That's exactly what happened, yes. Literally never had anything close to that happen to me before lmao. And Rathalos probably started to aim at me the moment I dismounted.
I seriously feel the pain and frustration of that clip with Vycery and Velkhana. I can’t stand it how large monsters aggro onto small monsters. They roar before you can reach them denying you the opportunity to counter the roar or worse stunning you with it, sometimes they run away and target small monsters and waste your time. The small monster AI and the fact that large monsters aggro onto small monsters irritates me

Velkhana especially does this, its part of his fight to just go and flex his ice abilities mid battle and freeze some remobra or some other group of small monsters (probably marking territory or some shit). Pretty cool most of the time, unless your speedrunning

@@spaghetti7929 Lol I know right, I love seeing it but I think it’s a little too intrusive on the combat. In Iceborne Velkhana would do this but she wouldn’t go out of her way to do it, it was something that would just kinda happen once in a while in the background from my experience. The problem is every monster does this, they’re perfectly chill until you enter their zone then suddenly they’re pissed and have to go fuck up some baggi lol. It’s happened so many times where I chase down the monster, I enter the combat zone and round a corner and immediately get stunned by their roar. I play longsword and switch axe, so in both scenarios I want to counter the roar. With longsword it’s not a huge deal I guess because you can fill your gauge easily but with switch axe getting your amped state is important. I’m not looking to get any records but I do speedrun and it’s just one detail that can be frustrating
When I first saw valkana in rise she did this to the remobra while still standing on the ground and all I could think was RIP any IG trying to vault that aerial hitbox.

That clip of Vycery with zhe velkhana has happened to me like 30 times when trying to engage Velkhana resulting in me having to repeat the quest. however elixir mh spedrun thos quest from this position without triggering this is beyond me

This is why Shogun is also best ride to deal damage with. Everyone is afraid of him.
