Drones can have stabilization algorithms that allow the drone to be controlled by force, while keeping the drone from rapidly spinning. The algorithm in this one probably did not allow for a complete control, which is why it messed up and flipped due to oscillation.

At the altitudes this thing will likely be going at, a parachute won’t save you. There won’t be any time or space for your chute to deploy and slow you down. Best to ditch it and just accept the risks ❤

You might not have fallen off if you didn't panic, the ball only affected one of the motors you could still have balance if you didn't panic . You could have gotten seriously injured bro. All you had to do was just add prop guards that's all, nice job on the drone though.

I think the fan is fixed and it propell in one direction - May it swing and adjust to keep the vehicle horizontal. 2. A nozzle type guard which also guides the air in direction to create more force. Another idea which just stuck now. A main propeller at center for giving force to go upward and side propeller just for balancing. It will be safer i think

Interesting - the controller's PID loops can handle the drone, but the human+controller's combined PID loops created uncontrollable feedback. It's like if every rotor had its own control and its own PID loops.
First super cool project - I'm sure it took a ton of head work. Maybe gyroscopic sensors (at each motor) that detect anomalous wobbling and feed a microprocessor (like an arduino) or even a rpi, constant signals that allow a brief machine-assist "takeover" to stabilize the ride. You'd have to be good at coding though I wouldn't know where to start on that part.

If the propeller guard is used then natural intake of air from upward and downward thrust force will reduce.

Maybe gyroscopic sensors (at each motor) that detect anomalous wobbling and feed a microprocessor (like an arduino) or even a rpi, constant signals that allow a brief machine-assist "takeover" to stabilize the ride. You'd have to be good at coding though I wouldn't know where to start on that part.

Прикинь была бы защита и мячик бы попал внутрь и заблокировал пропы. Или делать сетку как у шариков для обследования канашки, но тогда надо ещё моторов, эти и без защиты на пределе воют.

Exactly. Its not uncommon for drones to have glitches that cause them to fly away uncontrolled. Now imagine a controller glitch with this that causes it to just go higher and higher until the battery runs out 💀
