- 2001 cover of Bee Gees classic. Great song, which I believe improves on the original (sorry Robin Gibb). Was featured in the movie "Zoolander" starring Ben Stiller. Available on movie Soundtrack.
Anyone here because this is one of the best covers of all time?
No
I’m here because of Zoolander
yes Jacob Dylan did an amazing jobs.
Just watched Zoolander for the millionth time.
yess new comment I am not alone
Just watched it today … again for the billionth time
Same
who am I?
Yep!
My favorite version of this song. Tried finding it forever back when I heard it on Zoolander.
you should have just looked up the zoolander soundtrack on imdb or amazon...welcome to the internet
You can add your own songs to Spotify. Just need a computer to accomplish it. Spotify even has instructions to do it.
I've been looking for this song since 2001....hello old friend 🥲
It's crap
@@monkeytennis8861 There you are, you see, he spoke his mind. He said this cover is crap. It just so happens this cover isn't crap, so get out you goddamn pinko subversive, get out.
Aside from this being in zoolander am I the only one that thinks this is a fucking phenomenal cover?
This is by far the best cover.
You are not alone.
no. i agree.
so do i
if you want to hear phenomenal cover, try Faith No More
This is good, but did you even think maybe there's more to life than being really really, really ridiculously goodsounding?
Jack Nunez Who am I? ..... I don't know..
Marty McFly ...hello? hel-hellooo?! anybody home?! Think, McFly. THINK.
I love this comment!!!!! I literally spit my drink out!!!
..the results are in amigo, what's left to ponder!? ...nice come back!
sting would be another hero of mine. the music he makes - i don't really listen to it, but the fact that he's still making it - i respect that..
put a cork in it zane!!
This song gets me sad reminds me of the bad days I have had in life. But for every bad day in life I had, there has been dozens of good days.
Thats what im here for but I gotta admit the zoolander references have me in stitches
"The results are in amigo! What's left to ponder?? .............. Nice comeback!"
Damn..
This is my absolute favourite version of this song...so good.
I started a joke which started the whole world crying
But I didn't see that the joke was on me oh no
I started to cry which started the whole world laughing
Oh If I'd only seen that the joke was on me
I looked at the skies running my hands over my eyes
And I fell out of bed hurting my head from things that I said
'Till I finally died which started the whole world living
Oh if I'd only seen that the joke was on me
I looked at the skies running my hands over my eyes
And I fell out of bed hurting my head from things that I said
'Till I finally died which started the whole world living
Oh if I'd only seen that the joke was on me
Oh no that the joke was on me
11 years later these guys are still putting out great music. Glad All Over has been my album of the week.
11 years later
always loved these guys....phenomenal performers live... and this is definitely the best cover of this bee gee's song, hands down.
No im sorry the best is actually a mexican band. In my opinoin of course. Considering it was the first rendition of the son i knew. Gotta listen with some dope bass.

i love how if you listen to the original, and then this one, you can totally hear the progression of music with the decades
Robin would be proud to inspire other, younger artists as he is a true artisan. This is the best cover.Bob would be proud too.xxLesley
Love this song makes me think of when times were actually good Ironically.
Oh the 90's ....time machine please! I so forgot about this song...used to cover it back then...this version of course
This song makes me think about what it's like to be a teenager/adolescent and you feel like you never get the reactions you expect from things you do.
same!
Have to say, this is the best version of this song!!
The results are in, amigo! What’s left to ponder?! ...Nice comeback!!!!
Man love this song. Somehow it makes me tear up... and then brightens up my morning.
I can't believe I can't get this on Spotify. Awesome arrangement of a song that's got several really good renditions from different artists. But this is my favorite.
Robin Gibb you were one of the greatest, you will be missed.
Oh man, I LOVE finding out I'm not the only one with obsessive habits! I just now heard the intro for this song on zoolander, paused my Netflix to search for the full song on youtube, and BOOM...so did everybody else! I love hearing great songs for the first time on movie soundtracks. This version is AWESOME!
To me this is the Zoolander theme song. That is all

Relax
This song is brilliant. It comes on in waves of sonic pleasure!
People think it's a joke, because they've accepted the reality they were born into. They never questioned their reality.
Robin's song, forever the best !
i had heard it before, saw zoolander, a dozen times, watched it like a month ago or so... but i didn't even really remember this cover existed... i was watching Robin sing it... and he just brings me to fuckin' tears when he sings it... and youtube brought me here... and this is nice, too...
Hits me right in the chest even more than the original. Whenever I'm really down, which is more and more as I age, I listen to this song and it brings me down even further.
this version shows strong emotional sadness when a person tries to cover their sadness, I like this version the best, this is a song that encapsulates peoples feelings crystically
Check Mike patton version with faith no more its almost better than the original
This is the best version. Bee Gees is great of course but this version is amazing. Well done
Stefen Echols Faith No More man.
Oh Jakob.. I love your version!! nice job!
