Hey! I used an old, early 2000s 8mm cassette video camera by Sony I bought at goodwill. I don’t remember the exact name of the camera, but it’s one of those hi8 ones… 🤔 the quality is degraded because the film has been recorded over a few times, giving it an awesome natural digital noise effect. Just threw the footage into premiere and chopped it together! Thanks for checking it out!
Hello, Thank you for this wonderful music! I find it soothing, and this style is truly unique. Could you tell me what genre of music this is? Also, do you have any recommandation for similar albums/artists? Thanks again for your work! Keep sharing what you do ☺️
Hi! Thank you so much for the flattery and kind words! I would call my style indie pop/dream pop with a hint of shoegaze-y layers. I usually don't really think about the genre I'm in when creating my music though, it kinda just comes out of me that way :) A lot of my "sound" comes from the eq I use, especially my Alesis “Midiverb II" which was featured prominently on a bunch of shoegaze records, like MBV's loveless. It has some unique reverb options and other sounds that aren't commonly used nowadays. I draw a lot of inspiration from Cocteau Twins and Radiohead, two of my favorite groups! Also Mac Demarco... I would definitely check out Cocteau Twins’ "Milk & Kisses", "Four-Calender Cafe", and "Heaven or Las Vegas". I think this song is really similar to another song I've made called "Valentine". I would check that one out in the bandcamp in the description or the youtube post I made a couple days ago. I think this song is also very similar to an artist named "Part Time", I would start with the song "It's Alright With Me". It's amazing!!!! I would lastly check out some Alex G, mainly his albums "Rules", "DSU", and "Trick". All of those are excellent listens and are very similar to the sound of this song, for the most part. :) Thank you again for listening and please feel free to share my stuff if you get the chance. I love sharing it with others and having interactions like this!!!!! Also let me know if you listened to any of the recs and godspeed....😋
@@nicholassinc Hi! I’ll definitely check out the recommendations you’ve shared-they sound super interesting. I listened to your album yesterday and really enjoyed it even tho i was working while listening! As for Radiohead, they’ve made some great music, but honestly, I’m kind of over hearing their name everywhere! It’s like they’re the universal password for “good taste in music” or something, haha. I’d recommend Love is a Stream by Jefre Cantu-Ledesma. It’s amazing how noise can have so much emotion, and I think you might really connect with it. Thanks again for sharing your music! 😊
@@loupchien2104 Awesome!! I will check out Love is a Stream as soon as I’m by my computer. I know what you mean about Radiohead, but they are the absolute best!! I would give them another try :)
i love the song and the quality of the video goes really well with it. what did you use to film this/what effects did you use?
