  • Not all airline crash pads are the same, but here a quick little tour of the one I've been crashing in for the past few months. Its perfect for commuting flight attendants and pilots, simple and clean with everything you need to be comfortable. Feel free to ask any questions in the comment section.

    How lucky are you to live in a crashpad with that many women and all get along and keep the place nice and tidy! Glad that you will be in your own place soon, can't wait for that video!

      Right I’m trying To figure out how they all (16) get along and bathrooms stay clean 😳😳... I also only saw 2 baths thats way too few I’m sorry. Nope. I’m 3 years in and not for me. I walked into a Crashpad in the Detroit area, they had about 14 crew members and all I can remember is the strong stench of pure must. I ran out so quick

    Fascinating to see Vera. I don't think crash pads are common in the UK. I guess it's necessary for you simply for the size of the country.

    whats your worst experience with the crash pads? have you met any dangerous people? have people brought any body to the place that didnt belong? are there any over night visitors allowed in the crash pad or is it no visitors past a certain time?

    I'm interested in trying to convert one of my rentals houses into a crash pad and I was wondering if the house is ten minutes
    a way from the airport would that work? It would be in MIAMI.

    Hi, so as the name says, it's just a place to crash after red eye. Is it arranged by airlines or is that you all together took it for rent?

    • @BalancedFlyer
      @BalancedFlyer  4 года назад +1

      Hey! Yes it’s a place to crash either if you can’t get a flight to the city you live in or in between work strips if you have them stacked together and want to work them all in a row before you go home. But they are generally privately owned, sometimes by airline crew themselves or by someone who knows there was a market for it. The airlines typically don’t have anything to do with it. In this crash pad we had people from 3 different airlines.

      @@BalancedFlyer the crashpad owner said i need to go home if i have more then 1 day off and doesnt want check in bags. But going to the east coast from Denver and back in 2 days isnt easy to catch a standby seat. Any tips on how to pack for this scenario using a carry on?

    • @BalancedFlyer
      @BalancedFlyer  3 года назад +1

      Ugh that’s annoying of the crash pad owner, you can’t always get home and back with just two days. I really don’t know in this situation, I would bring bare necessities and feel out the place once you get there. I would also continue to ship around for other crash pads. What city are you in?

    • @Khanfusing
      @Khanfusing 3 года назад

      @@BalancedFlyer i live on the east coast (IAD/DCA) and i am based in Den with a regional but we only fly united. So standby to iad is really hard esp in two days. Even so i just started and didnt have time after IOE to go home and get a coat and necessities:( the only up, is i am 🤞🏼🤞🏼 going for training for a mainline within the next 5 months for a LOD position and i know the two bases ill get. (Jfk and dfw) but for the rest of Oct i have 3 two days off and like you said its hard to fly home and come back in time for my 1st reserve day (esp for a newbie regional standby as mainline and seniors get priority 🥲)
