Definitely Watch the Japanese version also. They actually say different things too like when Zoro is declaring to be Luffys first mate, in Japanese he actually says the "Pirate king" line.
But the subtitles are off and it will just show the original English speech. But of you are a one piece fan you will recognise certain words and phrases.

also when they were fighting Alvida, LA Luffy said "You are as dumb as a sea cow" but in Japanese, he said "You are as weak as a sea lion(?)" also, they got the originals voice actors for every character, Coby, Alvida, Zeff, Mihawk, everyone (even the narrator). it was so weird hearing Garp's VA sound so serious like that XD
I love all their differents reactions when asked how they felt when One Piece was announced to get a live action adaptation. All unsure how One Piece could be live action.
This should be an interesting challenge for the original cast, plus it almost feels like we've come full circle. They have had so much amazing work dubbed, and now here they are dubbing what us westerners are making.

So I found out that if you change your Netflix profile language to Japanese, it will show the Japanese audio! Unfortunately, it will change all of the Netflix text to Japanese. 😅 But set "音声" to "日本語" and set "字幕" to "英語 (字幕カード)" .

Don't you love it when you see collective efforts from different angles being recognized??? I love hearing the side of the live-action Japanese seiyuus, especially since they are the original seiyuus for the anime.
I can't imagine other voice actors besides them for all the characters, but most especially, I can't imagine other voices for Luffy and Zoro. Their voices are like especially made for Luffy and Zoro.
They are amazing people! I like their polite appreciation of the life action and work of the translators while also mentioning what was difficult. いい人だね。
When I first watched the LA in English I felt a disconnection and was very critical of the series. But when I rewatched it in sub with the original VAs it suddenly became 100x better. The acting and story was suddenly better too so I got no qualms with it anymore 😅❤
I am so proud for Mayumi be Luffy for 25 yeas years and That voice travel over all the world from Japan to North America, Africa, Europe, Latin America, Asia, Australia!!! Best Anime Ever!! 🏆
I'm bad with remembering names, he sounds pretty normal here, but Zoro's VA has such a badass voice. I just got finished playing one of the Legend of Heroes games where he has a role, and all I could hear was Zoro (character even had green hair). Really made my day to hear him pop up.
it's of coure harder, since they have to synchronize their words to the mouth movement of the person. In the anime it's the other way around. First they speak and then they animate it according to that.
Really wish the Japanese dub was available on netflix outside of japan. I got hyped to hear the original cast and then saw no Japanese language option in netflix in the US.
I don't know if this might help, but when I opened a new netflix account, they gave me the options to choose the languages I want to be available, and got it, so probably it can be change through settings
What i did from spain was to login netflix from pc internet browser. I dont know why, but there japanese is available unlike smart tv and phone. So I selected japanese in the pc browser, closed the browser, then went to tv and could watch it in japanese, hope it may help.
That would be an excellent cameo and hilariously ironic (the OG voices being the “fakes”), but knowing the language barrier, that would be hard. Maybe a voiceless cameo would be best.
I'd love it if one of them played Crocus. Actually, correction. I'd love it if Cho played Crocus. They might not get to introduce Brook, and it would be a marvelous way to include him. And far, far, far more importantly, in an alternate universe Brook and Laboon are still together 😭😭

Yeah,Zoro in the LA isn't as annoyed or angry as the anime. Wish they showed Zoro with more emotion. Zoro is naturally cool but that doesnt mean hes super cool all the time. In fact, he gets super annoyed / frustrated at Luffy dragging him into trouble like he's thinking, "WTF did you just do, you IDIOT?!!". But of course, if its a fight, he'll smirk and join in. Honestly, almost all of them have a bit of an anger issue except Robin. lol
I like to believe they will make him goffier as the adventure continues, but after a certain point hell just go full circle and become edge again just like post time-skip zoro

When I watch anime I prefer to have the original Japanese dub with english subtitles. I wonder if Japanese viewers prefer to watch Hollywood movies with the original English dub with Japanese subtitles or just watch it with the Japanese dub?
if you go to a cinema in Japan, you need to wait for 2-3 weeks until the original movie is out in cinemas. Bc they will show the Japanese dubbed movies 1st, regardless of which country the movie is from. and the ticket for the original one is cheaper than the dubbed one!
Yeah, I'm not a fan. But seeing their dedication in voicing the characters like....their entire life is sooo wholesome and sad too. Hope they will always be in good health.
I'm a Mackenyu fan but idk why i don't really like how he act as Zoro here. Visual wise yeah definitely good but character wise not really. He makes Zoro looks so boring and uninteresting. Idk if this is the concept that the producer want but real Zoro is much interesting than what he try to potray. Zoro isn't edgy and quite tho

Not really. It's already animated and they speak according to movements even in anime. Hence it's not just a simple job of just talking on the mic.
