I use the idea 1"ask me, ask you" a lot and it's really useful, but instead of just asking the questions and then swap questions. You could probably ask your students to make one question and then swap the question, but in order to really help your students speak English more, you might make it more interesting by giving them more questions to answer. For example: Student A gets a question "Do you have a girlfriend?", he answers the question and you stop him and tell the whole class that "do you have a girlfriend?" is the key question and I want class to ask a few more questions around the key question like (if he has a girlfriend) "What's her name?/ what does she look like??does she like listening to music, etc.) or (if he doesn't have a girlfriend) questions become (why don't you have a gf?/ do you think you're good-looking, etc.). it's going to be more fun for sure.
Hi Lee Lee - Thanks for this - it's a nice idea, (although I might feel a bit uncomfortable asking about such a personal subject so publicly). Doing it with questions that you can ask the whole class makes it a bit less centred on one student, perhaps? I think that these things always depend on your class, though and how well you know them :)
Oh, of course. It so depends on your class, but you still can ask a lot of different questions such as "where do you come from?" ( small questions around :do you love it?, how long have you been living there?) "can you swim?" and "what do you want to do for your family?" I think you can also help them to be aware of asking yes-no questions and wh-questions. What i really mean is INTONATION, ma'am! And this idea works well for small groups of 4-6 anyway, your ideas are amazing. I learned a lot, thanks a lot
Hi, the idea of dice and envelope is pretty brilliant and simple to perform as well to generate student's interest and push them to participate effectively or to gain time while other students come, however I want to know if it should be related to language item I'm going to discuss later throughout my lesson or it can have nothing to do with that? I am doing my first CELTA TP in 2 weeks, I am the last in the group, we're doing a text, the trainee before me will have introduced the text and the characters (quick reading}. I' ll have to do the intensive reading and answering questions part+guided discovery vocabulary (finding meaning by matching). Should I apply all the rules i.e..(elicit,drill ..etc).Any tip/advice is most welcome. I will be teaching for the first time ever!
al -adaniyah it's a bit difficult to answer this without knowing what you are teaching. If it's your firstTP, I'm sure that your tutor has given you quite detailed notes for it. I'd try to follow these and if you're not sure, ask your tutor and they'll help you- that's their job😊. I hope you don't feel that I'm fobbing you off but your tutor is on the best place to help you. Good luck with it- I hope it goes really well 👏🏼

Is it "a dice" or "a die"?
both are possible. I belive die is american though.
