I have a Rockman X100 and it does give me the "Boston" sound. You can get the on ebay but they usually need to be rebuilt and they still cost a fortune.
I would really love to know the effects you used on this as well. Rockman used to be I think what Boston used. But I've researched this and it isn't available anymore. Any help is greatly appreciated.
@dferg1204 Just playing through an older Johnson J-Station amp emulator into a mixer. Set the J-Station on the "Rectifier" amp model, and just used a touch of delay... and the usual compression and distortion of course... thx
Tom Scholz didn't play the solos in long time. One of the only places where Barry Goudreau played. You will notice the same style on the intro and exit solos to Don't Look Back which is the only song on that album with Goudreau playing lead.
Really, really like your interpretation from 1:10 to 1:20. Of all the YT versions of this I think you nailed it…sounds like what the band did on the original. Well done.
I can't get enough of this video. You played all 3 solos so well. Keep up the good work.
Awesome man! About time someone showed a lesson from this perspective! Love it!!

Great job and the tone is awesome.
Nicely done. That's an album I listened to a ton in high school.
You really nail all of these solos! I'm a fan!
Lovin' your channel man!
Awesome job on these killer solos !!
Fantastic!
@dferg1204 you can get Rockman's on ebay but you can duplicate (or come close to) that sound with almost any multi effects processor these days.
it's Barry Goudreau !
Excellent job, thank you. I didn't like the angle of the camera at first but I got use to it. Great Demonstration!
Excellent

Tom Scholz was amongst my all-time favorites.
That last bit is one bunch of shreddy stuff, love it. Did you think Tom really used the pick to slide that much in the last solo bit?
What effects are u using to get that sound?
YOUR TONE BRO SO SPOT ON
I like your regular camera angle better, but the solos are on point as always!
Great job. That lick at 1:06 is epic.

Are you laying on the floor? haha
