Its impossible to determine who's wrecker is the "best",, for every recovery person has a what works best for themselves, in the particular environment each operates,, Rory at trailmater, Matt's off-road, and others even have multiple rescue rigs for different scenarios, vehicles, locations,, and each is built according
Getting closer to having everything functioning correctly again on the SnoCat. All the tedious fiddly details take the longest to finish but are so important.
Best off road recovery channel on You tube! Nice old school kit :-) I couldn't afford a wheel off some of these new motors that are appearing now... Thanks Eric!
They may have bigger wreckers but yours is the true offroad king of wreckers. I agree definitely got to get a way were all them come up to Minnesota Wisconsin area like for wrecker games 2026
Wrecker is getting some good upgrade finalizations. Lights are looking good. Nice job on the wires. Those things can be a real pain. Next, I'd do the heater clean-out and lube that fan up so it don't leave you without hot air on the windshield when you need it. 😀
Lights look great, you teasing that little puppy dog 😂 get in there key's on AND NO RIDE that's not fare 😂😅 can't wait to see it in action 😂, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Great video Eric! I spent my working career as an Electrical/ Electronic Tech., and your attention to detail is like no other. Thanks for sharing, it was much enjoyed for me. Recently I have become familiar with Electrolytic Grease. I now put it on all connections that I make. Keeps the corrison down, and especially the outside connections stay well connected. Be Safe, and God Bless!
Me too, retired end of 2023. An example is battery terminals. I learned to grease vehicle battery terminals and clamps from an older mechanic and have been doing so since my early 20's. The light grease is displaced by the tight connection of metal on metal. What grease is left behind blocks out moisture and corrosive gasses from getting into the tiny irregular pits and scratches in the metal. Prevents the sort of battery terminal corrosion that often prevents vehicles from starting.
ya i agree i would like to see some of those guys in the bush and mud you go thought but i have say each tow truck is built for the area its in ,routing wires is a harder job than it looks i've been there done that im glad your able to go to the games should be awesome
Matt definitely needs to come visit sometime and experience the trails in your area. You should invite him to one of the big events your club has, I bet he’d come to one someday
I don't know if you noticed, but it looked like your hole saw arced out on the yellow wires when it punched through into the cab at just after 4:03 - be sure to check those wires and tape up any damaged insulation, really don't want to see it catch fire! LOL
It was actually your channel that got me into watching videos like these. I think I found Matt's channel shortly afterwards when all he used for recoveries was the Banana and the rope. He didn't believe in winches very much.
Just a suggestion: If you paint the exhaust stacks with flat black exhaust paint not only will they reflect light less they will also look better, more finished.
Like others has said, Paula mentioned that they will be at the off road games this year. Don't know about Merin going to the game, but I do know Merlin will be going to Glamis, in California on March 1st.
@10:55... It was like I was standing on my head! 🤪🤪 @12:00... Regarding the Headliner; I'd use Hush Mat, then glue fabric to the Hush Mat. @15:41... Yes, I think the Northern Midwest Mud would flabbergast some of those guys from Out West. I can only imagine the amount of mouse poop you're going to have, when you clean out that heater box! Man, that was a lot of hair!
All you guys have built your wreckers for your specific area so things are gonna be different. As for the mega-wreckers, they are cool but only in certain situations. Sometimes too big will be a hinderence.
All these off-road wreckers are built around different terrain. Those much larger wreckers cannot get into many of the places that Eric deals with, or that Matt or Rory get into. There's plenty of overlap of course, lots of jobs any one of these wrecker builds can do. But when it comes to the specific terrain each was designed around the abilities of each either soar or fail. Nothing wrong with that.
Dont forget chad's got Griz, and Robby has King Fred. Those along with Paul's Rat rod wrecker, and Rory's trail mater is more in line with your wreckers size. I would say Merlin's is much larger, similar to that of Matt's just smaller tires. I know what you mean eric, there is some really insane RUclips attention grabbing wreckers.. MORR Heavy Wrecker, Murphy's Hellboy, Viking Motors Green Monster, MX6 rig, even the Peak brothers i think it was had the world's largest smallest off-road wrecker or something. The white one lol. Its kinda out of a control lol. Troys toys also has some big rigs. It would be cool to also see your friend Wyatt's Towing there! Hes got some very cool rigs. The world should see his stuff! Its going to be a fun year! Cant wait to see you at the games eric and team!
Go to the wrecker games, have fun, your wrecker is perfect for you,, and while there put the word out that they should come ride around for a event or perhaps have your own wrecker games type event,,, your recovery rigs are spot on to the rigs you recover in the area you operate,, your rigs AND crew,, are perfect as they are,,, for each person doing recovery builds and equips their rigs to match and suit the conditions, needs, what have you, for what they do, how they do things, and deal with things in general,,,, those you mentioned just suffer napoleon complex, or are overcompensating for other shortcumings,, I'm in total agreement that Matt, Rory, paul, and a few others bring their rigs to one of the events that are local to you
I hope you read your comments Eric Auburn Washington forever you are the OG nobody cares about the process they care about the product this show how it ended up and how you got there without actually doing it more people will click on your shit and hang out while you do it if you just skip through
I love you Eric I've been watching you forever but I have an idea now that you're doing RUclips as a semi-retired extra income maybe show the productivity of what you actually accomplished rather than the process do kids these days get bored easily you do a lot of cool shit the clickers are the kids we got to get to the point where they're going to get bored I wish you the best God bless I'll still keep watching I'm just an old guy trying also but I have a new channel pop jays shop are we watch my videos later and think I could have done a lot better if I would have kept their attention longer like some of your older videos did

