Your use of drone footage to help tell the story and provide prospective on the beauty of moving through the landscape is just phenomenal. You're a very talented film maker! My friend, Dimuthu, who I work with there in Columbo sent me the video as he would like for me to come visit some day and ride in Sri Lanka. I'd love to follow your same route, not sure I'd want to tangle with the elephants though! Congratulations on your work! It is truly amazing!
Same here 54, I doubt I could do 170km a day.. max 60km a day. I want to ride from Galle to Jaffna, 1 way, may be in 2-3 weeks, but logistics and planning is the issues. have fun, should you visit Sri Lanka.
Hi Anton, with a little bit of practice it isn't so hard in my opinion. I myself am not a cyclist, I trained for this for around a month only by cycling around 25-30 KM for 2-3 days a week, and did a couple of long-distance rides (80 KM) and I would advise you to ride a road bike to make it fun and easier. Also, check the weather beforehand and avoid headwind, and start early in the morning. I'm sure you will make it.
Riding around Sri Lanka is at the top of my bucket list, and I am currently looking for the right time to do it. I have already completed many high-altitude rides in Tibet, Nepal, and India, and now it's time to explore Sri Lanka. If anyone shares the same interest, let's plan it out together.

Thanks guys for releasing such vedio.This is the beauty of Srilanka , We used to ride the bicycle to Anuradhapura from Gampaha on Poson season in our child hood with our friends though we had lumala sport bicycles and Hero bicycles . This video has accelerated my thoughts to have a such experience in my next vacation . Buththala road sciences are stunning . I would like to remember a friend call Patcha who had great skills of repair the tire punches as also repair kit even in 2005 (Patcha is passed away while he was working in ARMY at Jaffna :( . )

I was looking up videos about cycling in Sri Lanka and I found this one. This is amazing and like others said below, beautiful footage and images. I am a road cyclist and I did log distance tours in the past, but logistics was handled by a group that did the hotels and carried our stuff to the pre-scheduled stop points. For you, you did all of that yourself which is amazing. If you are there next year, I would like to do one long ride in Sri Lanka.
