This program is great. I recall hearing it from time to time long ago;, but this is a special treat for it to be on RUclips. The original commercials make it even better from a simpler world👍👍
So great to be able to close my eyes and use my imagination..... finally a benefit of a smart phone ... use to listen to these as a kid ... so pure ...
Well said.
The smart phones these day's actually can be cool, this is one of the few things that I like.
Bang on guys
I like the commercials, adds to the charm of the show and the times, the best times ever👍😉
If the words "I like the commercials" came out of my mouth, pretty sure I'd combust into a cinder. ;)
Listening to this show takes me back to when I was a kid. Really enjoy it a lot...
Could not agree more!!!! And the news segments are great too! True escape from the present…
Love these shows! I am 35 years old and it was my father who would tell me about this show. I mentioned to him last weekend that I have found them on youtube to listen on. The music started boring me at work so i finally tuned into these and i am hooked. Thanks Chilly
You're one of a kind
Same here.. aren't these great👍

The fact that your dad told you about this... That's incredibly special and totally awesome.
I am so glad I stumbled upon this channel!! It brought back memories of a simpler time and family. We just don’t have anything like this airing now, certainly not on radio or television. I even enjoy listening to the adverts. Thank you so much for posting!
I do a radio show similar airs tonight at 9 on WRWO 94.5FM
Loved listening to these stories, every Saturday night. Please continue.
I remember listening to the CBS Mystery on this s M all transistor radio I had as a young boy. Sweet memories
I remember riding my first bike to west Dallas Texas and listening to this. Then road the 12 miles back home and listened again. Thank u for doing this. If u don't do this who will. I smile when I think about those bygone times.
Thank you chilly, started driving in 70s I listened to this kind of radio all the time in my beat up first car!
Great show, I remember listening to these shows when I was younger
1974
I listened to these old radio stories from the 1970's until they were taken off radio in the 80's, it's a shame most millennials have no time or use for theater of the mind ,I just finished the 1950's series I remember as a child X Minus 1 & fell back into Mystery theater ,so much better than tv .
OMG X Minus 1 was terrific
Dimension X is equally terrific!
If ur still alive old timer I'm a mellinial and I am here, I've listened every night to stories before bed
Don’t forget Dimension X
I was born in 75, and grew up listening to these with my single father on our long road tried.
We grew up listening to these and reruns of the ones he grew up with. In the 40s on.
Ha. You found the perfect picture to illustrate this story. Nice attention to detail there. Great episode, too. Thanks so much.
My Grandmother used to listen to these shows all the time and when I was with her, I did too! She told me not to telly Mom!
I have a lot of recordings of some early CBS MT and also X-1 and dimension X. But not the later ones so it's really nice hearing them on here. Thanks .
So bored of hearing the good aliens trying to save our planet from us.
Listened to these every Sunday night on my little am clock radio still comforting after all these years and how in the world can you dislike
Thank you x
This keeps me feeling like everything is ok...
IKR ??? WELL PUT...TY...😘
I listened to these on AM radio in bed when I was a kid. Love it!
Outstanding!

