  • Summer Day's Dream by J B Priestley
Adaptation of JB Priestley’s play set in a post-apocalyptic future. A world government is in place and an old man’s peaceful existence in the country is threatened.
Following a devastating nuclear war which has seen Britain bombed back into the pre-industrial past, Stephen Dawlish and his family live a quiet rural life. Until their quiet, agrarian existence is disrupted by the appearance of three representatives of the New World Order - an American, a Russian and an Indian - who have devastating plans that will end their new peaceful way of life forever.

A strange and magical tale. The best of Priestley in my opinion.

This must be the exact soundtrack of the tv stage play with the same actors. I loved it then as well. I wish l knew why JB Priestley always grabs the mind, emotions and most of all the sensibilities. Thank you for posting this.

I have a video copy of this (and absolutely adore it!!) but it's a bit "old-recording". Do you have a nice one?

Unconvincing morality fable but with John Geilgud as Dawlish.
