  • On Friday 4 June, Professor Adrian Briggs, Sir Richard Gozney Fellow and Tutor in Law at St Edmund Hall, spoke on 'Snakes and ladders: forty years of trying to make sense of the law'.
The aim was to explain how one corner of private international law - that concerned with the international jurisdiction and associated powers of English courts - was buffeted by our joining, and then being torn out of, the European Union; and to explain the impossibility of just walking away from the ruins.
