I came here because I’m freaking out because the flakes come off when I’m washing it and when I’m moisturising it. This helped. I’m less worried but it doesn’t make it any less daunting when you see those flakes coming off
Another great video, Mike! When I got my first tattoo, I did everything *wrong* and I slowly learn how to take care/clean my new tattoo and I gonna share this with my cousin (yup he got his first)
The second I heard you say "wuter" instead of "water" I knew exactly where you were from lol, great video btw, just got my first tattoo and it's currently peeling and I wasn't sure if I should continue washing it.
Glad I watched this Had a bad day today on a 4 day old tattoo with too many skin flakes coming off when I washed it. I almost thought I’d caused irreparable damage 😮
I don't how you still making excellent videos without losing the creativity. Just one thing to say THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT WORK YOU MAKE, KEEO ROCKING! I'm going to get my first tatto in February 8, a Kea in scientific draw, 16 cm in forearm.
Honestly my tattoo experience so so close to a sunburn, it’s stings at first then you be gentle and it starts peeling then the good skin comes back after that process
Your videos are amazing. My biggest regret is I didn’t watch them BEFORE i got my tattoo, I’m watching them after I’ve made some mistakes already (very first tattoo wash done directly under running tap water, later having two showers thinking I’ll be fine by avoiding direct running water contact, but they were hot showers risking my pores opening up)
it took my first tattoo (linework with some crosshatch shading) 3 weeks to finally start peeling! hearing people say theirs started peeling after a few days and that some tattoos dont peel at all made me think mine wasnt going to peel and was scarred up pretty badly!
You still gotta clean the tattoo. When you do it gently you won’t forcefully rip of the tattoo. I heal my tattoos with saniderm now. Check out the video! ruclips.net/video/30eKm0pbrZY/видео.html
I’ve watched a lot of your vids about washing a new tattoo. And your vids helped me a lot with learning how to wash my tattoos when I started my tattoo sleeve journey. But recently I wanted to try something different. As soon as I noticed my new tattoo starting to peel (which for me is day 3 after a new tattoo) I stopped using the aquaphor and instead of lotion I started using coconut oil. So still washing 3 times a day but then letting it dry and applying coconut oil. This has worked so good for me. The itch is basically gone and the tattoo stays moisturized a lot longer. Also I noticed that I don’t peel for as long. When using the lotion I usually peel for a week and a half. With the coconut oil it has made the peeling process so smooth. I think I pulled from Thursday to Tuesday. Still some peeling and scabbing but the heavy annoying peeling is gone. Give me your thoughts about coconut oil as an after care product pls ?
@@EvolveINK I use aquaphor as well for the first few days and works perfectly. I was saying instead of using the Lotion. On this tattoo I’ve started using coconut oil instead of the lotion.
Hi I know I’m very late, but I would really appreciate if you could help me out. I got my first tattoo four days ago (dark knight symbol on my forearm) and it just started peeling. It seems like the more it peels, the lighter the ink gets. Is this normal or is it more likely that I made a mistake when washing it ? Does the darker color come back with a new layer of skin? i never itched or picked the skin the only time skin flakes have come out is when i washed the tattoo. I know it’s been a long time since you posted this video, but a response would be greatly appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving!
The absolute brightest a tattoo will be is just after you get it. That’s because there’s some ink in the upper layer of skin, which is part of what sheds off when a tattoo peels. After that, it’ll look a bit more faded and then get a little more clear when it’s fully healed. But again, it’ll never look like the day you got it. That said, how well ink holds depends on how your body reacts to it and how well the tattoo was done. So if you feel like there’s excessive fading, contact the artist and ask their opinion. Usually if it’s faded or ink has fallen out, many shops offer a free touch up within a certain time period after the appointment. But as of this comment, you’ve only had the tattoo for a week. Give it another week or two before you judge if it’s faded. There’s a minimum amount of time that has to elapse before you can get touched up, usually 2-3 weeks (allows healing) so don’t worry about it yet. Just clean and moisturize according to your artists instructions.
@@jason_x_90 Got it. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to reply to my comment. As you could guess I’m really new to this process so I can’t express how grateful I am for your response. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

I got a new tattoo and was wondering, how gently is gently? Like barley touch the skin gently, or dont sandpaper it gently? I had a bunch of friends say unless I dug into it, it would be fine, but in on day 6, and a lot came off. If i see a slightly peeled part, is it bad if well im washing it the rest peels off? Hm, is it a black and gray tattoo? Sometimes with the different quality of ink that tattoo artist used, the ink can go from black to like a dark blueish color.
Some artist will tell you different stuff. My inner forarm tattoo my artist told me to wait a week before applying lotion. I've always heard to moisturize it after 2 or 3 days. But i followed his instructions and waited a week and it healed up so good.
So ive been taking care of my tattoo properly I think and it beginning to flake and shed barely. However I’m scared because my color tattoo (blood red) it looks like it becoming lighter like a light red is that normal? 😭😭

