You don't have to be smart to have money you just have to want to have money. the truly smart people don't bother with these fake games. no one ever talks about the super high insurance and maintenance to start as well as the games you have to play if the car you want is relatively rare (i.e. they made one less than the total global demand). Then there is depreciation and opportunity cost of money. Negative attention as well.
