Bazel build analytics with ThoughtSpot

ThoughtSpot is a leading data analytics platform that empowers users to easily search, analyze, and visualize their data and gain actionable insights from their data quickly. At ThoughtSpot, we maintain a Bazel monorepo with over 300 contributors, encompassing multiple languages such as C++, Golang, and Python. We’ve been using ThoughtSpot to gain insights on our Bazel build data with really great results.
In this talk, we will shed light on how we do that. From extracting relevant build data and pushing it to the DB to how we consume the data in ThoughtSpot to create ‘build summaries’, ‘trend liveaboards’, ‘answers’, ‘KPI monitors’ etc.. We’ll discuss the challenges we faced. We’ll also cover ThoughtSpot features that make it really easy to observe trends and identify anomalies. We’ll share a few examples showing how users can get started with ThoughtSpot for Bazel builds analytics.
