Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t just a game. Once you play it you feel it. You start to feel like the characters you play as and when they or any other beloved character in the game dies, it makes you ever so sad. Respect rockstar games, you truly have made the best video game series to ever exist
Rdr1 feels so sad compared to 2. Its just that rdr1 feels so sad, so empty. In rdr2 you played along the van der line gang but in rdr1 it's just you and John. Also the soundtrack has the feeling that the wild west is dying.

He may not be the smartest, but Marston lived the longest. I like seeing him getting more cranky; wiser, maybe, in the first game versus the second. Everything in RDR2 helped John grow up a little faster.

Its sad that the gang had to collapse but it made sense dutch was crazy from the beginning the only good quality was his charisma and the fact that he looked out for the gang
It seems like an ordinary coincidence, when the age of gunslingers has passed and as it happened with many gangs, they all died, but when you see their death on their behalf... That feeling that relatives and acquaintances for you died and this irreplaceable feeling of loss and emptiness after two RDR games - something to something. In no game will you be so attached to the garbage.
My headcanon is that rdr the first one is a different timeline as author and many other gang members didn’t exist in the whole story so if they do make a remaster of the game that would part of the same timeline as rdr2
I love that Jack is the last person alive who was kinda part of the Gang. I mean I don't love that everyone else died I'm just glad he didn't die. The kid has been through enough.
