I have to say their is one more random occurrence that can happen during browser bonus. I haven't seen the whole video so this might have been addressed. When Bowser hands you the ztar in bowser bonus. Their is a chance that the ztar will rip apart to reveal it was actually a real star. Earning you a star rather than taking a star. Browser laments at this and asks where the ztar went. When this happens. There is also a small chance of any star in play till it's revealed could actually be the ztar and you end up paying 20 coins to LOSE YOUR STAR. Turning the entire star gathering principle on its entire head where saying no could mean the difference between a major setback or not and one of the few methods that make a negative star count possible in the game since a hidden ztar can be purchased by anyone.
@@SuperMario.1 I don't think stars can become ztars in the party mode. Source: Mario party 5 was my childhood mario party and it's still my go to mario party. Stars can become ztars in the card party mode though.
@@MG-mq3zf I do remember a Ztar becoming a Star in Card Party mode. But that bring a very, very rare thing to happen. Even more than a Star becoming a Ztar.
Fantastic video! Mario Party 5 was my favorite growing up, even as someone that was horrible at button mashing! Also, I’m fairly certain the idea behind DK Mini-Games is that DK is paying the players for all the bananas they collected for him.
Seriously such an underrated and amazing series of videos! Everytime an Identifying Luck video appears in my recommended or sub feed, I instantly want to watch the whole video to learn about these awesome tips and tricks for the Mario Party games I grew up with. So much effort is shown on these videos and I really hope more and more people see that. Keep it up ZoomZike :D
After watching this video, I was inspired to go back to Mario Party 5 for the first time in 10 years, and the very first game I played after the long hiatus resulted in me having 0 stars for three quarters of the game, and somehow managing to accumulate over 200 coins up until the second to last turn, where Bowser's last 5 turn gimmick resulted in Chance popping out in a drunken stupor, reeming out the leader; an Intense Mario CPU, to cheese a win for me. It's at this point where I realised that Mario Party is likely even more wack if you have friends.
This Mario Party was always my favorite because of it's dream theme and the fact that the Star Spirits host the modes. I know it's hated because of the Capsules being random traps that can help or hurt anyone and the Orbs are superior but I adore Mario Party 5 as it is a special childhood game to me and seeing a detailed analysis of it is a dream come true!
To me, I'm more of the opposite. Mario Parties 6 and 7 may often have orbs with coins inside of them, while Mario Party 5 has nothing! Well, except for the coin block capsule. I was thinking that Mario Party 5 and Mario Parties 6 and 7 (even separate) can be pretty unbalanced with the coin values. Because I was fond of the coin fee (capsule used on yourself) and capsules being tossed onto a space, the orbs in Mario Parties 6 and 7 made me pretty uncomfortable, even though I imagined Mario Party Koopaling Journey with the returned orbs.
As an April fools joke you should do a chapter on the 3ds games, it's fun to see how they demolish most if not all of the strategy these games are well know for.
Something cool about this game I just noticed: This is the first Mario Party game to have Toad as a playable character, so you could have a game where the four players are Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad, the same four playable characters as in Super Mario Bros. 2, and both of these games are dream-themed.
"He's finally here, performing for you, It's the-" That activated my fight-or-flight response. I'm not even joking, I thought he was just going to start singing for a second
Idk why but I always come back to this series whenever I go to sleep. I feel like ive listen to this series for 50+ hours now without me knowing since I'm asleep and I've been doing this for months lmao. But man just watching the videos with visuals feels much better and it made me realize how much effort really went to this series so kudos to that!!!
Man I hadn't heard of this channel before but a random RUclips recommend and now I'm binging the whole series... love these videos, you've earned a new sub!
This is partially why I kind of like Mario Party 5. The capsule system is just so interesting. It really makes me want to buy the game instead of just emulating it with my bro occasionally.
ZoomZike has blessed us with another bombshell of a video. These videos are incredibly detailed and very useful! I'll even fall asleep to these videos sometimes so they're useful in more ways than one!
hey i just want to say i appreciate this series so much, i’m getting my friend group back into mario party right now (even have my girlfriend playing with me) and these videos have been a treat. you’re basically making 2 full length movies on each game and i just wanted you to know they’re very much appreciated! keep up the good work and can’t wait for the next identify luck video.
