My husband surprised me with a trip to London a couple of weeks ago, because he knows what a massive fan I am of Jemma & everything C&D. I bought loads of brownies, cookies etc and they were all HEAVENLY! I will definitely be making some of my own, now that I have a copy of the recipe book 🥰
I had such a wonderful experience in your shop, Jemma! I couldn’t quite believe I was actually there! When my husband took a pic of me outside, he said you’d think I was meeting someone famous! Well, you are my celebrities! I bought a creme egg brownie, a cornflake brownie, a red velvet cupcake, a mini-egg cookie, a chocolate cookie & some rocky road. I have to say that they were all to die for! Thank you so much for all the hard work you & your team put into making these little slices of heaven and for putting smiles on faces of people like me! I just hope my husband is aware that this has to now be an annual event! Sending lots of love 🥰
If I ever hear that you've cheated on or mistreated that saint of a man then you're catching a whooping. Oh and yes you will be picking your own switches. 🫡 But for real though 😅
@Jason-TheChad-Muska_circa1995 This made me chuckle 😊. I doubt anyone will do that to a hubby who will drive all the way to London, to pick up lovely treat from someone you are a fan of. I have a feeling he is safe 😅.
I made a trip from the US to your shop yesterday and the pleasure of getting one of these wonderful cookies. I wish I would have bought more than one, they are so good. Love your channel and joy of baking.
okay so i made these and oH MY GODDDDDDD. they were absolutely amazing. i made them for a dinner party and everyone absolutely loved them (and took some home with them). theyre heavy but theyre heavenly. i cant recommend this enough and if they dont spread for you, i slammed the baking tray on the counter halfway through baking and then again when they were done and they flattened for me. so worth it though i somehow made mine huge (150g) so i had to bake it for a bit longer but they were so good.
I made these cookies with homemade white chocolate ganache for the filling and they were AMAZING. So indulgent and rich and delicious. I will definitely be making them again!
Hi Jemma! I had to make the Oreo cookie portion without the cream from scratch so I would not have to remove the middles. Then made the entire recipe yesterday and froze them last night. Then I baked them early in the am to check them out after they cooled. These cookies are fabulous and I cannot wait to make a second batch for a friend. Thank you so much for your recipes they are fantastic. I have made so many of your cupcake recipes and now for the cookies. Thank you again for your baking creativity. Happy baking!
It is insane how serendipitous this is! This afternoon, I am making chocolate mint NY style cookies for a friend at work. I'll be using the double chocolate cookie recipe in the cookbook (using part chocolate chips and part Andes), but I was contemplating making a filling by adding a little mint oil and green coloring to melted white chocolate to put in the center. Now, to figure out how to make white chocolate spread...
@CricketsBay , thanks! My guess is that's Marks & Spencer? If so, I'm in the States, so we don't have it here (at least not in the Chicago suburbs). I ended up making a white chocolate ganache then added a little peppermint oil and light green color gel. It worked really well!
I was in London for the first time last month, and the only thing on my bucket list was to visit C&D. So glad it was only a 10 minute walk from my hotel. I got some yummy cupcakes, and cupcake keychain to bring back to LA with me!
In the US, Target has a white & dark chocolate spread that would probably work pretty well. I also saw just white chocolate spread on Amazon, but more pricey than Target.
Hey Jemma, thank you for always being cheerfully generous with all your recipes 🙏 May I ask what is in the white chocolate spread. I’m afraid just white chocolate might make it too sweet
Very nice recipie Gemma! They looks amazing! If i want to make the cookies 30 grams how many time i bake them? I ask you because i didn't like bigger cookies! Have a nice day! 👍👏🍫🍫🍫
Wow, thank you for sharing this recipe! I’ll give it a try with my sister the next time I visit her. And I’ll make sure to drop by your bakery the next time I visit London. 💕
I can't wait to try out this recipe!!! It looks so good! All I can find are hazelnut white chocolate spread so I will try the white chocolate square as many in my family have nut allergies 👍
I couldn't find "White chocolate spread" so instead I made some white chocolate ganache. It wasn't quite as soft as the white chocolate spread in the video as far as I could tell. But when I baked the cookies the ganache seeped out of the cookies. Is this a common problem? How can I prevent that? Maybe I could try cooking at a hotter temperature for a shorter time? I also found that the balls didn't deflate completely and I had to flatten them down after cooking. Thanks for any advice! Despite those small bumps in the road - they still tasted amazing!! Amazing recipe!
You can pipe the chocolate in after baking the cookies 😄 The ganache doesn't have enough fat so you could always just place a block of white chocolate in the cookie itself
I popped in your bakery the other day and tried this, oh gosh its so yummy!!!❤❤❤ Then I went home and look for this recipe in your cookbook and realised it's a new one 🤣
Thanks for this recipe Cupcake Jemma! I have just made this one but vegan, I actually make all your NYC cookies vegan. Such a versatile recipe, you cannot taste the difference and they're perfect every time! 🍪
OMG i just found your channel, I'm not understanding why my algorithm has betrayed me for so long, considering how I'm always watching baking channels. However I've found you now an I immediately hit the subscribe button. I'm so excited to make these they look DELICIOUS. I got a question, as I was looking up the black cocoa powder they were giving me flavor options of bittersweet, sweet, or dark . So I froze in fear hoping I can figure out what kind you use in your video/recipe. Can anyone let me know there thoughts, I'm not sure if that is a real thing with black cocoa powder, nonetheless I'd be grateful for any help. Thank you in advance. So excited I've found you I love making cookies, about to go binge watch your videos now.
Hi jemma, I followed up with your first NY cookie video back to couple of years ago 🎉. As I leave in Canada, I’m wondering you use “ self rising flour “ is “ cake flour self rising flour “ or not. Cause in Vancouver we only can buy “ self rising cake flour “ from a grocery store. Thank you.
Hi Jemma, unfortunately, I don't have a fan-assisted oven. Can I bake them with up-and-bottom hitting? For how long should I bake them and what temperature? Thank you 🥰
I'm having a hard time finding self-rising flour where I live (Mexico City), so how can I fix it? Do you have a variation of just all-purpose flour and baking powder, if so for that amount of flour how much baking powder would you need? I love your recipes, and so do my friends when I prepare them! Greetings from Mexico!
Hey Ana! You can actually really easily make the SR flour, we have a video on how to do it just here ruclips.net/video/6rCrGw0_lGU/видео.htmlsi=NBQHJB23N7wp6bqM
Hey Jemma!! CANNOT wait to make these, I’m a sucker for Oreos! White chocolate spread…can you make your own? Or is there a brand I can look out for somewhere (I’m in Australia)?
So I cooked them at 374°F, which is 190°C with the fan assisted but after 18 minutes they’re really still almost spherical still. Do you have a recommendation?
I just looked up the Amoretti brand and it says it contains sugar, palm oil and milk (& dry milk)…seems the only difference in the white chocolate and the spread is the milk factor. What brand do you use and is it less sweet than just white chocolate?
If I've learned anything about baking is that the replacements that you're speaking of, will not make the cookie special like the ones you're making. But I dare say that the ingredients you're speaking of, are probably not available in my country. I don't like substitutes, I like the real thing and your cookies look really good.
Same! It was so worth it!
Ahh that makes me so so happy Karen! Thank you so much for coming to see us, and I'm glad you enjoyed everything! What treats did you pick up?

