My favorite blacks are HT Black Holo Wish, Waste of Space, and Electrostatic. I also have one black to colorless thermal from Chameleon Nails called Cortana that I love.
For Cuticula's Dragon Glass, I've heard that called the "pond effect". For me, I use ILNP's Ink (and just got Victorian Varnish Obsidian for the value). My favorite specialty blacks are Holo Taco Bat B*tch, ILNP Deep Space and Clionadh Gravity Well. I'm actually on a low-key search (as in, I'm not actively searching but it's on my mind) for a polish that'll look like a Star Wars sky (space sky?) on my nails! I tried black cream + Cirque Snow Angel and it wasn't right.
Really nice choices! I have china glaze liquid leather for my go to one coater for nail art. And i also have that magical ILNP-its one of my coolest polishes.
So I actually tried an "Eclipse" dupe from KB Shimmer called "Obsidian" and I really enjoy it! I believe it was a "polished with rae" video that informed me about it.
Just aquired 2 new fave shattered holo , glisten and glow Scorpio, and Wildflower shattered... love them. Similar to each other. My bottle if alter ego is dying so I wanted something different... love them
Just checked my spreadsheet and I don’t even have 5 black polishes! Apparently I lean more towards dark charcoal grey. My favorite is an oldie - L’Oréal Rough Around the Edges. I loved Butter London Black Night but my bottle got so old I replaced it with KBS Take the Stairs. My one and only black cream is Sally Hansen Black Out. Years ago I had and loved Color Club Revvvolution but lost it in a move 😢
My favourite black is an Emily de Molly magnetic that’s a galaxy in a bottle polish. The magnetic pigment is green to blue to purple multichrome and there’s scattered holo in it too!
I use the same cremes. I wonder which category you would put Holo Taco Existential Crisis.....I think it fits in the black, but it really is a kitchen sink. The black with red glitter polish I have is Swamp Gloss' I Thought the World of You which is part of the Bifrost trio. 🖤

I don't own a lot of black polishes. Out of my 2 creams CG Liquid Leather wins. I only own 1 topper, Sally Hansen Ruffle. It's various sizes of matte black hex glitters. For fun finishes I guess I would have to say Cupcake Polish Jingle Jangle(from PPU) and OPI Turn Bright After Sunset. I do own Eclipse, but have only worn it once and didn't care for it. It looked black 99.9% of the time. My nails were REALLY short at the time, so perhaps that was part of the problem. I have to try it again.
For me, black nail polish is my go-to for Halloween. My faves are Eclipse by ILNP (and I will say this was the 1st polish I saw w/ that black-red chrome finish), Fall-O-Ween Festival by Chaotic Glitz (black jelly full of flakies, looks like sparks from a bonfire at night), Elusive by Revlon (another black jelly full of teal green glitter), and Lubu Heels by China Glaze. On the subject of crackle polish, I feel like they were pretty popular when they 1st came out; then suddenly people just started HATING them. Zoya was the only brand who still sold one, but nobody really cared. Then Holo Taco released one, and suddenly people are LOVING them again. 🤔 I had a black one from OPI, but it finally dried up literally to DUST in the bottle. The ones I REALLY like are a pale gold and silver duo from Sally Hansen, that I got as a gift. The gold finally dried up 😔, but the silver is still going strong, and I love it in the winter time, over a dark creme color.
The Orly is the only black cream I have. Cracked Polish came out with a one coat black, according to Caitlin. I just don’t use black that often. I’ll try it one of these days, just out of curiosity. Thanks for the video!
Oh Hillary, you must layer Dragon Glass over a black base! The flakies are more sparse across the nail and they pop SO hard! And yes, I believe ILNP Eclipse was the first released black/red multichrome.
An entire bottle of Seche Vive (the blue bottle) wouldn't cover Belugaria. 😅 i haven't looked at my bottle in years, but i bet it's dry as a popcorn fart by now. That was def an avant garde polish for sho.
I own 3 bottles of zoyas leopard spots, I LOVE it. I have been collecting OPI crackles, I can’t get enough rn lol As far as black goes, I can vouch for Starrilys vanta black, it’s a great one coater. Also, in terms of a black linear holo, color club ‘beyond’ is one of my favorites. I have the i scream cream nails version, and it’s super disappointing.
IT IS INCREDIBLE! To be fair there’s a bunch of similar polishes or dupes out there. I have one from fair maiden that is reallyyy similar but probably hard to find now. Cirque I think also had one but I haven’t tried it.
My black cream is from Wet n Wild and is over 10 years old but still works well as a one coat black 😄

I like the Orly 'Liquid Vinyl' and the Salon Perfect 'Oil Slick' when it comes to the black cremes. Price per mil for them is perfection.
When I saw the name I thought she was talking about China Glazes black cream "Liquid Leather". That is my current black polish. XD

I have 23 blacks including toppers. I like Holo Taco Black Holo Wish, Blacklisted, Orly View From L2 ,In the Moonlight, and Sunglasses at Night.