I just discovered these and have watched almost all of them over the course of the day. Mario Party 6 is my favorite one out of the whole series, can't wait for it!
FANTASTIC JOB with this, man. That's some amazing dedication right there. One thing I also don't like about 5 is how obvious it was that they didn't have enough 1v3 ideas so they crammed what should've been 2v2 minigames into a 1v3 format. For example, it's laughable how obvious it is that Curvy Curbs should've been 2v2.
Dang this was a good one. Not much to add here as you represented the balancing issues with both the Minigames and the boards really well. this is probably my favorite Identifying Luck since MP 1
I was so hyped for this and basically shrieked when I saw it on my feed. Never thought I’d be watching like 3 hour long videos about freaking Mario Party and actually get hyped for them. Boy do I love how you do these videos. Can’t wait for my favorite Mario Party of all time, MP6 next!
I love the Identifying Luck videos so much! They are just perfect for me to fall asleep too! (That's supposed to be a compliment) The tone and pacing is really nice and consistent, and the content is that perfect level of interesting where my brain doesn't think about other stuff because it isn't engaging enough and doesn't extrapolate tons because it is too engaging. These are just the perfect videos and I'm super grateful for them.
The sentimental feeling you tell us about at the end, that's what I feel for 6, so I'm super excited for the next one! 5 is also extremely special in my heart too, those two are the main ones I grew up on. my very first one was 2 tho :)
Fantastic video as always! Mario Party 5 was the first video game I ever got to play, let alone my first Mario Party. Despite it's flaws, this game means a lot to me. It's aesthetic is the best in the series (imo), I love the Star Spirits despite not playing Paper Mario yet. This game is also a big contributer as to why I associate myself with the Boos on the internet. Not to mention all the countless memories I have playing this game with my family, which I still do to this day. Thanks to anyone who read my silly comment all they way to the end :)

This game wasnt my first Mario Party, but it is still my most beloved one. I cant understand how i can still remember almost all maps and Minigames years after i played it as a kid and have been on a decline on playin Mario Party games after they introduced the cart.
On Sunday will be the 1 year anniversary of this video, and a year of waiting for my favorite Mario Party to be thoroughly analyzed. The longer I have to wait the more excited I am. I can't wait to see if you've discovered the same quirks that I have, to see things I've yet to know, or to maybe even see you state something counteractive to a fact that I know, causing me to retest things. Please oh Please hurry Mr. ZZ
It's funny - I've only played Mario Party Advance. But every time I see a new Identifying Luck video, I sit through a feature-film length investigation of a game I've never played, and, probably, will never play. Thank you for making these, and thank you for sharing your passion and energy with us. Here's hoping for a better 2021.
I watched this at least twice start to end and I didn’t realize all the maps ended in dream until looking at all the time stamps 😂 Except for Bowser’s nightmare. How funny would it be if that was dream too? “Oh yeah I’ma play Bowser’s Dream!”
This was my first Mario Party too! In fact, it was my first video game. This game introduced me to one of my favorite franchises that I now hold very dearly and still play regularly
Me and 3 others have been playing this game many times in the past month or two. Huge nostalgia, and I’m glad we’ve found a way to replay it again... and then this shows up. Hahahaha!
It was always weird that the "Toady" capsule in this game was called the "Magikoopa" capsule despite it not looking like a Magikoopa at all (especially with the Kamek capsule as Kamek himself is an actual named character in the series not something that can be multiple characters of). Glad 6 fixes this issue.
I have played these games during my childhood and teenage years so much that I feel like just listening to the videos explaining luck is the same experience. You have a really nice voice to listen to.
It took me a day and a half, but I finally finished this all the way through. Excellent & hilarious work as always, ZoomZike! See you in the livestream! ✌
I've been thinking about doing an identifying luck video for Mario Party DS, though it would be scary trying to get footage for all of it. That said, I think that doing it in the style of the videos you've been doing for these other games would be a huge fun project to do!
@@Commander-peepers it takes a lot. I'm only a beginner at RUclips, so my editing skills aren't exactly the best. I might have to use an emulator just so I can get footage, and it would be a nightmare writing a long script for the whole thing, let alone breaking everything down. It would be cool to collaborate with someone to make something like this.

