Yes, they could have told them all about how he had "magic", and tried to bring their children back to life. They would have been happy to know such a truth...😂
They would not have believed that. For one, we are talking about an age where even IF Bill was a suspect, the black guy would have been thought of as the true culprit. Go look at things from back them about how they are “fiends who will rape and kill white women the first chance they get.” Heck, go look at the Emmett Till case. Or the Scottsboro boys where 9 black teenagers were accused of raping 2 white women (who admitted they lied because they had been hopping states and doing sex work and didn’t want to get in trouble). All but the youngest were convicted on literally no evidence and sentenced to death, the 13 year old got life. But death was the sentence for raping a white woman. So to think that they would believe it is BS and wishful fantasies.
Unfortunately they would not be willing to change their minds about John’s innocence as stated above. I very much enjoyed the reaction to this movie and I had to pause your video so I could rewatch The Green Mile again myself.
Glad that Naveed and Mansoor were able to enjoy the movie to the end. It's quite emotional/sad for many who watch it. I don't know if they caught this, but John Coffey wanted to die. The world hurt him so much that he was finished living. I think that's crucial to understanding his execution. The deathrow police officers would have let him go had JC just said the word. Sadly, the parents of the dead girls would never believe his innocence, partly due to the bias against blacks in America, but also do to lack of evidence. Said miracles were not witnessed by the parents.
Oh wow, it's great if they want to watch movies! This is one of the best and most powerful movies ever. I am glad that they liked it, and I hope that they will watch some other movies. 😊 Thank you for your channel!
These two wonderful gentlemen mentioned westerns. Dances with Wolves is the excellent choice for them. Perfect scenery, great actors at their best. Takes you to all levels of emotional experience. They'll love it.
Yes! It was one of my favorites growing up. "Stands With A Fist" 😉. I think another great period film (although not western) is 'Rob Roy'. The writing, characters, acting are all absolutely incredible. I DESPISE Tim Roth's character so much that he's one of my top favorite villains of all time. I consider it to be his best performance.
One of my favorite movies. So glad they enjoyed it. Understood what was going down so perfectly. No translation needed. Show as many Tom Hanks films as you can. He has so many. My other favorite of Hanks is one were he survives all alone on a deserted island for years. 'CASTAWAY' He carried it with no talking, just his facial expressions and physical movements. Just another great story telling that I think the guys will enjoy with meaningful ending.
Well… not no talking, exactly; the point of Wilson was to have someone for him to talk to. But I get your point, and you are totally right. His body language and even the most minute facial muscle movements convey SO much. He’s really an amazing actor.
❤❤ Tom Hanks is an actor that most every single American loves. His movie, Forest Gump, Big, Cast Away, and Walt Disney’s movie Toy Story, are historical movies to America. Tom Hanks is one of Hollywood’s legends for all families.❤❤❤
I ran into Michael Clark Duncan in the Walmart on The Big Island of Hawaii right after this movie came out. It was the best moment of my life ❤ I read this book 100 times before I saw the movie, and have easily seen the movie 10 times. Excellent work, I love this video.
Truly enjoyed your genuine reaction to this movie. No matter how many times I have watched this I still cry my heart out. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us all.
When we saw this at the theater when it came out, the whole audience was quiet when leaving. It was so profound & really made you think. Any Tom Hanks movie would be good for them to watch. Of course "Forrest Gump" & "Saving Private Ryan" are hgis other two biggest films. "Cast Away" is great also.
@@DeusKDuo I think it will be hard for them to grasp all the American cultural references in Forrest Gump but I remember watching this movie as a young teenager and still enjoying it so it might work.
I always love watching these two react to things but this is my favorite reaction ever on this channel! I can't wait to see them watch more great movies.
Amazing reactions. I'm glad I got to see this with you guys, because that's the kind of movie that's too much for me, no matter how good it is. And this was great. But I'd be crying my eyes out during much of it, and depressed for several days after. (I have clinical depression, so I don't need to be helping myself to more. 🥺) But seeing it like this, I can handle it, and appreciate the work. Naveed and Mansoor were very affecting with their honest, deep-felt reactions. Shabash for a wonderful first movie reaction!
There are some absolutely wonderful and deeply moving films that they will enjoy I think. Great films like: “To Kill A Mockingbird”, “It’s A Wonderful Life”, “Roman Holiday”, “Forrest Gump”, “Hacksaw Ridge”, “Million Dollar Baby”, “Gran Torino”, etc.
*This one...still stays with me. I cried again seeing it for the 20th time or more. Tom Hanks is a HUGE star and a great human as well. The man who plays John Coffey is Michael Clarke Duncan and we lost him in 2012 at 54 years old. Great loss, as he was a good human in personal life. You should see Castaway and The Abyss.*
The fact that this is not only their first time watching The Green Mile but a Hollywood movie really blows my mind and and I am so grateful to be able to see their reaction.
I have watched every other movie reaction except this one until now. Now I want to go back and watch all of your other movies AGAIN!❤❤ Sending love to your friends and families from Orlando, Florida, USA❤❤

