28 now. Was a freshman - sophomore in Central Florida skating constantly with my friends. Eric Koston had orange beanies popping. Mike Mo just came on the scene. This movie was top of the line and top shelf skating at its finest. This original comment im replying to hit me right in the feels man. Fucj.
There is something super powerful to me as an adult looking back the moment at 3:28 Something about nailing a sick trick in slow motion to a beautiful song, Pointing up at the sky in mid air like the king of the world only to immediately be shot back down in a hail of smoke and stone and lost in the dust and confusion in an instant. I know i’m looking to deep into a skate video, But that’s the special thing about art. It makes you see special moments that might not exist in the creators mind, But it means something to everyone. Fuck this video is beautiful.
This shit legitimately brings tears to my eyes, it’s so nostalgic. Brings me right back to my childhood bedroom, where I’d watch the intro to fully flared to get motivated to go out and SKATE! All these guys are truly in their prime in this era. Top 5 skate videos of early 2000’s.
I literally get teary eyed every time i watch this! Such a classic one of a kind line. Brings me back to the old days when we all skated after school 🏫 we went to comps to watch PJ lad on DC, Dew Tour and so much more. RIP Kiki and Kholton they will be forever missed. Its been 10 years since this video came out. Hard to believe its been that long haa 😆😅 time flies
8th grade when this released... time really does fly. Skateboarding gave me some of my favorite memories that I’ll cherish for life. Fully flared will always be a classic, Mike mo’s tre flips were the steeziest, I swear.
Changed the fuckin game. I was in my second year of skateboarding when this video came out. Still remember the first time I watched it at my neighbors house. 12 years old. Changed the fuckin game
Im 31 and I started when I was around 7yrs old. I was a junior in high school when this vid came out and how it motivated me. Remembering my high school days back then I was skating way more than I was at my own house.
I remember when there was a stopwatch on Lakai's website...they were ticking down the last second before the video was released. It was probably to hyped at the time but looking back is actually a great video.
I’m no skateboarder. I just discovered this song years ago from this video. Song randomly came into my head today. Can’t believe this was 9 years ago. The good times are fading
Back when all me and my friend did was skateboard. When this dropped I was in middle school and had just learned how to Ollie properly lol. Man I wish I could go back to those days...
This video got me into skateboard, M83 and Spike Jonze. Skateboard did not last (serious back problems that didn't help), but watching this makes me so nostalgic of this era.
Just watched some VICE epicly laterd episode on Spike Jonze, and had to rewatch this intro. Man I did not expect to ball my eyes out. I must be missing those days more than I thought.
Uno de los mejores Intros que marcó un antes y después en el amor hacia este increíble deporte. Época de compartir entre amigos y solo pensar en donde patinar y divertirse a mil.
Skateboarding has come a long way and these legends paved that way for these posers who can't skate making tik tok trash but you could never unsee this
Such a good time in skating. This video will forever be a classic to me. I remember my homie getting it and we would watch it religiously before skating haha. I don’t see my best bros often because we all live far away now but we still talk about these days. So fun
Saya menangis bukan kerana video ni...saya menangis sebab teringat zaman remaja yang gila-gila bersama rakan semasa bermain skateboard.. sekarang tinggal kenangan saja...sedih..
Even the bails are beautiful. The board coming right thru the cloud in frame and Cairo’s shoe turning over to see the Lakai logo, almost like it was planned
Lmfaooooo "I know a place where no planes go" I think those were the lyrics. Went with the video good, but damn .. 7 years ago.. feels like a year and alot of months. Miss those times and how everything was with the homies and everyone I remember. I only remember a handful but honestly it was still a good memory compared to my childhood
I know there is better skateboarding out there but this is probably the best 5 mins of skating I’ve ever seen in my life the music, the cinematography, the art of skating oh yea and explosions wow this was fun!
Even in 2024, it's still the best skate video 🤝
Spike jones is a legend man
idk pretty sweet is soooooooo friggin sweeeeet though. Good Looks HOme SLice
Freshman year. Time flies.
Hold on to your memories and cherish them.
Nostalgia overload
Karl Lee White fuck. we’re getting old man.
Absolutely, it's been 9 years since last went skating with my friends. I miss it all the time.
Just out of curiosity how old are you now?

