As my dad was commissioned from the IMA through ACC, he basically has no to little idea about the PIB Interview which the T.A Conducts in their Command as for my self I am assigned to Eastern command Kolkata fort William.
As such no case had been reported about contractual employees eligibility in TA. But as per my interpretation, contractual employees are gain fully employees. Gainfully emploted does not mean only regular employees and no quantum of Remuneration/ salary. So u r eligible. Have a solid try. Gd luck

Being very less candidates recommended for SSB from PIB, so Army HQ generally does not give many slots/ options in TA commission SSB. Though u may make a request but I suggest you to avail first SSB dates to avoid any issue.

There is no ceiling on any amount/ annual income . So submit what u had as annual income. As there is no condition of at least one yr prior to applying to TA commission

Sir I'm a merchant navy officer, i earn 2.85 lakhs a month, how come my shipping company will give the difference salary amount, moreover I don't need that money, it'll be not a problem for me even If i don't get paid for TA services. What are the clauses and how this thing can be sorted?
Good to know. U may claim of difference of salary from civil employer ( M Navy salary 2.8 lakhs - 80000Rs as Lt in Army/ TA= 2 lakhs) from Merchant Navy as per TA Act 1948. But in such cases private employer got annoyed and not ready to reliev u for longer duration. Though matter may be taken up by Army TA HQ with ur employer on ur request. If u r happy with TA salary then no issue. U claim only TA salary and writ to ur civil employer that u will not claim any salary/ difference of salary from civil employer.

1. Yes. our one senior was from MoD .
2. Joining at 40 yrs age, one can go up to Major easily and even get Lt Col rank in last yr of service.

Yes . TA offrs use their rank like RA offrs. No difference at all. Last rank is Brigadier in TA.

Yes there is instruction issued by MoD but it is observed that MNCs generally refused.

Initial engagement is of 7 yr . Though one may take resignation at any point of time on compassionate grounds.