@@barbarachurchill5304 haha no 😂
carl esq Sounds like a perfect evening! I’m esq too!
Ahh the memories this brings back. The 70s, the best time for a boy. Before all the gadget's and distracted life we have today
I agree although I grew up in the 80s. 2019 is like some bad sci-fi film.
I was 15 when i started listening 1974 memories good memories.
Oh wow I grew up in the 60s and 70s. 2019 was a walk in the park 2020 is A Syfy nightmare and it’s only half over🤪
Dude even the late 90s -- early 2000s we had instant Messenger apps. But it wasn't real life. It wasn't pervasive all the time 24/7 wtf I feel so bad for these kids man
So true, man! I was a kid in the 1970s, too. Probably one of the best decades to grow up in despite the fashions being kind of wacky. No helmets when riding bikes, no “participation trophies”, no girls in the Boy Scouts and no girls in the Boy Scouts, no computers, no video games, no texting, etc, etc.
love these stories, please keep them coming and thanks.
Hey the visual cinematography of this upload is incredible look at that camera angle that's sheer genius. The light's perfect it's masterpiece. Look at how it brings out the greenness of that...thing. it's verdant! 😄
Exactly what i was looking for, straight out of nowhere. Amazing ! Thank you.
You're welcome Jason....Enjoy!
I never thought that I could enjoy radio sci-fi but this was an excellent story.
The narrator, E. G. Marshall, refers to an alleged encounter between an army helicopter and a UFO in Ohio. Here is a description of that 1973 event from a 2012 edition of the Cincinnati newspaper, CityBeat.
"On Oct. 18, Capt. Lawrence J. Coyne was at the controls of a U.S. Army Reserve Super Huey flying at 2,500 feet on a crystal clear night not far from the city of Mansfield when a strange red-light appeared in the southeastern sky (cue the creepy music).
"Seconds later, Coyne and the rest of his three-man crew watched in shock as the red light made a beeline straight for their Super Huey. Coyne grasped the copter’s throttle stick and dove. The Super Huey was descending 2,000-feet per minute and moving at 100 knots. But it was useless - the red light was moving at a speed that defied logic.
"Miraculously, mere moments before collision, the Super Huey was paralyzed. Coyne remembers the altitude was 1,700 feet when the mysterious red light revealed itself: It was a featureless, metallic-colored, cigar-shaped craft with no windows, as the crew would later agree. It hovered in front and slightly above their helicopter. The red light was positioned on the front nose cone of the ship.
"Suddenly a sickly green light glared from the top of the UFO. A green light that quickly formed a cone-ish, searchlight appearance, and slowly swiveled towards the front of the helicopter - flooding the cockpit.
"Within seconds the cigar-shaped ship disengaged from the Super Huey, but as in any good horror flick, Coyne and crew were not out of the woods. The helicopter’s compass disk began spinning out of control, Coyne told military investigators, and the copter itself was ascending at a 1,000 feet-per-minute clip even though Coyne insisted he had the throttle stick pressed forward in descent mode."
awesome..brings back fond memories..
Really good UFO story🌙
Wonderful silliness 🤣😹👾
This is a great story channel. Glad I stumbled upon it. Merry Christmas!
THANK YOU ! LOVE THE COMMERCIALS ALSO ! ADDS TO THE HISTORY OF THE TIME !
I would have taken two rolls of film and only gave the Army one roll of film...
But honestly do you believe in spaceships ?
As Agent Moulder says, "I want to believe!"
Once again, Thanks so much! =o)
I loved 😍 listening to this on WBBM 78 back in the 1970s to the mid-1980s or so 😊! Recently subscribed to this channel. Words can't express how grateful I 🙏 am to find these shows again on RUclips. Too young to have heard them back in the 1940s to 1950s when radio serials were being broadcast everywhere ; however, my dad told me about a company called Radio-Ola ." Contacted them and found a cornucopia of great radio 📻 shows, comedy, suspense, and more. Found more on OTR and looking for more.😊
Awesome show. Thank you for posting.
Loved this thank you.
You're welcome.
You have amazing beauty my Lady !!!
Love the old timey radio shows. Also find it kinda funny that all space names from that era have the letter Z in them for some reason.
Except for this one... Rotar
There's a Mexican drug cartel called, "Los Zetas". Zetas were the officers who formerly served the Mexican government's counter drug efforts.
The actual Rendelshem Forest incident in UK is what you are trying to recall. If you haven't read or heard of it there are videos of the actual soldiers stating what happened. It occurred in the 80's. They spoke openly at a 2010 or later United Press International conference.
The conference was all top official military and Government officials speaking on personal UFO experience. It's mind blowing.
Montgomery Burns as The Major .... LOL :D
Aiferapple THAT’S Who it is!!! Release the aliens!!!
It does sound like Montgomery Burns
thanks for the great shows!!
You're welcome Bob.
All waves are eternal
I was listening to this whilst redoing the power lead on my cb in my truck.... haha very fitting
One of these guys in here sounds 'exactly...like Lionel Barrymore. spot on. ( 'Mr. Potter...from "It's a Wonderful Life')
He did dozens of them
Magnificent! Falling on deaf ears! We are too full of hate to survive!
Thanks
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!
If some beings like the ones in this story try to warn us about our destructive ways, I fear that the message will fall on deaf ears....... which not long after would become dead ears.
It already has fallen on deaf ears
The new Space Force has detoured all alien aggression.
Love this one
Great idea to destroy nuclear weapons x
I’m dying laughing Zolton sounds like Apu!
They just missed " John Madigan WBBM New radio...sssseventy eight"
Orson wells war of the world's was awesome!
The new Space Force has detoured all alien aggression.
I go to sleep with these playing on my phone. Sleeping 😴 🛌
They saved the biggest science fiction of all til the end....that Porcelaina medicated skin cream can fade age spots!!!
I love when they do comedy.
Chilly, you're the bestest!
what a bugger!
What in Sam hell...
The aliens say they're indestructible yet they're worried about Americans being destructive
too many commercials even back then!
moo moo I didn’t think it was too bad but I enjoyed the commercials also
I liked the commercials they seem very innocent not like now.
moo moo I love the commercials! Food was way cheaper but gadgets cost the same then as they do now.
Enjoy the commercials brings back memories
Fast forward if you don't like them
Spoiler alert, below:
Normally I love these, and usually thoroughly enjoy vintage Sci-Fi from the 1940s through the present. This was interesting and mostly enjoyable, but had so many holes in it.
1) Why is an Army Major blabbing details about Project Counter Strike to civilians, and how would this project already be known worldwide? Incredibly unlikely.
2) Snowmobiles go undetected by aliens capable of faster than light travel, nuclear physics?
3) Aliens whose eyeballs emit great amounts of electricity to kill or disable people, also presumably destroy other objects?
4) The alien was defeated so easily so as to be captured. Incredibly unlikely as they would have studied us in great detail.
5) Supposedly nuclear explosions in our atmosphere can travel through light years of space and pollute their planet? Scientifically impossible!
6) The age: old military bad, weapons bad, spacemen good - it was overdone in the 1950s and worn out in the 1970s and such drivel today.
7) Allowing civilians into the base?! Unless the world is coming to an end, that will not happen! There was a blizzard and UFO sighting - not an Extinction Level Event!
Now Get to Bed , You Have School Tomorrow !!❤
The space alien sounds suspiciously like Mork from ork I.E. Mork and Mindy listen June 21 2020
They just don’t make radio adverts for crystal meth like they used to.
Lmao
Wasn't crystal, no methane.. but close enough.. lol
With Lloyd Bridges as the spokesman

Very cool when you’re old enough to remember when they were new commercials.
