Since I earned my driver’s license in 1963, many of those scenes were normal to me. Thanks for the pleasant memories.

I'm 62 and i remember the gas station attendant pumping out gas and checking the oil, etc. Those were the days.

Many of these older gas stations only have a few gas pumps. Compare these to a modern gas station called Buc-ee's. There is a Buc-ee's here in nearby Daytona Beach, Florida, that has 104 gas pumps and the convenience store is over 50,000 square feet.

Buc-ee's is not a gas station, it is a tourist trap. I drove an hour to see what it was all about. It was huge and very crowded. I was not impressed. The food I sampled was average. And they do not want truckers.

I agree that Buc-ee's is a tourist trap, but it can save you a lot of money at times on gas. They can be extremely crowded, and sometimes it's hard to find a pump that is not being used, even though they have 104 pumps. If possible, I try to go at off peak times.
I also agree with you that I would not drive very far to visit a Buc-ee's.

In the mid-1970’s I answered an add for a job at a Standard Oil, Chevron Station. They hired me, however, I first had to attend and pass a Standard Oil Gas Attendant training school! To graduate you had to pass a test. The test was to greet the customer with “Fill it up today Sir/Mrs.” Whatever the case may be! Then you had to place the filler nozzle in the gas tank filler tube and start filling the tank. Next you had to wash all the windows and check all the tires pressure before the nozzle clicked off! Then you had to ask the customer “check under the hood for you today Sir/Mrs.”? Then show the customer the dip stick and the color of the oil. Then if the oil appeared a little dirty you would advise the customer to have the oil changed soon.!!! 🤔 I ended up working at three different Standard Oil Chevron Station service stations! It was a good job for the time, mid 1970’s.!!! I worked during the Oil Embargo in those 1970’s, That SUCKED!!!

These days you have to pump your own gas, except in New Jersey and Oregon, where by law they still have to pump the gas for you.
I got my driver's license in 1970, when gas in Maryland was 29 cents per gallon. I remember the first oil embargo that hit the USA in October of 1973 and ended around early March of 1974. During that time, the price of gas doubled in price. I remember very long gas lines and many gas stations ran out of gas by the early afternoon and closed for the day. Also during that time, if your tag number ended in a even number, you could only buy gas on even numbered days, and the same with odd numbered tags.

6:24, also your thumbnail, shows a 1961 EK Holden, with 1980's Queensland number plates. 🇦🇺 👍

I saw that as well...and again at the 6:15 mark. The dual exhaust is a later modification, the girl's clothes look post '60s so I'm guessing the shot is from the '70s.
The boyfriend either took the photo or thumped the guy who did (yeah, that sounds like the '70s...)

At 7:35 is a photo titled "Corvette and Chevrolet at Oldsmobile Dealership". Sorry to tell you, but the car behind the 'Vette is a 1957 Ford.

Why in the thumbnail is the young lady filling up a Holden with Australian plates is the premise of the video was to show what gas stations were like in America?

Also, several pictures had gas pumps payable in Kronors instead of dollars, and measured in liters instead of gallons. I think the kronor is or was used in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, NOT in America.

The video was mainly to be entertaining.

At least two of these must have been in Sweden: the pumps showed kroner per liter.

'Life at the gas station in America' with an Australian car featured?
Pumps reading liters and not gallons?

I need to find the gas stations @1:25 with the blond in the bikini 👙 and the Esso station @6:38 to have a beautiful woman pumping gas in my car. 😊😊
The attendant @6:27 wasn't very smart, as he was smoking a cigar while pumping gas. 😢😢