Who cares about Derek Zoolander anyway? The man has only one look, for Christ's sake! Blue Steel? Ferrari? Le Tigra? They're the same face! Doesn't anybody notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! I invented the piano key necktie, I invented it! What have you done, Derek? You've done nothing! NOTHIIIING!
+dogs forever NATHAAANG!!!
hey, why r you taking it so seriously dude? i love watching zoolander, , its just a movie!! whoa!!!
+jacob key lmao
+dogs forever Only one look? ONLY ONE LOOK?!!!!
lmao
Am I seriously the only one here who was brought here by my taste in music, nothing more...
I will love this forever! The Wallflowers make everything better. I'm so excited that they're coming out with a new album in October! They've already released one song, Reboot The Mission, and it's really really good! Can't wait to hear the rest!
Nothing will ever get the beegees or zoolander out of my head when hearing the lyrics not even suicide squad.
I started a joke, which started the whole world crying
But I didn't see that the joke was on me, oh no
I started to cry, which started the whole world laughing
Oh, if I'd only seen that the joke was on me
I looked at the skies, running my hands over my eyes
And I fell out of bed, hurting my head from things that I'd said
Til I finally died, which started the whole world living
Oh, if I'd only seen that the joke was on me
I looked at the skies, running my hands over my eyes
And I fell out of bed, hurting my head from things that I'd said
'Til I finally died, which started the whole world living
Oh, if I'd only seen that the joke was on me
i love the bee gees but i never cared for this song but the wallflowers did it justice. thanks guys
I love that this band is releasing another album. Been a longtime fan and its great that they are still putting out new material. "Reboot the Mission" has me stoked for the rest to come.
I would think that if someone says you did a better job than The Beegees, you would accept it as a compliment
Best version, hands down, thumbs up
this song speaks right into my sadness thx wallflowers awsome cover
Beautiful. Although l loved the original Bee Gees version as a teenager, I think i prefer this softer voice.
I wish this song were on Spotify. Not even the Zoolander soundtrack is there. *cry!*
OMG, LOL I've forgotten more about music than you can ever claim to know about. My condolences, so much for "Stayin' Alive".
Great cover and nice spin on a Bee Gees classic! RIP Robin. Nice work Jacob! The Wallflowers rocked!
This is the best version in my opinion ✌🏽
Ahah j'aime tellement, ça me fait penser à ce bon vieux Zoolander avec Ben Stiller😋 je suis fan de ces sons début des années 2000
I listen to this whenever I wanna cry haha
I think the song is about the futility of human existence-- death is inevitable, and anything or anyone you choose to care about doesn't have any innate value outside of your own feelings. in this sense, life is a joke-- because while human existence is what we care about the most, the fact that we care does not negate the fact that existence is inherently meaningless on an objective scale.
Im a year late on this. lol. But had to respond. I found yours an Interesting perspective (no sarcasm meant either). I feel differently about existence being inherently meaningless, even if on an objective scale. I feel that we choose whether our lives will have meaning. Of course people can debate on what choices give life meaning. So lets start with human suffering. We all experience it as you suggested above. So doing something that could minimize suffering and help humanity could arguably make someones life meaningful. Anyone can do it, and there is suffering everywhere, so we all have an opportunity to have meaningful lives, by helping each other suffer less.
not to be a human supremacist but there's literally no relevance to our place in the cosmic order. it doesn't affect your life in anyway. but the people around you, the ones you love, hate, and worship. they are existence itself.
Great cover!
This version is Awesome !!!!
I Love the BeeGees version and then i search for Cover-Versions and found 2001 many ,but this was the best of all.
sorry Beegees :D
this is my favorite version of this song.
Earth to Derek! We need a sequel!
Proud son of his father ! He got talent ! He got it all !
They play this song all the time at my job I'm just glad I could finally get the name of it
Forget suicide squad. Zoolander brought me here
Dwight K. Schrute yes! finally someone said it lol
As soon as the trailer started playing the song I immediately thought of Zoolander lol
Thank you sir!!
Those wallflowers there so hot right now
Dwight K. Schrute brother.....cheers...!!
So mad this isn’t on spotify
it is now
This is definitely the best version of a great song. Who else could do it, possibly seal.
Beautiful version of this profound song. I didn't 'appreciate' the Bee Gees - when I was a teenager. I grew up with older brothers and sister, and my musical knowledge and taste was of that earlier time. Later - when I slowly became something of a musician, (for the sole sake of making contact with a beloved musician), I then 'heard' the brilliance of the Bee Gees and even Abba. I sang and covered 'Morning Of My Life', by the Bee Gees, another fantastical love song. You - Jacob Dylan - what I know of your songs, you're great. This is from someone who could be called 'out of touch', or even out of her mind, because although I must have seen 'Zoolander', ...thus, must have heard your 'cover' version, ....it's like .... all new to me.
Eleni Nicolaou totally agree. .. I now appreciate the Bee Gee's. The original of this song is amazing but this cover is fantastic. I like this version better simply because it has more backing melody's that give it a bit more .. friendliness maybe.. a bit more paths the listener can go to.. .. Robin Gibb's vocals are starkly slashing to your ears in the original and can't be denied.. simply amazing
Listening to this song makes me realize I couldn't possibly be a joke.
