- This week on the show I'm joined by Carlton Blues star midfielder, Sam Walsh. I cannot speak highly enough of this guy - he is one of the most impressive young blokes I've come across, with some really strong values and goals. We spoke about his recent back injury and the struggles that come with that, having empathy for teammates and how to best stay grounded and consistent with all the outside noise in the AFL. We covered Carlton's shift in mindset, the ripple effect of leadership around the club & where the Blues are heading in 2024.

Walsh has been a gem since he entered the gates at Princes Park as a youngster.
Surprised and also not surprised at Walshie's finals series in 2023 - sensational.
The last time I saw a youngster have an impact like this from their first season was Dyl's old man and Harmes in the late 1970s.
Before that, it was Southby winning the best and fairest in his first two seasons - and you need to go back to 1971 and 1972 which included a premiership. Absolutely ridiculous.
That's how consistent and good Walsh is in my opinion. Shows strong natural leadership skills too.
And remember, he had major back issues before the 2023 season.
I would genuinely die for this man
Brilliant. Have a great year Walshy!
Thank you bucks what a great interview of a superb individual
He's a deadset star. 2024 will the year for us. Walshy brownlow, Charlie 3rd coleman and Carlton for the flag
Lets fukn go Blues💙💙💙
Charlie needs to get a kick in a final 😂
The 80-20 rule, also known as the Pareto Principle, is a familiar saying that asserts that 80% of outcomes (or outputs) result from 20% of all causes (or inputs) for any given event. In business, a goal of the 80-20 rule is to identify inputs that are potentially the most productive and make them the priority.
Well said 👏👏👏

Just Dylan things…🎙️😤
Worpa what a fkn weapon #Brownlow24
what a pod
Star
what happened to list cloggers?
I’m putting $100 on him to win the Brownlow right now
If this interview was about anything other than sport there would be a shitload of comments saying he's an industry plant. He tried to be fun and cool while providing the most grey answers ever. Funniest part is Carlton supporters are screaming Brownlow absolutely frothing his mundane answers 😅
A good kid and I'd be happy to see him succeed but I'm chasing abit of character 😅
Who hurt you? Seems like you have a vendetta against the Carlton football club. Do I smell a Collingwood supporter? Brush your teeth buddy
How sad your life must be
Hahahaha how many beers did you smash before this post? Sad guy smashing beers watching podcasts with tears running down his face as he tries to rip into the great man
@nathanspaghetti Several 🤣 I may have went a bit too hard but tbh I dont feel any different days later. Carlton is my second favourite team and I love Walshy and hope he wins a Brownlow this year but it felt like he'd been advised beforehand by the PR team what he needs to respond in the best interests of CFC.
@@craigslater8227 completely unsolicitied slander, go to bed.
