Thank you for giving us some props. Lifelong Detroit resident here. I think a lot of people sleep on Motown, but we have great people, amazing food and world class history. I’m gonna like and subscribe just for your kind words about the city.
Dear Vera, I loved this Detroit video!!! Of course Detroit has a special place in my heart since I lived there for 3 years!!! Thank you for showing such awesome places😄😄❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕
Wow, I remember when you did a vlog in December of 2021 which was all about a layover in Detroit!!! You wore that big fluffy down jacket!!! 🧥 I am glad you went to the museum it is a pretty cool place, plus 10 k subscribers!!! Stay awesome and safe in the sky young lady!!! 👍✌🤠✈
I am glad you went to the Ford Museum; I enjoyed looking at the vintage aircraft, cars (especially being driven on the property). I remember as a kid my family spent nights at the Holiday Inn so that old Holiday Inn sign brought back memories to me.
You can take a 4 hour class on how to drive a model t. Then if you pass the class they take you to this huge parking lot and you get to drive around for about an hr.
I recently applied for several FA jobs and found your channel when I was doing some research. Your vlogs inspired me to apply with several airlines. I have a video interview soon and a F2F later this month. I’m also a native Detroiter. 🎉❤
As a Detroiter I'm always leery of sea food. Yes, we're surrounded by inland seas, but they're fresh water. I'm just not cool with ocean food being shipped to the Midwest lol. Also love that you went to greenfield village! Used to have a membership there, just to walk around somewhere pretty. The Detroit Zoo is another wonderful place that's open year round. It's one of those zoos that take the animals into account, so you might not see all the animals lol. It was built in the early 1900s. The elephants helped build it. We don't have elephants anymore because they needed more space. Good choice choosing Greek food in Detroit!
Yes Greenfield Village is amazing and it’s not that far from Detroit you have to do the museum and the village on separate days. So glad you got to go.
I love your endless energy! And unlike many flight attendants, I appreciate that you don’t have fillers everywhere. Your goal of focusing on yourself and becoming the best version of yourself is so sweet. I hope you always have wonderful flights, and never let anyone steal your beautiful energy! 🧡
Ok, here’s a weird fact about the Henry Ford museum. It has the chair that Lincoln was shot in as well as the car that Kennedy was shot in. Like I said, a weird fact. Thanks for showing Detroit in a positive light (love that you were singing Motown in your head as you were there). The city gets a lot of negativity so it’s appreciated.
Great video. I am from Detroit. At the Henry Ford Museum, did you see the vehicle that Kennedy was assassinated in? They also have the chair Lincoln was assassinated in. Morbid, but it's a real part of history when you visit this museum. But it's so big, I can understand if you missed it.
I'm a native Detroiter (I live in Seattle now) and I loved seeing this blog! So glad you enjoyed my hometown! Funny...I don't think I've ever been to the Henry Ford Museum lol. My absolute fav museum as a kid was the Detroit Historical Museum. It's such a cool museum that chronicles the history of Detroit. The Detroit Institute of Arts is also a must see if you haven't been. My immediate family lives in FL and I don't get to Detroit often, so I really loved seeing this little piece of it. Thank you! :)
From Detroit: thanks for seeing the HFM! I always loved the "big train" and the Rosa Parks bus. During the crowd strike meltdown I got to enjoy BOS for 3 days. Love Boston!
You should get the annual pass for the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. It's $150 for a companion pass. You can go whenever you are in town and you get to bring someone else with you. It's worth it if you go a few times a year. Been going for years and there is always something I didn't see before.
Next time you are in Detroit and staying in the downtown area I would highly recommend touring the Piquette plant. It's in Detroit and not nearly as far away as the Henry Ford. It is where Henry Ford originally started the Ford Motor Company and where he first started building the model T before moving the the assembly line in Highland Park. I would highly recommend getting the guided tour because the tour guides really make the experience better & are super knowledgeable.
A couple of cool things to do downtown is Campus Martius park & the Detroit Riverwalk. A fun way to get around downtown is either the QLINE streetcar or the People Mover. Belle Isle is one of a kind & def. worrh a visit too. You also have to check out the renovated Central Train Station. It is spectacular! Glad you enjoyed your visit again in Detroit! We welcome having people visit & enjoy all the city has to offer esp. in the summer & fall.
New here, just found this, glad you went to the state I grew up in Michigan and saw the museum. I saw as a kid on a school trip. I now live in Wisconsin, but Michigan still is my state. Go Blue, Go Lions!
Always love your vlogs Awesome Cute Vera. Thank you so very much for this little gem of an escape experience. Henry Ford Museum looked truly amazing. Glad you had fun. Always be fly keep safe.
Actually, the Henry Ford Museum is two parts. There’s the museum and the village. If you want to see everything it’s at least two days to see it all might as well worth it. Enjoy your stay in Detroit, born and raised here. And you also have to go to American or national Coney Island.
Glad you enjoyed Detroit. It gets a bad rap but is actually pretty great. The only negative part is how far apart everything can be. I haven’t been to Henry ford in years. I’ll have to go with my family sometime soon.
Cool trip. I am actually from across the the river in Canada, Windsor, Ontario. When I was younger and lived close to Windsor still, we used to go to Greek town a lot. Sooo sooo good!
This video popped up. I live 15 min from Dearborn, so of course I had to watch ! The bench on my porch was used in Greenfield Village. My uncle was a cop there back in the day. I grew up going there (Im in my 50s) It's the best time to go there at halloween and christmas
Hi Vera, thanks for going to Greenfield Village for me, been 27 year since I was there when I was across the river in Windsor, Ontario. Used to go there a lot. Suggest a layover in Toronto with a GO Train trip to Niagara Falls, especially during the Festival of Lights over Christmas and its also good for your health with the great walking tours there like from the Falls to Queenston Heights, would make for an epic vlog.
Hi Vera, I like how happy and relaxed You are in the intro. Glad You did the Henry Ford Museum. If You are in Ft Meyers, FL You can visit the Edison Ford Winter Estate. It is also bery interesting. Like the VW Bus 🙂 Best Regards, Ralf
Next time you're here, go to the DIA! It's been ranked the number one art museum in the US twice in the last two years! Zetouna's is AMAZING. You also need to try authentic Lebanese and Indian food in Detroit now 😁
The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village looks so familiar. I went on a grade school class trip 50 years ago. 🤣. I hope you were glad you spent the money. Your editing was excellent!
Lovely video! Do you ever wear a scarf like you wore it at the start of this vlog when you're not working? You look fabulous wearing a scarf like that - do you wear one at other times too? x
Is there something you try to collect or do in each place you stay? I feel like I'd wanna do something overly silly like buy a Pepsi in a 7-11 in however many cities I could.
New follower/subscriber 🎉! Per your request, I live in a quiet, rural town outside the capital city of Lansing, Michigan. 😁 Fun watching your channel. 😁
Ohh wow, I drive a Ford Mustang 2017. If you come to Australia I will give yourself a drive. I luv your face but we will have to meet hehe . All the best anyway cheers Ray ❤
Yes I have many times but I’ve noticed it not to be much cheaper a lot of the time. Plus if I’m just going to one location and back the convenience of getting picked up and dropped off exactly where you need to go is worth it. I’ll use something like that for a longer day out.
That is SO funny that your last minute Ubers , stresses your viewers out! I join them in worrying! - I must know, have any of your Ubers turned back & left U if U weren't outside? Good for you. Cost of Ford exhibit and Uber was ridiculous. Happy u are managing your money. U talk about "alone." Aren't other employees working on same flight? I am now a widower and know what u mean tho. No longer fun to go some places without my wife. As a single, I am a 3rd wheel. 😢

