*This video was originally uploaded a few weeks ago, but it received a manual copyright claim. I disputed the claim, but the company essentially told me to go screw myself. So I had to re-edit it in more of a slideshow format and hope they leave me alone.
‘Lady Ballers’ is a sports comedy from Conservative news and media company The Daily Wire, which claims to offer a satirical take on the issue of transgender women in women’s sports, but really it’s just an excuse to pander to their audience and bash trans people. And it’s also really, really bad.

Considering they surround themselves with the likes of Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh, it's easy to see why they have no talent, or self respect now that I think about it.

It sucks that one episode of South Park (Randy savage parody right) had a good moral point,being that someone shouldn’t be labeled transphobia for asking someone’s reasoning, was overlooked because they handled the situation poorly

Never watched, but saw a brief summary from various RUclipsrs and comment sections.
I recall that the point of that episode being "You can't just barge in and compete against disabled people and expect an easy win, they're training for this." with the absurd part (as per usual south park) where we get the answer of "what if Paralympic athlete and stimulant scandal are in the same box?"
So yeah, in summary. Never expect political nutjobs to discuss sports accurately, they never watched any match to begin with.

Thanks so much for your reupload, CJ. It speaks volumes that it was originally supposed to be a documentary about cis men pretending to be trans to compete in a women's league, only to have to retool their premise into a fictional comedy when they realised it was illegal.

And when they did they had to find out that it's not all that easy, you can't just start as a man in a female competition no matter how often reactionary nutters choose to repeat the same PRATT to their gullible audience who never gave a flying f☠️k about women's sport in the first place.
If you want to start as a trans-woman you have to had undergone the year-long psychological evaluation required to receive gender-reaffirming care to begin with - and your endocrinic (hormone) levels have to be within the standard derivations of women's physiology for obvious reasons, and over a prolonged period of time at that - having taken up hormones last week won't suffise.
So as you can see it indeed is illegal for a man to compete as a cis- or trans-woman in official women's sport competitions.
It really isn't that complicated.

To help this video in the Algorithim I'll just say:
The daily wire staff being made up of failed artists and writers and then censoring any critisism against them means they have low enough tesosterone to compete in the lowest possible weight classes in intersex sports
The REAL genius behind this is that they can just claim "Wokeness" when their movie crashes and burns.
They've learned well from the movie and games industries who call people bigots for not buying "Generic Slop 7".
I'm someone who complains about forced progressive elements in movies all the time, and I still think Lady Ballers is horrendously preachy and on-the-nose. From this review alone, half the movie seems to be right-wing talking points disguised as a plot.
This movie is like whenever a flat earther attempts to do an experiment to prove that the world is flat just to get the opposite result and still releases the research anyway it as if they were right.

My biggest issue is I'm in the group they're targeting and I wasn't triggered at all. I just thought it was boring. They'd pull some stupid bullshit and I'd say "That's not how that works", and the rest of the scene wouldn't have any kind of importance to me because it's all based on a false premise. They're attacking strawmen.

As I said, satirical comedy works when it has a point behind it. For instance, Dr Strangelove and Tropic Thunder work because they have clear topics they make fun of that have layers to them. This movie has one joke, and that’s it.
The point is there. It's just unfunny and uninteresting.

Tropic Thunder is nothing short than an absolute comedic masterpiece on par with imo that of Airplane, Ghostbusters and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

I find it bizarre that less than a year ago they were annoyed at the Basketball player Brittany Griner who is 6ft 10 and now they are claiming the average man who in the US is 5ft 9 will just boss women's Basketball.

It’s about the experience one has in either a profession and/or sport.
Therefore if I were to be cocky and arrogant like these goofs and go up against a woman who is a professional at Baseball or Basketball, then chances are I’m losing based on how less experience I have.
That's the worst thing about this movie. They actually believe women are so weaker than men a weak and useless man can effortlessly beat the most powerful women. Just shows how insecure they are and how much they hate women.

And experienced men are always winning against experienced women, that's just a fact. You don't see transmen dominating other guys at sports, it only happens with women. The comedy might be bad but the problem is real. Biological men do have an advantage over women. You can say there are all sorts of individual differences in height, strength etc. Yes. That's why short people don't play basketball and weak people don't do weightlifting. They don't have the chance to win. If you're fine with women having no chance to win, either (because of their biology), then why not put men and women together, why the division? Ask a female professional athlete what it's like to compete against a male professional athlete, not against you.

