7:12 the better clip in the whole video imo like Son Seung Yeon sang with so much health while the other woman gave grit & power. They perfectly complemented each other 😁😁
The other woman is called Seomoon Tak and is the main Son Seung Yeon influence. She is one of the main Korean female references ever. Her Tina Turner-ish voice is just killer!

Does anyone still use this outdated thing? Sohyang can sing a C6 anytime, but even she has actually lost support on E5, and when I mean support I mean what actually it is, being able to control the note you sing, which 90% of good singers do.
@@loafytofu1525 Read everything I said, I said she can easily sing a C6, I'm not saying she can't support E5, I'm saying that sometimes she doesnt, and since you're not a fan of her(which I am), you would know that sometimes she doesnt support well her E5s in the end of Fate(인연), specailly if she sang a lot of harder songs before, there are some great performances of that song, but also some where in the end she goes flat on the last E5.
@@Changmin200 you said she lost support on E5, which makes it sound as if she lost support from there onwards- thats why I was confused. I'm aware she doesn't support all her notes all the time, that's impossible and also something we know for a long time.
@@Nandrianina-l7q The west praise notes for it's depth and clarity. Which mostly lies within the B4-E5 area (or lower if you're of a lower voice type). It's honestly preference. I like both though, they are all beautiful ;)
The first six seconds of the video would make a perfect scene where an evil teenager character is crying and loud sounds of wind and ancient chanting drown her voice out slightly as her ancestors wich she has failed take her soul and magic effectively killing her. Basically Davina's execution from the originals
Fantastiche! Confermate?
Is just that western in general has this thing about men speaking like basses, and women only singing high notes in head voice, in asia this is almost nonexistent.
*sighs* I know I'm gonna sound really unpleasant but I think that this kind of obsession for "the higher, the louder, the beltier the better" is tiring me a bit. Now it's just those big high mixes and sustaining them for so long that they have no coherence to the song and no creative value. What makes a vocal a vocal legend is not entirely the perfect belt and power. Impossible vocals are vocals that nobody is able to recreate, anybody who can train and sing and have their range can pull these B5 belts. But what belters lack to be legends are: emotion, dynamics, agility, creativity, voice paint, simplicity, variety, musicality. I haven't seen a lot of videos from this chanel about these other things, and I think they're missing a lot because this is not how you enjoy singing for music and not just singing for singing. We also are too used to heavily edited live vocals where we miss the humaness of the singer: flat notes, sharp notes, deviation, slipping from a note that make a performance REAL. If you see Singer China 2024 everything is not edited at all and you feel the real humaness of a performance, where I think there's a lot less belting but is way more interresting since you have a bigger palette of singers with different styles.
GOING HIGH UP AND TALENT IS ONE THING, WHETHER OR NOT IT'S NICE TO THE EAR OR EVEN NICE AT ALL IS A COMPLETELY ANOTHER THING. GOOD SINGING SHOULD NOT BE ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT YOU *CAN* HIT HIGH NOTES, OR IT SHOULDN'T BE ABOUT A *COMPETITION* AS TO HOW HIGH YOU CAN GO (BOTH OF WHICH ARE THE CASE HERE), BUT RATHER, SINGING IS ABOUT *THE SOUL* - FULL STOP!
@@lorenzoalfredo6923ikr? Im very dissoponted with dimash when he did concert here in malaysia.. it did not reach my expectation… i was excited waiting for him to slay the high note in his famous song S.O.S but he did not, he dodged the note😪🥴
They sound pretty similar. There isn’t a lot of variation with their looks, same with their voice. Black hair, pale skin, asian eyes. Voices are clear and high. Whereas with americans/europeans, there is a tremendous amount of variation from olive to tan to fair skin, hair could be black or brown or red or blonde and there is different degrees of variation for each of those colors and they could have brown hazel green blue eyes. And with voices, I am sure no one could could mistake Mariah’s voice for Patti LaBelle’s voice or Christina’s voice to Aretha, or Ella Fitzgerald’s voice for Whitney. For these korean singers, I probably have to be very familiar with them to distinguish their voice. Too high of a voice it lacks weight. It’s not the kind of belting that really amaze us. Like literally, they could be belting a B5 and it’s not giving us chills and whitney could be belting a B4 which is an entire octave lower and it’s amazing.
These Korean singers like exploring their range

Ali and Park Kiyoung are both underrated. Most of their performances in Immortal Songs are legendary, as are Sohyang's.

To think that C6 is in SoHyang‘s supported range….
That natural vibrato in a C6 is a proof actually that she really support it very well

I feel like most of East Asian female naturally have lighter voice, plus with the training they got that's why they can hit all these crazy notes