I love how this movie can transend cultures... and everyone can understand that John was an innocent man... and the struggles of that. It makes me cry every time when I watch this movie... I've seen so many react to it... truely is a favorite of mine... One looks at John and he is an imposing figure of a man... while Percy is a little shrew of a man... but as we can see... Percy while small... is full of ill intent... and just a horrible human being... while John is a gentle giant. But the worst person is still Bill... but yes it's too bad they couldn't tell the world that John was innocent and they had to carry out that order to execute him... but I think they were right in not telling their boss as there was nothing they could do about it. John just wanted to stop feeling all the hate and pain in the world ... I don't really blame him either.
This was a very good reaction video to this very good and difficult movie. To be fair to the villagers, the next movie should be a not so sad and hard one.
John Coffey was actually a hero wrongfully convicted for killing two little girls. This movie and the artistically filmed in black & white "Elephant Man" are my two favorite movies.
"We each owe a death - there are no exceptions - but, oh God, sometimes the Green Mile seems so long." Fun Fact: Originally set in 1932, the timeframe was bumped to 1935 so that the movie Top Hat (1935) could be featured. Jock Strap Incident Fact: Michael Clarke Duncan was uncomfortable with having to grab Tom Hanks' crotch for the scene where John cures Paul's urinary infection. After that, Duncan felt more comfortable with the scene. Measuring Up Fact: In reality, Michael Clarke Duncan was of a similar height to his co-star David Morse, and was a couple of inches shorter than James Cromwell. Amongst other things, creative camera angles were used to create the illusion that Duncan, as John Coffey, towered over the prison staff, even "Brutal" Howell and Warden Moores. For one scene where Paul, Coffey and Brutal were in the same shot, Michael Clark Duncan was standing on a plank, David Morse stood on the ground, and Tom Hanks was standing in a trench dug into the ground just for that purpose.
I'm giving you a thumbs-up despite not watching the video. I know what's going to happen and I don't need to go through that again at this time. Good luck, guys.
I enjoyed your reactions very much. Your commentaries at the end were suberb and filled with great insights. I am glad to see you both reacting to more movies; you do it very well.
The Green Mile is based on a Stephen King book. Most of his books are horror stories. But Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption are Stephen King stand alones. Shawshank Redemption is one of the best movies ever made. Perhaps show them that one.
The book came out in the mid 90s. It was released in 6 separate books. I'd buy 1, read it in one night, then had to wait weeks for the next one. Last book made me bawl my head off.
Michael Clark Duncan unfortunetly died in 2012 of a heart attack. His size in that movie was technically created. He was 6'5" tall but not as tall as in the movie. He was nominated for an Academy Award for the portrayal of John Coffee.
How about Interstellar for a react? It's a fantastic movie about people going to space in the future trying to save the world. Wow. This is a powerful movie. His one to watch. Had me in tears too. The guy who plays John coffee is in other films, like Armageddon, which is a great movie. His character is funny in that movie. He used to be a body guard for another actor, Bruce Willis who is also in Armageddon, then he became an actor. Great suggestions. The Fifth Element is great and all the Tarantino movies are, too. Bruce Willis and Michael Clarke Duncan were also in The Whole Nine Yards together, which is also a good movie.
I love "The Green Mile." It's one of the best films ever made, IMO. But it's awfully heavy for an introduction to Hollywood movies. I know you said you will be showing them American movies, but might I suggest you also show them the Tollywood epic "RRR" if possible. It was my introduction to Indian cinema, and now I'm hooked on Tollywood, Bollywood, etc. I think these gentlemen would be amazed by it and really proud of it. (They must see Naatu Naatu!) 😃👍
I'm really glad that they enjoyed the movie. I liked the perspective reminding me that the "green mile" of the death row wing of the prisoon is not just the mile the officers take to walk the prisoners to the executions, it is a reminder of the journey of our lives and that the green mile is also a pause in the journey to contemplate the journeys of their lives before reaching their destinations. It reminds me of the other terms I've read or heard used in other movies to name the destination of ALL oh humanities' mortal destination: Native Americans (or some Tribes) call it The Happy Hunting Ground The Celts in Ireland (Pagans if I remember correctly, who worshipped the Earth Mother...not totally remembering details, but prior to when The Romans and Christianity invaded - sorry about mixing some details) Celtish Pagans called them The Summer Lands. I like we wan share the best of ourselves and our cultures. Thank you for sharing.
The movie is based on a book by Stephen King (I love his books) which often uses the supernatural to illustrate the depths or distortions of the human mind and psyche. He is defined as a "horror book writer" but in reality he is a profound connoisseur of the human soul (with its lights and shadows), which he knows how to describe like few others. P.S. "The green mile" refers to the path that death row inmates take from their cell to the place of execution.
This is a fantastic movie, and I have seen this over 15 times and everytime I watch it, it makes me cry, anyone who said the didn't cry at this is either lying, or they don't have a heart.
also agreed the family should have known the truth.
Yes, they could have told them all about how he had "magic", and tried to bring their children back to life. They would have been happy to know such a truth...😂
They would not have believed that. For one, we are talking about an age where even IF Bill was a suspect, the black guy would have been thought of as the true culprit. Go look at things from back them about how they are “fiends who will rape and kill white women the first chance they get.”

@@deblina That's just IT. And John would just as soon die because he couldn't stand to live in a world the way that it was.

Sadly, Michael Clark Duncan is no longer with us.
He passed away September 3, 2012 from a heart attack.
I, for one, sorely miss him.
Watching this and knowing what was coming, yes, I am still crying for the injustice for this poor man.
True but as John says, he’s tired and wants the pain in his head to stop so they honoured his wish, the crying shows they didn’t want to

The Green Mile is a beautiful movie.
I like we wan share the best of ourselves and our cultures.
Thank you for sharing.
Well put reactions so insightful
The movie is based on a book by Stephen King (I love his books) which often uses the supernatural to illustrate the depths or distortions of the human mind and psyche.
He is defined as a "horror book writer" but in reality he is a profound connoisseur of the human soul (with its lights and shadows), which he knows how to describe like few others.
P.S.
"The green mile" refers to the path that death row inmates take from their cell to the place of execution.