Doesn’t matter to me what those other guys build your wrecker will always be the original and best.

Eric, I for one would love to see Matt, Rory, Paul, Merilin, and Robby come out to do some recoveries at the events in your aera.
And Chad
I would like that too. We'll have to figure out a way to make it happen

You have the best tow truck on you tube.

Paul is going
Puppy wants to ride the cat. ❤😊
Paul mentioned in a video he will be at the off road games, It would be great if you were able to put on some kind of event here.
Wrecker is getting some good upgrade finalizations. Lights are looking good. Nice job on the wires. Those things can be a real pain. Next, I'd do the heater clean-out and lube that fan up so it don't leave you without hot air on the windshield when you need it. 😀

Headliner!? What's next?... fuzzy dice and tassles? ❤ love your patience, Eric.
The Patience & Dedication....i wouldnt have already run out......

Yeah, that mini Rotator Wrecker is a beast!
Great work, can't wait until we get to the headliner being installed.
heated mirrors are a must have idem. a lot of clubs add shields on the doors to keep the snow off as the snow will be flying when your under power.
Nice job Eric, that was a very clean installation. 👌 Thanks for the video 👋 📹
The Midwest challenge has been made! Who will expect?

Looks like the pup wants to go for a ride and that as much as you do. You need some snow.

Paul got his wrecker going in his last video he put out and said he was going to the wrecker games
Coolest snow cat around
That would be so awesome if they all come to our neck of the woods for an event or something......
Looks great 👍. God Bless Y’all 😊
19:55 Eric, you should invite Matt to bring his off-road wrecker out to drive some trails.
Like others has said, Paula mentioned that they will be at the off road games this year. Don't know about Merin going to the game, but I do know Merlin will be going to Glamis, in California on March 1st.
You should consider adding a couple of those blind spot mirrors to your side view mirror so you can get a bigger view to the back.
Cool rig. Hope you get to use it soon 😊
And Paul from Fab Rat's said in his last video that he is going to the games.
I'm glad he's going to be at the games, I'm sure it'll be fun. 👍
Yep. A little bit at a time will get it done.
keep the clips coming
Looking good. Glad to see Cat getting some love. 😊😊😊😊
You ever make it up to Alaska, lemme know - I'll put some steaks on for ya. Liking the more relaxed sort of videos, but hope you don't get bored!
Great Video! Like Always
Maybe you should ask them to do that

Bring your rig out and have them follow you!lol😅 if they can't cut it you get the last laugh! Remember you are the original gangster of recovery!
4.04 any one else see the flash think he just blew a fuse

Are you going to use those lights to melt the snow? Seems contradictory with a sno cat
advertise for the event, get sponsors to back you,,,,,,make it happen!!!!!
Invite them out to your play ground
I hope you read your comments Eric Auburn Washington forever you are the OG nobody cares about the process they care about the product this show how it ended up and how you got there without actually doing it more people will click on your shit and hang out while you do it if you just skip through

it Was flexible enough.
Solder and heat shrink not crimped connections, you will probably soon find out why.
They may have their wreckers and snocats, but they don't have a snocat wrecker
WD40 goes a long way for stuffing wires through grommets.
😁👍👍
There should be different classes. It's not right to pit your truck against something like that.
