I think Skillet was better when their music was more ambiguous in terms of their religious themes. Their last album was rather heavy handed in that respect.
pantherace1000 I don’t think it matters, they’ve never been “ambiguous” bands like the fray and switch foot are ambiguous, I don’t think skillets ever been
@@pantherace1000 I respectfully disagree in that their last album was heavy-handed in religious themes, even compared to other albums. And, if you do think they're heavy-handed in their last album, listen to their early stuff from the mid to late 90s and early 2000s

For as much love as skillet gets they get about as much disdain. Opinions are opinions ya know
I'll be honest, this particular cover has too many production issues for me to overlook. Yes their voices working together are always great, and when they sing lead it's emphasized. But the drums sound terrible and you can't make out what's going on in the lower harmonies because of the ambience effects. It's jarring, yet it's a consistent issue these two have had for a while. It makes this cover meh in my eyes, which is sad since they've blown me away so hard in the past. For some reason Skillet covers is where they fall flat.
Because no matter how much I love them, Caleb's voice is not made for Skillet. His voice doesn't quite have that low roughness
