I'm new to K-pop but from what I can see there is a strong bias against Twice (TT-Cheer Up-What is love-Yes or Yes-Heart Shaker-Like ooh ahh-DTNA- Likey etc) because they are so good at cute concept. When this prejudice is broken, it is immediately clear what a talented and special group Twice is.
That bias doesn't exist in South Korea, though. They're considered the Nation's Girl Group in South Korea. They followed SNSD in that role.
Yeah well who gives a fuck, if newbies want to listen to western sounding music they can listen to their western artists. Blackpink and BTS are the only ones they know they only like girl crush or loud ass shit and yk what that's fine. But Twice's pop discography is untouchable. They cover all bases and that's why they're the nations girl group and Asias girl group. They have cute pop hits, retro sounding pop hits and also funky and fun pop hits with meaning (Likey, Feel Special)

One thing that's interesting about twice songs are that ALL music videos are somehow connected. There's a story line with all the songs. BUT SPECIFICALLY these 4, It all began in "Fancy" when Jeongyeon (girl with roses) pricks her finger on the rose and becomes the snake. And then in "More and More" She becomes the snake (Satan) and Mina is eve. Jeongyeon tries to make the girls eat the apples out of the garden of eden, Which Mina falls for by eating, DOOMING all of them, That's where "I cant stop me" comes, They are banished from eternity (heaven) in "More and more" so in "I cant stop me" they have to choose weather to stay in the sinning life and die (the train) or beg for forgiveness to god (Jihyo) They chose to ask for forgiveness, BUT they are too late, They all die and get sent to hell (CRY FOR ME)

The cute and bubble gum concept that Twice was first well-known of was at the beginning of their career.
Actually, Twice are well-known for a lot of things too. Like, having b-sides songs that can easily be title track songs if given to another K-pop group, their versatility and duality as they tackle varying genres in both their b-sides and title track songs, kpop with most catchy phrases and choruses, one of the kpop gg that have all the members participated in song writing and some even in composing, powerful and complicated dance choreography, flexibility, funny, cute and kind personalities of every members that was often being praised by the people who worked with them and the people around them in general, the kpop gg that has won most number of awards, record setter and record breaker, and many more.
If you decide to delve deeper into Twice, you’ll see for yourself and get to know personally why Twice was the most loved and respected gg not just by the fans and co-workers but even the other kpop idols themselves.

From girly concepts to mature concepts, some fans hated the change but I think it is more of a common sense since the members are also aging. I just hope people respect the way they evolve. Listen to Feel Special it has a really deep meaning for Twice and whenever you know their story listening back you will understand it all through the song. I myself have been into kpop just this year its kinda bad cause I missed a lot but here I am catching up and also its always that when it comes to kpop you cannot just stan one but slowly you become open to other groups as well.

Im ok with the change, but I like their pre-mature concept too since its unique (likey, TT, what is love?, heart shaker, signal). I havent listen to twice in a while, so when I hit spotify and just listen to their songs randomly, there are “is this twice songs?” moments for me cuz its sounds like a different girl group. But all I can say 80% of their songs are bop. Other 20% are emotional

Watching to Twice’s MVs really shows their vast discography, every single MV has a unique different concept, they are not afraid of stepping out of the trend. They are the trend, their concept is Twice concept
When you watch it again, please watch More & More before I Can't Stop Me, because they're connected story wise. More & More is like they're in heaven (Eden), but they wanted more. There's the symbolism of the snake and the apple, which they bite and that's when they go to the "real world" and it's all bright and amazing. Following there's I Can't Stop Me, in which they're facing their own greed and the desire for things they know they shouldn't want, but they want regardless. The lyrics talk about the red line they can't stop themselves from wanting to cross. And there's the symbolism of the subway, that can take you to many places, but once you get inside one train, there's no going back and the consequences of your decision will eventually reach you, like the end of the trail and the sandstorm.
more & more is a lot of once’s least favorite title track but honestly it’s one of my favs. the song and the music video are so fun and creative !!!!

Nayeon does the remainder of the Adlibs.
14:35 - that there is Jeongyeon, one of the lead vocalists in the group. Although she doesn't get the amount of lines she deserves she always be slaying vocally and could arguably be considered the 2nd best vocalist in twice.

The girl singing the “I want you to I want you to I want you to cry for me” in the first half of the song is their visual she’s the youngest and one of the 4 foreign members her name is Tzuyu (Tz-we), though they all could pass as visual. The girl in CFM where you thought the visual is Sana one of the 3 japanese members. Nayeon the girl who sang the highnote adlib in the feels you got that one right

Since then I've been a totally fan and now have almost 50 of their songs on my usb key that I listen when I drive... A few months after I discovered Itzy... and followed Niziu... JYP girl groups has something that I like... All these girls could be my daughters, I'm impressed by their talent, they have something refreshing that i's really pleasant...

I am Asian and I love any music that is good: be it rock/pop/punk/jazz/classic. I will be impressed by the cool concept and I will also appreciate the cute concept. I don't see any specific concept to be superior than others. But I cannot understand why multiple Westen KPop fans have prejudice over cute concept? Any explanation? Hope this helps Twice to crush that stereotype and let more people in the west to appreciate their talent and enjoy them. BTW, I can relate to your reaction over snow: I used to be hardcore soccer fan but after I am obsessed with Twice, live soccer game is no longer priority over new Twice content.
