I remember my dad saying that when you hear that it's never good enough, you stop trying and now I get it. My mother is never satisfied, never gives any words of encouragement, and will never hesitate to point out what is missing or lacking. I am 51 and speak to her as little as possible because she attacks me over something every time. Then she complains to people in our family about me but she can't ever do wrong because she has money. Everything in this video sounds like the healthy thing to do but for some people it's impossible because not only do we have our own inner critic to contend with but some of us have our only "support system" tearing us down for not healing fast enough or for not "succeeding" in life enough. It's never enough.
Thank you for sharing as you have, if I were to share some level of support or insight in to a different area, what might that look like? If I can help I’d be delighted to.
70yo Aus female here .. your vid randomly caught my eye.. the 'Rock Bottom' hit home and I clicked. YOU* spoke to ME* My first small win happened at 5:45 "make your bed' time, which I did straightaway(ish)... changed the bedding after a couple of months (the cat was pissed 🐈⬛ LOL ), ran the stick vac around the shack briefly, had a tub, made a cuppa and came back to bed to watch the rest Thank you Jamie, a very fortuitous day x a life saver.
Jamie I left a comment about your vlogs but it’s gone along with other comments 🤔anyway just wanted to say I love your vlogs, they are short with very valuable on point advice,I specially like the length of your vlogs they are accessible as most people including me just wouldn’t have time to watch 1 hr vlogs where the point gets lost somewhere in the rambling x
Is being crashed to pieces really a natural part of a human life, or is it because society pushes unattainable demands on us? Could a historian give their perspective on that?

Oh I can only imagine we as a species have been pushed and challenged from the beginnings of time x