I got a lion tattoo covering most of the bottom part of my forearm up to my crease bend. Around his right eye is the only part thats peeling. I washed it like 3-4 times this morning trying to get all those dead flakes off, and I didnt get all of. Some of those flakes are still there. Do I need to get them off? I’ve had it for 5 days
I was washing my tattoo in the shower Only holding the water in my hand and dipping some on there, and everytime white dirt/suds pop up and when i gently rub it as shown in the video, it would come off like dirt rolls all over and some parts that were already faded out as part of my design, dropped a in shading, i rolled half of it off thinking it was dirt was that wrong this is a week n a half in btw
You wanna wash it about 2-3 times a day for about 7-10 days. That’s if you’re healing it the traditional way of course. I recommend using this way of healing for next time. It takes the annoying part out of tattoo healing ruclips.net/video/FNpJ1N0zmKw/видео.htmlsi=6R_4VdRuSoRVH5Kz
Thanks Mike. I've been wondering if splashing some cold water immediately after the wash would be a good idea. I think my only question would be if I have to constantly wear sleeveless shirts until my sleeve fully heals after another 3 weeks, But I'm going to watch your other episodes to make sure it hasnt already been answered. What I noticed was that the bicep part has been flaking a lot, but the inner part of the arm and elbow hasn't been. I'm just gonna chalk that up to exposure.
Hey! So typically you do not wanna mess with your healing skin, like AT ALL. Try not to have anything touch it or rub up against it or to stretch it. I recommend checking out this video here Rai. It will make sure you don’t ruin your new tattoo ruclips.net/video/_tl6ar_E6uE/видео.html
Got my first tattoo on sat and the two things I've done wrong is letting the water hit it directly and drying with a towel (that I washed and have only been using to dry my tattoo if that helps even a little 😂) . Probably already fucked it but only found this out like right now 😂 Surely, I can just go get it touched up though
I actually am in the process of making a series on how I heal my tattoos. I have a fresh tattoo now so it shows everything I’m Doing! Check out this video here ruclips.net/video/51uwwkxRQZE/видео.html
Can doesn't mean should. I highly recommend getting non visible tattoos until you figure out a career path. And I know I'll sound old but think about how much your tastes have changed in the past seven years. They probably will in the next as well. My brother got a grim reaper and some flames at 18. Now at 34 he doesn't want them anymore and is doing a cover up. Not saying don't get tats young but think about how you would feel as a parent with the tat or how it would be received in your dream job. Stuff like that. And don't rush. Of you think you want a tat try waiting at least a year before acting on it.
Typically you want to wash it 3 times a day. Once when you wake up, once mid day, and the last time Right before bed. Washing it twice a day you’re risking more of a chance for bacteria to build up.

I washed it like 3-4 times this morning trying to get all those dead flakes off, and I didnt get all of. Some of those flakes are still there. Do I need to get them off? I’ve had it for 5 days
How long after getting a tattoo can I go back to using a washcloth?
Great question! You want to wait till the tattoo is completely healed! Like I addressed in this video those can be harmful to a healing tattoo lol
What about washing with a paper towel instead of hands?
That may be too abrasive. Clean hands might be best.
Good video👍🏻
I was washing my tattoo in the shower Only holding the water in my hand and dipping some on there, and everytime white dirt/suds pop up and when i gently rub it as shown in the video, it would come off like dirt rolls all over and some parts that were already faded out as part of my design, dropped a in shading, i rolled half of it off thinking it was dirt was that wrong
this is a week n a half in btw
Ahh I wish you post this 2 weeks ago 😅
😅 better late then never right? Lol can always use it for future tattoos lol
Allow the water to flow over the tattoo… kinda like when you’re in the shower lol
It’s more of a controlled flow 😂
How long do I have to keep washing it.. this is annoying 😭😩
@@EvolveINK thanks so much!
Yea I'm on day 9, I came here because I got a lot of the peeling coming off in the shower today 😭 lol
My little brother hit me a little bit on my tattoo i am worried
Have you ever tried "dry healing"..? It ruined my portrait tattoo!
what happens if u use scented soap
It could irritate your skin. Unscented is always the way to go.
This is so difficult with a back and shoulder tattoo
Lol I could only imagine! That would
Suck!
Thank God, was panicing on what to do when skin flakes started to appear. LOL
Bruh you fucked me up putting whatever that was on an old tattoo and peeling it off. Literal screaming at the monitor lol
😂😂😂😂 had to make it look real
its scary to wash peeling tattoo
Just be gentle and you’ll be fine
When you’ve picked those pesky peels off and watch this video👀
😂😂😂 they were fake!!
CLUTCH 😭
🐺💉
Another great video bud
Thank you bud 🤝
Key 🔐 🔑 info 🤘
This dudes cold water tip is epic
Got my first tattoo on sat and the two things I've done wrong is letting the water hit it directly and drying with a towel (that I washed and have only been using to dry my tattoo if that helps even a little 😂) .
Probably already fucked it but only found this out like right now 😂
Surely, I can just go get it touched up though
Damn how am I gonna do this on a new back piece .. myself . Gonna get in 2 months ..
When the skin starts to peel how many times do you wash it in a day and how many times do you moisturize it in a day?
3 times a day
twice a day
When should I stop washing my tattoo? I’m on day 5 it’s super itchy dry and peeling
I actually am in the process of making a series on how I heal my tattoos. I have a fresh tattoo now so it shows everything I’m
Doing! Check out this video here ruclips.net/video/51uwwkxRQZE/видео.html
U are so handsome,thanks for tips💗
Can I tatoo my hand at the age of 17 dude.
With your parents written permission
Can doesn't mean should. I highly recommend getting non visible tattoos until you figure out a career path. And I know I'll sound old but think about how much your tastes have changed in the past seven years. They probably will in the next as well. My brother got a grim reaper and some flames at 18. Now at 34 he doesn't want them anymore and is doing a cover up. Not saying don't get tats young but think about how you would feel as a parent with the tat or how it would be received in your dream job. Stuff like that. And don't rush. Of you think you want a tat try waiting at least a year before acting on it.
I’ve been washing it twice a day is that fine?
Typically you want to wash it 3 times a day. Once when you wake up, once mid day, and the last time
Right before bed. Washing it twice a day you’re risking more of a chance for bacteria to build up.
"wooder" 💧
How come you never talk about neck tattoos?
It’s funny you say that because I have a ton of neck tattoo related videos planned!
Who even gets those
@@nicksparta9580 bruh that was 3 yrs ago 😂 lol