1:21:57 Interesting to note that near the top of the upper two stations, there are teleporters with blue bases, but the one on the left is broken, causing the one on the right to be offline. This seems suggestive that at one point in Future Dream (in terms of lore, not necessarily development), it used to be possible to travel between the upper two stations more easily. 1:53:56 In the top-right puzzle, input 2 is completely unnecessary. Also, the bottom-right puzzle is missing an input; if the inputs given are followed exactly, then the Goomba of input 7 will be inaccessible. Instead, after input 6, the Goomba from input 5 needs to be pushed to the right in order to open up access to the final input.
These have been SUPER helpful, so thanks a bunch for making them. I’ve been trying to make my Mario Party board game as a side project, and these are perfect for referencing board layouts, item pools, or specific game dev stuff.

I think you may have mixed up the main game and card party mode
@@hyperfairy7779 Bowser doesn't appear in card party.
Edit: turns out he does.
Yeah, you are thinking of Card Party. Not Party Mode.
Star Rush at least contains some strategy in it's Toad Scramble mode, at least compared to the other 3DS games.
As an April fools joke, he should do mario parties 9 and 10. They demolish even more strategy.
Something cool about this game I just noticed: This is the first Mario Party game to have Toad as a playable character, so you could have a game where the four players are Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad, the same four playable characters as in Super Mario Bros. 2, and both of these games are dream-themed.
"He's finally here, performing for you, It's the-"
That activated my fight-or-flight response. I'm not even joking, I thought he was just going to start singing for a second
"Maybe you're playing with honest folks. Or maybe you're playing with people who have watched this video"
I feel so... dirty
Something to keep me entertained while I workout, clean around the house, AND crochet!? Bruh, thats a lot of hard work.
I can only imagine the headache he’ll have trying to do Mario Party 6, with all the different board mechanics and all. And I can’t wait.
SAME
Yesssssss, you finally said Mario party in the intro again.
This title deserves it :)
I love how ZZ makes mario party seem like crusader kings in terms of strategy 🤣
Man I hadn't heard of this channel before but a random RUclips recommend and now I'm binging the whole series... love these videos, you've earned a new sub!
Man, thanks for these videos! It's crazy how much I learn every time I watch one
It feels very fast for 5 to be out! Absolutely amazing quality and wonderful editing as always
Thank you!
hey i just want to say i appreciate this series so much, i’m getting my friend group back into mario party right now (even have my girlfriend playing with me) and these videos have been a treat. you’re basically making 2 full length movies on each game and i just wanted you to know they’re very much appreciated! keep up the good work and can’t wait for the next identify luck video.
I just discovered these and have watched almost all of them over the course of the day. Mario Party 6 is my favorite one out of the whole series, can't wait for it!
2:38:36 "On the disaster side of things, Dont choose Fate's Decision"
proceeds to choose Fates Decision anyways
FANTASTIC JOB with this, man. That's some amazing dedication right there.
One thing I also don't like about 5 is how obvious it was that they didn't have enough 1v3 ideas so they crammed what should've been 2v2 minigames into a 1v3 format. For example, it's laughable how obvious it is that Curvy Curbs should've been 2v2.
New year is starting off well seeing this in my feed!
Dang this was a good one. Not much to add here as you represented the balancing issues with both the Minigames and the boards really well. this is probably my favorite Identifying Luck since MP 1
Been binging the series lately, really happy to see a brand new episode!!
Didn’t know you watched zoomzike
5 and 2 have always been my favorite mario party games, nice to see an identifying luck video for my favorite.
The Identifying Luck series is one of my favourite on youtube. Thanks for the hours of informative entertainment!
This is cool and all, but when are we going to get ''Identifying Luck: Card Party''?
I'll stream it this month!
wait wHAT
YOOOOOOO
as dumb as it can be, Card Party is literally my favorite MP5 mode, this is great to hear
How about Super Duel? I found that to be one of my favorite modes in Mario Party 5
"The more positive names actually do better"
**So-So, I Suppose favored to beat Almost Guaranteed Victory**
**Totally Terrible favored to beat Feeling Good**
but that makes sense, pepole usualy say the two later of those things sarcasticaly, as in when they mean the oposite and are bad.
