  • After my last marathon I wanted to go back and look at some of the common mistakes that I make when it comes to carb loading. In this video I bring up 5 of those mistakes hopefully to avoid them in the future and offer up some tips on things to avoid when carb loading for a marathon, half marathon or any endurance event.

    Hey Matt! You don't have to be a coach to share common sense that will help other runners! Great advice here - and I am a certified run coach! - LOL! Well done!

      Hey, Thanks so much. Mostly it's a "here is where I have gone wrong in the past and here is what I am going to try next" sort of take on things. I do try to soak up as much knowledge as I can around running and hopefully some day I reach the point of maybe becoming a coach but I'm a long ways off from feeling that I'm there yet.

    Carb loading = increasing inflammation (especially if you use grains)
    You’re better off cutting caffeine for a few days and getting solid sleep.
