I am Japanese. This place is dangerous in the sense that there are many scams. I have lived Tokyo and Osaka for over 40 years and have never seen pickpockets or robbers in Japan. Around here, women will tout you and charge you around USD1,500$ for 2~3 beers. Number of my friends have been victims of this. If you don't pay, you will be surrounded by many bad people and beaten. And they make you pay in the end. Why don't the police stop them, because there is a law that says they cannot intervene in civil matters. But foreigners are not often victimised. The bad guys don't target foreigners because they don't want the hassle, because the higher-ups in the police force get angry if they carry out violent acts against foreigners. He strolls around the area and women do not approach him, which is evidence of this. Whenever I go to the police after an incident, they always tell me. 'You shouldn't drink in Kabukicho and Ueno'
I was there in July, I visited Shinjuku during the day, and I was actually surprised by how dirty it was compared to the other parts of Tokyo that I went. And I was in Kabukicho during the day...crazy the shift from day to night.

I've been in this area many times, day and night as a foreign visitor who has an office in the business district next to it. The only people who made it feel unsafe on my visits were African men hired by the yakuza to be pushy and physically grab you and try to force you into the dirty businesses that are in the area. There are also many legitimate businesses, restaurants, museums and theaters in the area but there are a lot of underground and illegal businesses there as well. If you were to go in, I'm sure you will leave without your wallet, or scammed by being overcharged for your food/drinks, or leave with a disease. I've never been inside those businesses but have read the sex workers in them are typically not Japanese, they're trafficked in from other countries in South-East Asia or China. There is also the Golden-Gai area within this part of Shinjuku which is super dense, some of the smallest bars in the world and it's really cool to see in the daytime but I would never go in there at night as a foreigner. I absolutely love Japan and Tokyo, but this area is one that you should be more cautious of and enjoy in the daytime or early evening, rather than at night.

I`m U.K. and this is the unsafe part of the city??? The first things I noticed= NO Police present, nobody Drunk or high on drugs and not in control of themselves, no fighting/shouting or singing, no gangs,no homeless/begging, no litter on the streets. Basically this was a respectable area by UK standards. In some parts of England (Manchester-Moss Side) the paramedics wear stab vests or even refuse to go into these areas. I think this reflects the differences in our cultures (Japanese more disciplined) or this area is run by Yakuza and people know not to cause trouble.
Are you sure there’s no litter on the streets, look again carefully. Maybe it’s clean for you but it’s really dirty for Japanese standards. This is the dirtiest place I’ve seen in all of Japan
@@gytan2221 Your country has very high standards then, This video shows the area to be very respectable for a nightclub area compared to British standards. Here there would be fighting, emergency services, rowdiness, people being sick from too much alcohol etc.etc.

What do these niger ians guys do?
I`m U.K. and this is the unsafe part of the city???
Seems pretty nice, clean and safe to me, it's all about common sense, and respecting the locals, just like any other place you go as a tourist.
I just got back from Tokyo and stayed in Shinjuku. I don't think there is an unsafe zone unless you go looking for it. Or follow a tout. The touts are very obnoxious. Plus I think every ward of Tokyo has a giant Gundam to protect the citizens.
Japan exemplifies hope for humanity
Tokyo's unsafest district is safer than the safest district in any "diversity-is-our-strength" city.
I see more guys walking around. Good tour though! Looks safe AF.
Japan is so beautiful
Definitely unsafe! I’m trying to stop myself from catching feelings everywhere!
Absolutely Loved Every Minute
the most dangerous and usafest place in Japan at 3AM looking like the most safe and nice place in Latinoamerica
I never felt unsafe all by myself when I visited Japan no matter what time it was and place
this is such a vibe
3:42 wow that car was rocking side to side really hard, I wonder why. Not normal.
We stayed near Shinjuku/ Kabukicho area in Spring 2023. Didn’t feel the place was unsafe at all. It was so lovely ❤
Beautiful 😍
16:57 at left side, there is a red Ford Mustang GT (1999-2004) also known as the "New Edge" Mustang.
Their unsafest zone looks like Disney Land compared to some unsafe zones here ..lol
I grew up around the dtes of vancouver soooooo this to me is as mellow as it can be.
Seriously 3am? There are so many people our it's crazy!
REminds me of walking in NYC, just much much cleaner and quieter
This already looks 10times more safe than the safest district in my country.
Looks safer than the safest place in Birmingham to me.
Japan is the best country....I wish be there
Looks far more safer, cleaner and civilized than anywhere in America.
What exactly is unsafe about this place? It seriously feels a thousand times safer than standing in my front yard in broad daylight, lol!
There are several black guys.
Cool toyko
"Unsafe" in Japan is like Wilshire Blvd through Korean Town in LA. No one will bother you.
I live in Ktown. It's not known to be a very safe place though I havne't had problems. I saw a fight almost start 2 weeks ago. I walk around with my head on a swivel regardless.
Interesting, didn’t think Tokyo had dangerous areas.. place looks calm.
Looks like a damn good time to me. Sign me up!
شكرا لك على مصداقيتك احبكم كثيرا ❤❤❤❤
It is unsafe because of it's full of cute girls.
My guy has to come to New York to feel what unsafe truly is.
Maybe 20 years ago.
Nowadays New York is safe, nearly the whole of brooklyn in gentrified. Queens is getting there.
nice interesting walk again JE, well done and thank you 😊
Still looks better than safest zone in USA
Don't be afraid, child.
We know
It amazes me how quiet it is. In SE Asia motorbikes are roaming the streets
When I was In Roppongi, the Nigerians would run up to me to pimp girls: “I got white girl, I got black girl, I got Asian girl”. As long as you were nice and cordial, they didnt kick up a fuss when you said no.
I'm surprised by all the Nigerians working as pimps for the escort agencies.
It’s a shame
I'd say yes if they were pimping boys
It seems like Tokyo has more beautiful women per square mile than NYC.🙂
And of course far more camera-toting gaijin wankers.
Thats why I like travelling japan at Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka because it's safe for me , well u can go to Tokyo Japan but don't go shinjuku or kabuchiko