For some reason, this showed up on my homepage so I decided to watch out of curiosity. It baffles me that you are concerned about the cost of an Uber to go from downtown Detroit to the Henry Ford Museum. You’re a flight attendant and I’m assuming that you flew into Detroit Metropolitan airport which is in Romulus, which is 21 miles away from downtown Detroit. The Henry Ford Museum is only 14 miles from downtown Detroit. If you’re so concerned about cost with an Uber, why didn’t you stay at a hotel closer to the airport instead of staying all the way in downtown Detroit? If you were trying to budget like you say you’re trying to do then, maybe you should’ve stayed at a hotel by the airport instead of going all the way into downtown Detroit.
@@BalancedFlyer i’m not being judgmental or jumping to conclusions. To me I guess it’s just common sense. You’re saying that the airline that you work for chooses to send you to a hotel in downtown Detroit that is probably 2 to 3 times more expensive than a hotel that is 1 to 2 miles away from Detroit Wayne Metropolitan airport. I find that hard to believe I live in Metro Detroit, so I’m very familiar with the area and distances and cost of hotels and what not.
Why would anyone want to be a flight attendant if the airline put us at a cheap hotel by the airport for all of our long layovers? It’s about quality of life for the job you are working. Airlines have contracts with hotels for flight crew. You jumped to the conclusion that I made my own hotel choice and you were judgmental about what you thought I chose if I was trying to budget.

Hi!
Happy to hear some positive reviews of Detroit! I enjoyed the views from the Ford Museum and happy you decided to go there.

Did they still have the different plane interior simulators? I loved the one from the late 20’s with wicker passenger chairs.
Yes!!

Yes I went to the village and museum in this vlog! There is a third part that is the factory tour.
The food prepping seems to be a part time gig what requires lots of planning and discipline. Great video. Loved the museum shots the most!

I’m so glad your going back to health and wellness 👍
Me too honestly
Glad you had fun in our city/metro!

On your next trip with your friend, check out the Cadeaux Cafe and reserve feather bowling, and go to
Avalon Bakery.