Jokes have meaning.
I really thought my fave Wallflowers song was "One Headlight" until I watched Zoolander again last week. Can't believe I missed it before.
Simplesmente maravilhosas ❤
This song is great, I have zoolander on my iPod and I searched immediately on iTunes but I couldn't fund it, thanks for the tip ( in description)
A lot of people said he couldnt do it four years..... We proved them wrong!!!!
Love the new album from these guys!
no disrespect to the bee gees, but I like this version better. and yes, I also learned about this song thru zoolander
peluso12 same here
I should hope one wouldn't disrespect the group who actually wrote the song. I grew up with the original...loving it. I'm here because I love this version too. So bravo to The Wallflowers for making a great "modernized" cover that keeps the key mood element of the original (which is what makes the song great in the first place). But beyond personal "listening preference", I hope one never thinks a band who covers a song could ever be given more credit than the person/band who actually wrote it.Well, okay...I have to say this: Dynamite Hack's cover of Boyz in the Hood is brilliant. I love it, and I think the original is by Easy-E is just another rap song, with no character whatsoever. Dynamite Hack took great lyrics drowned out by boring rap and made it into the *song* it always should've been...obviously a very personal opinion (as I'm obviously a huge rap fan).
Why did you answer a question that no one asked you?
Very good version but no not as good as Robin of the Bee Gee he makes it sound more sad as it Is suppose to be. But great addition!
Agreed and I can’t get it on iTunes
Mike Mendoza's version is amazing....nothing compares. Not even this....and I love this. It just doesn't move me as much...
Thinking of this fantastic cover of this song at this time...
"Guess I have a lot of things to ponder!! " (gives Blue Steel look) No one could have carried off the Zoolander character like Ben Stiller. Well done Ben. Have watched the film over and over & still laugh out loud!! Be honest....how often do u get to say that? He's just so...really, really, really... ridiculously FUNNY!
Haven't met him but he seems a genuinely funny guy in real life too.
Watch "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty"....another brilliant film.
Can we just rewind back to the 90's ??
it was pleasant out of all of todays bands songs that was the best i have ever heard even though i know it was not their song it was originally done by the bee gees. it is just todays songs are filled with such bad words that it is nice to hear a song that is not.
beautiful bee gees cover
the best cover
this is really good tunes my friend
Build up to 0:40 and on gets to me, bittersweet and more to the sad side, but beautiful.
Is it wrong to like this version more than the original from the Bee Gees?
+Danny Meléndez No. I do.
OHHHHH IT IS SOOOOOO WROOOONGG!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂🖕
I like it better 2
I like this better. But I still give thanks to the Bee Gees for this song.
Yes, this is awful compared to bee gees or faith no more
Another great cover
really, really good looking : *
this is my favourite...you guys make this sound so good
Very nice rendition of the song.
I like this cover....I think the bass is interesting and adds a lot....nice arrangement with a lot of interesting musical touches. I don't think many people cover this song because it's so morbidly adolescent. these guys pulled it off.
this is the best "feeling sorry for myself" song
i want this played at my funeral!
Ben Stiller is a genius!
a great rendition!!!!
I like this version the best. The vocals are strong and mature with a positive feeling. I always went to the Bee Gees version like a moth to a flame. If I focus on the lyrics as whined by the frail sounding Robin BG it is a bothersome testimony to self absorbed adolescent melancholy. If I adjust my ears and take in the song as a whole it is incredibly beautiful and pure. Faith No More sounds like a Vegas Tom Jones impersonator. Well done but not my cup. Great song. Thanks
This is a great cover, it's much more sad though...I like it!
Still watching Zoolander in 2018 👀
Still watching in 2020✊🏿
ok. i admit i only listened to each song once. and i hadn't listened to them in a long while, so maybe i heard what i expected.
i'll listen to it again. i certainly would like to like the album ;-)
I usually hate covers with the exception of All Along the Watchtower or a few others, but they did an amazing job with this one.
This is my absolute favorite version of this song! (Even though the others are still great.) [:
great cover... even better than the original version.
по мне так самая лучшая кавер версия ,даже намного лучше оригинала)
Very underated 90's band
Definitely my favorite version
Nice cover.... loved
MY FAVS, We can be hero's,One headlight, 6th Avenue Heartache and this what i love about this band is they live up to there name.
This song is haunting and makes u think. Wow. And to think this is Bob Dylans son. Well done:)
I love the original...Robin Gibb's voice is so perfect for this song...so I can't say that I like this better. But it is exactly what a great cover should be...different from the original. Amazing vibe to this version and the Wallflowers make it their own...wonderful.
What is this? A center for ants? How are we expected to teach the kids to read good... if they can't even fit inside the building?.... it needs to be at least... 3 times bigger.
JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA LOL!
he's right!
Radiohits 2001. Thank universe i still enjoy music when music was the real music
