    Just wanted to say that your tutorials are absolutely amazing. I've just been watching one of your videos on sighting, and it makes so much sense ! I need to take myself back a few steps as well with regards to learning potting angles. I think I have them , and then move on to other things, playing with side etc, but in reality, I haven't actually learned that potting angle properly! God it's a hard game, but people like you make me want to keep playing!

    Thanks for the video, Steve. I had few questions if you might help with those in your upcoming videos.
    1. How to align the cue and eyesight to the line: When I focus on the line then cue would not be aligned and if I try to focus on cue alignment then I lose the shot line.
    2. How to have checks and balances for making sure cue, wrist, elbow and head are in same plain every time before shot. Do you have any trick for this?

    Before i know you, Steve i dont have any confidence to play in a tournament. But now after 3 months practicing by watching your channel n others, i have played 1 tournament, n get into the best 16. I faced the defending champion n lost the match.
    I joined another tournament n again, i got to the best 16 , again!
    My opponent is the runner up for the last season in my club. Our match will take place next Monday!
    Steve, please give me some advice for my preparation.
    I really want to win the match because i dont know why i feel really confident to beat my opponent even with my shoulder injury i just got after practicing for 4 hours straight. 😂
    I wish you all the best , coach!
    Wish me luck!
    Greetings from Wangsa Maju,Malaysia!

    This is great, and very helpful! It does look like you are putting a small amount of helping/outside siding on the majority of shots, but your diagram shows you on the middle axis of the cueball. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think you are naturally putting side on, or is it an effect of the camera angle or something?

    • @BartonSnooker
      @BartonSnooker  9 месяцев назад +1

      I am playing side on the shots - yes. Many players do play with helping side. You don't HAVE to do that, which is why I don't show it on the cue ball graphic. But yes, I am intentionally doing it on all my shots.

    Thanks for this routine. Looks easy, but it’s not. Some people can push a cue through straight- others not. Been playing and practicing hard 4 years now, still can’t do that. Max break 47, and some days can’t even pot a simple red or string 3 shots together. I set this up and missed the first straight red. It’s pathetic 😂. I’m still not sure if people like me are just bad at aiming or if it’s cue action., grip or what. You would think that after 4 years and so many hours at the table, I would have sorted aiming out and be able to see a shot, but the balls are still hard to see most of the time, and I’m always blaming cue action. Why is it so difficult? I’m ready to give up, and have been on a downer for so long now.Sorry for the rant.

    Hey Steve. Awesome videos. I had at look at where you're based today and Willenhall is a bit too far for me to travel, as much as I'd love a few coaching sessions with you (although I do see that you've had folk travel from Germany!). Any recommendations for a good coach who is in line with your calibre in Fareham/Portsmouth/Southampton? area?

    • @BartonSnooker
      @BartonSnooker  9 месяцев назад

      Hi. Thanks a lot for watching. I don't know of any other coaches as everything I teach I have designed myself. I have 100s of routines and things I have learnt over the years that helped me become the player I am today. That's all the stuff I pass on in my sessions, without getting bogged down in details that don't matter (and can sometimes actually hinder progress).

    When you use a trace/touch of helping side, do you have to make the adjustment and allow for the deflection and throw of the cue ball or just go for the aiming point you chose as if it was centre ball striking? Please guide.

    From New York here :- i play decent snooker but my question is kinda random yet much needed answer:- so, when i am building my break, as when my break gets higher and higher, my adrenaline kicks in and that is when i miss the most shots like when my break is above 40-50 thats when every miss happens naturally even though when i’m keeping my composure and focus. Why is that ? Any insights? Is this about consistency ?

    • @BartonSnooker
      @BartonSnooker  9 месяцев назад +1

      Everyone gets nervous as the break goes higher. The trick is to forget the break and just keep doing the right things. Good pre shot routine, keep still, execute the shot. If you miss, at least you did everything correctly. But remember we all get nervous.