I always find it interesting to see how different people make cookies 😊❤

is it too sweet?
I was wondering why ganache wasn't the recommendation.
Fabulous Jemma wow many thanks stay bless with your family

You can buy the white chocolate spread from M&S.

The world needs more jemmas!!
You can make your own self rising flour. For every cup of plain flour, add 1.5 teaspoons baking powder and .25 tsp salt.
Omg this looks sooooooo good! Can’t wait to make it this weekend. Thanks Jemma❤❤❤
Cookies coated in cookies…just brilliant 🤤
The best! 🍪
I've been making white chocolate chunk cookies lately so this video looks incredible! Cocoa cookies are so good, totally underrated.

The cookies are really delicious and super tasty 🍪😋👌🏽👍🏽.

Have you since tried it?
Not yet, but I was making a batch of double chocolate NYC cookies yesterday and thinking that I needed to try the cookies & cream version.
Hey Jemma, thank you for always being cheerfully generous with all your recipes 🙏 May I ask what is in the white chocolate spread. I’m afraid just white chocolate might make it too sweet
Target, Amazon, and sometimes Wal-Mart sell the white chocolate spread in the U.S. M&S online baking supplier sells it too. Asda sells it in the UK.
Could you share the name of the spread please? I live in Mexico so I need to find it here 🫤

You could bake for 6-8 minutes - just check they're slightly wobbly in the centre and nice and crisp around the edges 🍪
@@CupcakeJemma Thanks Jemma! 🤩🤩🤩

Looks yummy 😋 Thank you for sharing this recipe 🥰
Idk why but her voice/accent is captivating 😂❤
You could use the extra egg white to brush them with so the cookie bits stick better.
I can't wait to try these, I have already frozen the chocolate chip ones lol thank you xx
Oh I hope you'll love these ones too! 🍪

Really hope C&D could be opened in Melbourne❤ I’ve been a big fan for 8 years, and can only drool to the phone screen 😂
It looks so so tasty, i dream of having one😊
Just bought 6 of her recipes. I thought that was smart, and I can make as many as I want without having to fly to NY.
Looks scrumptious. 🤤
That thumbnail!! ❤️👀🥰

I'm also from Australia and I cannot find it here. Could you find it or did you make yours?
Wow looks delish 🤤
Please share what kind of white chocolate chips and how many gram is a good substitute for the white chocolate spread.
That doesn't work. Asda sells the white chocolate spread in the UK. M&S sells it online.
@CricketsBay Jemma mentions in the video that you can use White chocolate instead if you can’t find the spread. And I’d like to know as well! 😊
Mmm cant wait to try these 😊
1 min. away!(6 hrs.!), I've been up for it, just about.
Hey Jemma, i made the cookies and it turned out so sooo sooooo goood ! But my filling isnt that goey , where did i went wrong on that yeaa ? 😫

Happy birthday 🎉
@@JessCrumbsDoilies Thank you!!!
Happy Birthday 🎉
I hope you had the best birthday! 🥳
How can we make our own “white chocolate spread”? Wouldn’t the regular white chocolate bits harden back up when cooled? Need the spread recipe 🙏 😊
Oh my goodness!!!😳
Yes please, I'll have a few!😃❤❤❤❤