Finally getting around to these after expressing great interest in yer intro video from what feels like an eternity ago now. Caught up to 5 which is my favorite so I’m loving the deep dive here. You are an actual hero for making these
Third time rewatching this series right now, excited for Identifying Luck in Mario Party 6!
i’ve binged watched this entire series 5 times while waiting for the next one i try to watch them all between installments
omg mario party 5 was your first one too?? not gonna lie, i've been looking forward to this video since you uploaded the first introductory video to the identifying luck series. absolutely phenomenal work!
also, card party really is the best mode in the game. the music slaps so hard as well.
The ending brought a tear to my eye. When we were kids everything seems so magical and so perfect. How I wish I could go back to being a kid where everything seems like that, at least for one day.
Oh how I have been waiting for this! This is kinda my first Mario party too! :D
Protip: Watch the leaves, rotation and speed of the dancing Piranha Plants ;D
I also always tried to figure out if the wind told me a thing by Pull a rope.
Can't wait for 6, but this one has a special place in my... dreams...
Thank you for making this and all other video's and best wishes! :)
As someone who has been a part of the DDR community for about 15 years, seeing piguy's name being mentioned for something that isn't Stealth AAA's is so cool. Let's go piguy!
I watched this at least twice start to end and I didn’t realize all the maps ended in dream until looking at all the time stamps 😂
Except for Bowser’s nightmare.
Hahahaha!
Mario party 4 and 5 just inject nostalgia right into my veins, thank you so much!
This is my favorite mario party. I personally felt the amount of content in it when I was a kid was insane. This and 3 are the GOATs imo.
These are gripping to watch. Can't wait for Mario Party 6! That was my favorite by a longshot and I would love to see how much there is to discover
I have played these games during my childhood and teenage years so much that I feel like just listening to the videos explaining luck is the same experience. You have a really nice voice to listen to.
Was just saying i wonder when 5 would come out. Glad i got something to listen to while i work, thanks man
It took me a day and a half, but I finally finished this all the way through.
Kinda sad you didn’t make the video
@@Commander-peepers it takes a lot. I'm only a beginner at RUclips, so my editing skills aren't exactly the best. I might have to use an emulator just so I can get footage, and it would be a nightmare writing a long script for the whole thing, let alone breaking everything down. It would be cool to collaborate with someone to make something like this.
@@IAmTheEg7 wish you luck in those times.
47:47 Man, Chance Time has always been crazy, but only in Mario Party 5 is it where being Right is the wrong idea!
58:10 Pffft, that reference.
Finally finished watching this! What an examplary video! Love that you upload this! Happy Holidays, a late Merry Christmas, & Happy New Year, everyone!
I can't wait for the next video!
"bowser takes everyone coins and distributes them equaly"
bowser is a comunist confirmed
He’s been a communist since the first game.
Real Communism would have Bowser steal all of everyone's coins and stars then remove 1st from the game permanently.
But that's not as funny.
I was just rewatching all of you're previous Identifying Luck videos over the last few days! Happy to see this in my feed today!
The "MARIO PARTY !!" in the openning is finally back !
I’ve been so excited for this video, actively refreshing the channel page. I love these videos! There’s so much work poured into them and I’ve been using them to help me fall asleep. Love you Zoom
The fact that we'll eventually run out of MP games makes me sad.
Yeah he only has two more to go since he's only doing 1-7
This was my favorite gamecube Mario Party, and probably my most-played overall growing up! glad to see it getting the in-depth analysis it deserves.
"Astro-logical, one of my favourites!"
Ah, a man of culture :)
As a long time mario party fan, the fact that you kept this series rolling gives me so much joy and i loved each and every part ^_^
This is the game where I hate the gameplay (orbs are too weird) but love most of the mini games.
great vid! 6 is my personal favorite MP, so I can't wait to see you crack it open in the next one, keep up the good work!
"The most useless button in a Mario Party mini-game"
The B, X, and Y buttons in that very same mini-game and many others: "Am I a joke to you?"
Blows my mind how much bloody work must go into these. Brilliant job once again!