I find it funny that in a conversation about the making of this show, the original premise was for them to do it for real. But they couldn't because the rules wouldn't allow them to compete. I think the reason conservative comedy falls flat is because comedy usually resonates with audiences since it has some basis in reality. Comedy can really speak to an audience if it reflects off of factual basis for how our world works and it spins, parodies, makes commentary on what we see or go through in day to day life. But reactionaries have fallen so far down a rabbit hole of conspiracy theories, made-up moral panics, and invented boogeymen that your average person just can't get behind the very premise of their "jokes" because the reason for why you would laugh in the first place isn't there. You can't really be too much of a comedian if your worldview relies on a foundation of made-up stuff because it can't resonate with audiences.
Say what you will about John Oliver or Stephen Colbert but they at least get that premise down. And it's far easier to endure two hours of them than whatever the hell this movie is...
There's also how it fails at being absurdist or dark/offensive humor.
Not gonna lie, I *love* offensive humor. But usually it's pretty clear that the person behind it still means well and says what they do because it's funny, not because they want to hurt people. And if a line is crossed with much of their audience, they're willing to acknowledge the mistake and apologize for it.
Conservative humor isn't trying to be funny. It's actually trying to be hurtful and offensive, and they don't care if they're called out for it.
It also fails as absurdist humor when you realize that none of this is purposefully absurdist. It's how these conservatives actually see the world.

I do find it weird that these almost always very unimpressive guys think that they could just be the best in any women's sport by simply being a man. When you look at almost all world records to get the women's world record you would need to be so good at that sport, you would be on your own countries men's national team in that sport.

I see a lot of sports events in my job, so I can say firsthand that athletes of any gender are just absolute units. They train hard and care for their bodies in ways that the average person can't even think of (or sometimes even afford). Your average Joe or Jenny could not defeat even the weakest professional athlete. And it's kind of wild how people regularly think sports are as easy as just "running" or "jumping".

The reason you don't have those kinds of comedies like this anymore. It's because they got stale, the usual suspect of actors were getting more expensive to hire. And most importantly the way these movies really made their money was DVD sales, now that revenue is nowhere near as big, streaming services aren't interested, so these kinds of movies are no longer made.

The ending is the worst because they kick out all the women and replace them with little girls declaring that girls can only be baby vassals. These guys really hate women.

i think a lot of people are unaware that most sports supervisory boards require trans women to be on feminizing hormone therapy for at least 2 years. there’s also evidence that for sports like swimming and biking, trans women get slower. Lia Thomas was a top swimmer pre transition, got slower after hormones and while still being in the top she is definitely not the fastest female swimmer. Also Katie Ledecky, a not trans woman, is faster than Michael Phelps. so while male puberty can give someone an advantage, who gets to participate in women’s sports should really be on a case by case basis. and honestly i think that sports shouldn’t be segregated by sex/gender but by things like muscle mass, height or weight. also idk why conservatives think that trans women think we’re not different from cis women in any way. we’re different in a lot of ways. but we’re also the same in a lot of ways

@@missAlice1990 so you’re right that males tend to be stronger. that’s because of the effects of testosterone which are reversible. you have to take into account how hormone therapy affects the body. trans women that have been on hormones experience muscle atrophy and perform the same as non trans women in sports like running, swimming and biking. there is an argument that there are still advantages in sports that rely more heavily on strength but when you look at the data, trans women athletes that have been on hormone therapy for at least two years (which was standard practice in many sporting bodies for decades) perform the same as cis women because they’re not “as male” as a cis man who hasn’t taken hormones. there are also men out there who are weaker than women. i think that the issue of sex based separation in sports is more complicated than men strong women weak

4 years ago I had an accident and suffered pretty bad brain damage. I lost a lot of memories, developed Epilepsy and now suffer with short term memory loss (and for the millionth time, in case anyone thinks of asking, which I get a lot, it's not like Dory!!)
My point being, I know what brain damage actually feels like, I've experienced it, I live with it daily. It's absolutely horrendous.
