Thanks Theo for taking the time to share your notes. You are fantastic at explaining what's in your mind. This video was extremely useful for me and I'm about to start the CELTA course in one month. Cheers!

Fantastic video. You solved my confusion about MFP. Before I thought that meaning is just the literal meaning of the grammar or the word; however, after watching your video, I know that meaning, in this case, stands for context. Thank you very much mister. Good job!

I haven't done the course yet but I think this is one of the big things they look for--to always make sure you explain a word in terms of simpler words!
Even "candle" is probably a bit suspect. Wouldn't most books have a picture?

Dear Theo, I'd really like to thank you for having posted such an extremely helpful video, as it is filled with great ideas about both teaching and learning English. As a non-native speaker of English, I also thank you for helping us improve our listening skill. May you and everyone everywhere have a lot of peace, joy and harmony. And yes, we're all looking forward to your new posts.
Thank you very much, indeed. Muito obrigada.

I remember trying to teach the word 'candle' to an 'all Arab Students Class'. Just I as began to draw it on the board one student started singing "Happy B'day to you...'

The match explanation uses much too much teacher talk time don't you think? Why not just hold up an invisible match and strike it, it's quicker.

    Hi Theo.
I loved your videos, I truly appreciate your efforts on youtube. You have helped me so much on my own CELTA journey.
I was wondering if you have a few moments to help me decide what are the 'names of the structures' of [he must understand Spanish] and [workers must obtain permission].
I would say they are both called 'present simple modal'. Is that correct?
    Your sincerely.
    Julie
