it's like why even say that? they think its strengthens their argument but it actually brings it down, means you have boundaries i.e. "there's nothing funny about *blank*"
Bill Burr said it best. It's like the mandatory preface to bitching about something so you wow everyone with your alleged credibility. If you go right off the bat and say just how fully sure of yourself you are with comedy, and then point out what you object to, that's intended to make the listener go "OH, SHIT, look at this person who loves "____" calling out this one thing, doesn't that tell you it's bad!?". It's condescending, dishonest and annoying. No one can just say their piece anymore without waterboarding the audience with just how evolved they are.
They don't like the kind of comedy that makes people uncomfortable and open up avenues of dialog. That's why PC was created. To silence people out of having an opinion of their own and to adopt one that fits the liberal narrative.
I love how Louis ck just killed them all with kindness and being calmed and collected. I’m sure some of the hosts wanted to start a war and instead got a smart guy.
Brett Chambers she said it three times and made a point of announcing how offended SHE felt. people like her pretend to be unselfish but are actually the most self-centered.
Bill Burr would be able to be diplomatic too. He actually explains the word FAGGOT on an episode of the green room. He didn't try to destroy anyone. That's why he killed by the way. :D It's strange but some people need the explanation of a joke or word and they still don't get it. They're just subhuman. Hitler would understand. :)
Thank you for posting this. I ‘ve been wanting to see this clip for a while now, after hearing Louie discussing his appearance with Jimmy Norton. It’s interesting to see it in reality after hearing Louie’s memories of it. He seemed more nervous than I imagined. The mock outrage got to him more than I thought it would have. It must have also been unnerving to be sitting in the middle of that barrage of questions, as they continually interrupted his answer to the previous question with a new one before he could finish. I just wish Louie had the presence of mind to highlight the hypocrisy that HBO were broadcasting The Sopranos at the time. No one would have dared to mention the profanities in that show, but when it’s under the guise of comedy - hey it’s open season..
+InspiredGuesswork I figured he was more nervous than I anticipated too, but if you think about it, that room was a nightmare, not only filled with stupid people but stupid people who hate him.
We know that while Wawa was building her wall of indignation, Louis was on the phone to Chris Rock asking for advice. And according to Louis, Chris told him to remember he's on TV, so play to the TV audience. Then Louis realized that as soon as Baba Wawa went down the 'all is fawgiven' road, that the whole thing was fake.
I love how Barbara Walters was sitting there scowling after her hit piece failed. You could tell some them knew more about him and saved the moment. It goes to show you that at some point you should just retire. Sad to be so out of touch like that.
I like when shes talking about the things on the show that "aren't funny" and everyone's trying to hold in laughing at the idea of them... because they're funny
"I don't like throwing around the term racist because it won't mean anything anymore" Prediction has been vindicated, it now literally means anything you disagree with
Barbra Walters was in Iran when the Shah was deposed and reported on the violence while in Tehran. Yet, she watches Lucky Louie and somehow loses composure in a second. It’s like watching Walter Cronkite failing to jump across the red balls in “Whipeout” and while soaking wet in a life jacket he has a temper tantrum juxtaposed by his calm announcement that Kennedy was killed.
I think the producers were actually quite successful here in making the show interesting. They made a bet that Louis could get through it looking great. We wouldn't be here commenting on this clip if they hadn't done it.
I think this “controversy” actually served to make his show more popular and he should of leaned into it. One of the things that made South Park so popular early on was ppl heard it was controversial. Ppl hear there’s a new comedy show and their interest is limited. Ppl hear there’s a new racist sexist show on hbo that’s causing a “firestorm of controversy” they’re more likely to check it out. I know I would be
Why can't people just understand not everyone thinks or agrees with your views or opinions. I just hate that the hosts act like they never had bad thoughts or laughed at something horrific.

I can't tell if he crossed his arms because he was uncomfortable or because he's just that guy who crosses his arms. His upper body said uncomfortable and his lower body said comfortable. Sorry for wasting your time with this remarkably uninteresting observation 😅
These women are just losers by contrast to L.CK. He talked about this on his podcast and I had to come see the real deal. They set him up so badly before the show telling them how they loved his series...vulgar is that this show is still on the air.
I just watched this, because I'm looking for anything that has Loui CK in it but, this was disgusting, such unprofessional group of what ever they are...because they are not reporters nor hosts.
It's pretty nice to see that they don't condemned him and just demonize him and let him talk and express his jokes... this wouldn't happen today from lot of the left leaning people
usually if someone says "I have a sense of humor" it means that they have absolutely no sense of humor.
"I have a good sense of humor, but this isn't funny. It's offensive."
Nobody with a "good" sense of humor has ever said that.

That should be a bit.
This is in 2006 but for some reason it feels like 1984..
Early digital was worse than film.
More like 1884
George Orwell's 1984? 😉
Are you like ten?? No tf it doesn’t lmao
It looked better on tv, converting old footage to RUclips is the culprit
Fantastically handled by Louis. Class act.
Oh man. He was soooo uncomfortable. He did awesome despite how much he must have wanted to call them out. Well done, sir!
We will forget The View but remember Louis CK.
(Nothing personal)
Dodging (fake) bullets like a pro!
Louie is orders of magnitude smarter than all of them put together..
sotiris236 because they are women :D
OBAMAisTRASHlikeU Sure! lol
It's like seeing Matrix 1 all over again
God damn if people have opinions
Louie spends a lot of time thinking about thoughts.
The opening of this looks like an snl skit.
Also the black woman was clearly on louies side. Black people love louis. Chris rock said Louis is "the blackest white guy ever"
She was clearly having none of this bullshit from the other hosts
and Louie replied “ are you calling me a nigger?” No joke😂 that comedian meetup was awesome
black people also hate when white stuck up woman try and tell them what is offences to black people.
Barbara was the only unsympathetic one.
"If you call everything racist, then you take power away from the word" They called it 10 years before it happened.
"it" ?

Barbara Walters is awful, such an ego... "I just made your show so popular" Unbearably arrogant
Brett Chambers she said it three times and made a point of announcing how offended SHE felt. people like her pretend to be unselfish but are actually the most self-centered.
Well, I'm sure she did. She has millions watching her show...
She said it like three times, too.

She said she didnt care about the swearing
Amazing how Louis resisted just destroying them. You could tell he was so uncomfortable with the mindless, baiting banter.
"Plus, can these women lose 8lbs in 9 days eating pizza, fries, and steak?" That says everything about this type of show
i love how they clearly don't know hes the creator of the movie 'pootie tang'

Joy is such a star. Always finding a way to defend comedians. So honorable of her.
I like how Elisabeth keeps pronouncing it Lewis despite having heard it being said Louie numerous times.
"when you throw that term around it doesn't mean anything anymore" and now it's too late.
Racial humor and intense racism are very different things!
All of the woman were full of negative things to say until he came out. The whole energy changed once he was face to face.
I cannot stand how indignant they act. It's nauseating. Truly

Louis CK on The View is like if GG Allen played at a megachurch.
What a real battle axe
That black chick is really cool actually
The New York Times said Lucky Louis deserved an Emmy. Now that's funny. In retrospect
This clip will never not be fucking hilarious

Black Lady: Is not receptive of this.

Louie is talking to Chris Rock during the conversation in the beginning.
