, he was
I wish my dad was like that, props to him 👉😎👉
This is just too perfect. I recall listening to this on long, dark nights driving when I would have to travel hundreds of kilometers to visit my dad with terminal Cancer. He's gone now, but the words "I remember" always make me connect with Dad again.
reminds me of a similarity . RIP
As they say. This is a simulation. You will see him again.
I feel like my son is traveling in the harmony of this song is a feeling very unique idk why but I appreciate it
I listened to this the day my son died. Driving home from the hospital and this came on. I cried so much that I wanted to die but this song brought back the best memories we had together. Something about this song that pulls you back, makes you think, and moves you forward.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
May your son rest in peace. I hope he is with god smiling down upon you, knowing you were a good father who gave his all
So sorry for your loss never be the same but music helps it does for me I lost 5 family member in 6 months last year so I listen to a lot of music may this music help you through ❤️

The nostalgia felt from this song is almost too much to bear.
+ChiefStyn that's true
+ChiefStyn I feel ya bro
What is nostalgic about this track? What does it remind you of? When you hear it with your eyes closed, where do you go?
+ChiefStyn those afterparties, all brakes loose , not a care in the world, desperate not to think of tomorrow, huge joint fumin' away, every blink of an eye confusion and then calm acceptance
+superwout yes.
Check this shit out." He packed another bowl and put on this song with surround sound, looked at me and said, "It's like you're chilling through the galaxy, dude." I never wanted that song to end.
dame bro i can relate this
Damn bro, i can picture that moment, now i wanna get high and listen to this right now

This song serves as a powerful reminder of all those who care for and still need me on this plane of existence.
REAL FACTS
You just don't look hard enough for it, songs like Curbi - Spiritual (Mriya), Magdalena Bay - Chaeri, and Rufus - Innerbloom will have the same effect
just find your night babe, theres gonna be something out there for you! Just stop going to mainstream clubs?
Detroit has nice house and techno clubs. The scenes still alive. The Eve in Grand Rapids have house nights too.
"Remember how it was with you... Remember how you pulled me through... I remember." That line always gave me goosebumps.
Music can have that effect on geese?

Found this song on the nightclub mission in Goldeneye for Wii. Then I heard it at my gym this morning and discovered it's an actual song and is amazing. Hooray.
YESSS OMG YESSS BEST GAME FOR WII
Awesome game lol
KingJaredoftheLand Heard this on GTA 5, and then found out it was a real song when it came on Pandora lol
It is pretty odd for a deadmau5 song to appear on the Wii, although the song "A City In Florida" did appear on one of the imaginary radio stations on saints row the 3rd. I played the game myself, but surprisingly wikipedia even stated that appearance of the song in the description of it.
KingJaredoftheLand How does a non-actual song sound?
One of the best nighttime driving songs. I vividly remember blasting this song with friends while driving up highway 1 to Big Sur in California with zero traffic at 1am in the morning on a full moon foggy night. I will never forget that good memory.

I can't explain the way this makes me feel after so many years. Like... there's literally not a word to describe it.
tranquil. transient. its like a mental massage. But tbh there are several sounds embedded in this song that cause a reaction from me. I love this song. I do. Its the only EDM style song that I like and I've loved it for many years. It was like a portal for meditation for me. Truly. But its also a perfect example of the power of trance music, the power of sounds.

Don't disrespect the Artist by calling him a different name.
@@Starth15 He (or she) wasn't calling him God. Was simply making an exclamation by saying the word "God," as is prevalent in western culture.
I used to produce music from 2007 to 2014; the producer community went MAD because we tried to recreate his synths. And then we did. However, we were NEVER able to recreate his chord progressions.