So many memories from my childhood, life goes by so fast, wish I could go back.
Can’t help but feel the same way, simpler times.
The best skate video of all time, fully flared will forever be a classic

There really is an unseen power behind skateboarders in motion
12 years later and this still is so beautiful and amazing to watch... I think this will always be the best skate video intro. No one can top it.
@TUbIuyola ?
@TUbIuyola who?
@tubluyolaYou are hating on every comment without elaboration. Just shut up, salty kid.
It's pure poetry in motion
I damn near cry every time I watch this.
AJ this video showed me when i was 16 what being passionate about a craft is all about
Me too
“Damn near.” I’m tearing up before MikeMo even hits the ground.
For real. Tears every time
Song:
M83 - Lower Your Eyelids to Die with the Sun
I'm so glad we all mutually feel the nostalgia in this.
It brings the feels for sure
@TUbIuyola WTF are babbling about?
@TUbIuyola weirdo
Man how this brings me back

Top class comment bud fr
The goal of art is to inspire and I would say you were pretty inspired to write that. This intro will never not be iconic
this is why spike jonze is a genius.
I worked on this. I was a production assistant standing by with a fire extinguisher. I also got to meet Spike Jonez.
Seriously. 35 MySpace kudos to you. Use wisely cuz this was an awesome production
Thankyou for your service 🫡
Brings me back to my middle school days skating everyday wishing I was Mike Mo
Best skateboarding intro in history
I got the disc for free when I bought my first pair of lakais. Inspired me and changed my view on skateboarding forever

Hell yeah man same. It hits different when this was our life as kids. Now almost 30. Insane how time flies. Cheers

My entire adolescence. Watching this before every skate session to hype us up. Nostalgic chills..
This just brought me screaming back to the late 90’s, early 2000’s.
When skate videos back then were such a pure art form.
Yep, when videos were made just for fun. Times have change for sure
Miss that times!
Changed the fuckin game. I was in my second year of skateboarding when this video came out. Still remember the first time I watched it at my neighbors house. 12 years old. Changed the fuckin game
Watching this after 13 years. So many good memories.
Me and my friends used to watch this before going out to skate, amazing times.
Im 31 and I started when I was around 7yrs old. I was a junior in high school when this vid came out and how it motivated me. Remembering my high school days back then I was skating way more than I was at my own house.
Anybody around the Pittsburgh area still out skating?
I've been out for like 15 years but god damn does it feel good to be pushing some wood again.
I remember buying this. And watching it over and over. This intro is golden
10 Years and still the best skate video ever made

Mike Mo's switch flip is the most iconic part of the video for sure
Dude, the shot at 2:07 with the dude on his knees is just beautiful.
That’s Cairo Foster
Thank you Spike for giving us one of the all time greatest intros to a video
Still the most flawless switch flip ever done 🙌🏼
Still watchin in 2020. So powerful.
2022 here
Probably the most beautiful intro of all skate videos….I’ve been watching this since it came out…never gets old.
I discovered this a few months ago and I come back at least once a week
Pure genius
I remember when there was a stopwatch on Lakai's website...they were ticking down the last second before the video was released. It was probably to hyped at the time but looking back is actually a great video.
Absolute classic, one of the videos that got me skating
Man, those were the days... I miss them so much.
The music just adds to the serenity even with the explosions.
It’s go skate day 2021.... I always come back to watch this classic.
One of my favorite favorite parts of my skateboarding life/journey 🥲
I’m no skateboarder. I just discovered this song years ago from this video. Song randomly came into my head today. Can’t believe this was 9 years ago. The good times are fading
Fully flared might actually be the best video of all time
Only video that comes close for me is Stay Gold.
StreetWarrior24 fully flared has the better intro, but emerica was always my fave and the stay gold video was beast.
Back when all me and my friend did was skateboard. When this dropped I was in middle school and had just learned how to Ollie properly lol. Man I wish I could go back to those days...
I remember when this came out and its all everyone was talking about. And mike mo was God
Junior year of highschool for me. I'll never forget buying and watching this with the boys, my skate crew. Nostalgia for days... and simpler times.
Hits me right in the feels.
Spike jones you animal. Will always be the greatest edit intro ever
I’m not crying you’re crying
This video got me into skateboard, M83 and Spike Jonze. Skateboard did not last (serious back problems that didn't help), but watching this makes me so nostalgic of this era.
Best skate video ever and its not even close
Im back in my childhood again, sometimes it's fun to go back in time for a day.
This deserves an Oscar for best skate film.

Miss these times
I just watched this for the first time. So sick!
Here after Crailtap posted a behind the scenes of this legendary intro
Happy birthday mike mo!
Even the bails are beautiful. The board coming right thru the cloud in frame and Cairo’s shoe turning over to see the Lakai logo, almost like it was planned
my dad used to have this on his computer when i was like 6. me and my sister would watch it all the time it's so nostalgic
Because skaters ARE stuntmen to begin with.
We truly made skateboarding an art.
Seen more skate vids than I can count over the years, but this one, this one rules them all... Beautiful...
