I love the Oribe Gold Lust shampoo and conditioner. It’s so intense, but so lightweight at the same time. I plan on getting the Royal Blowout and the Supershine, just in the travel sizes.
Jenifer Larson I tried the masque, but it tangled my hair. It doesn’t have silicones, so I’m guessing this is why. I want to try the Beautiful Color shampoo and conditioner. Do you find that line strictly moisturizing or both strengthening and moisturizing?
I love using the moisture and control mask overnight, then the next day shampooing w/ the gold lust shampoo (skipping conditioner, because like you said.. after a mask I feel it's just a bit too much) + mixing a few drops of oribe's damage repair or hydration drops with r+co bleu's surreal serum or the supershine cream! makes your curls really defined and shiny!! I've been really enjoying the new invisible defense spray for days I don't really have too much time to fix my hair, I'll just mist it in after shampooing and conditioning and let it air dry!! I feel like it's moisturizing enough for me! :)
Yes!! I love adding the Oribe drops to my Supershine cream (just for that added boost 😜). The M&C line is probably my favorite (especially in the winter when my hair is drier). I have my eye on trying some of the new R&Co Bleu products. I heard a lot about the line before it launched and it sounded really interesting so I need to get my hands on a couple products to try. Any recommendations?
Hi! I love the Gold Lust line! I actually just used it yesterday when I washed my hair. For my personally it gets a little heavy if I use it every time so instead I’ll use it 3-4x a month. Gold Lust would be perfect for you and so would the Moisture and Control line. You could even alternate them or use the M&C shampoo and Gold Lust conditioner. You could even do the Moisture and Control mask once a week or once every other week (I love this mask way more than the Gold Lust!) As for your hair shedding it will continue to break until your hair condition improves but in about 2 months you should have a big improvement. If your doctor allows, try Hairtamin vitamins. I LOVE them. They are vegan and I’ve noticed a huge difference in my hair. My hair is thicker, stronger, and much healthier. I hope this answered your question. If you have any other questions please let me know and I’d be more than happy to answer! ❤️
Jenifer Larson thank you so much sister 🤗 I just wanted to order Oribe and was confused on if I should order the moisture control or the gold lust line I will order both the small bottles and try them both then go for the big bottles God bless ❤️
Thank you! If you ever wanted to try something from Oribe, for your gorgeous natural hair I would stay in the Moisture and Control line (green packaging). Oribe partnered with celebrity stylist Stacey Ciceron (who also has natural hair) to develop this line.
Hey! Loved the video☺️ just wanted to ask, which Oribe shampoo and conditioner have the strongest smell? I really love when my hair smells nice all day(and few days later😂) so was wondering which line to buy?
Hi Nika! I’m the same way. I love when my hair smells good. All of the Oribe products have the same smell (from shampoos to styling). The smell is definitely on the stronger side so you’ll love it. One time when I went out to eat, I sat down at the bar and someone 2 seats away from me made the comment “ooh! Someone’s wearing Oribe! It smells so good.” Haha it was me 🙈😂 and the funny thing is I didn’t even walk by them.
Is the Moisture and Control line too much for fine hair? My hair IS bleached, and I fear that Gold Lust may be too heavy for me (and I don't want to OD on protein).
I think it would be too heavy. Gold list might be too heavy for you if you have baby fine hair. I would go with the Alchemy line. That one isn’t heavy on protein like gold lust and is designed to strengthen your hair. It’s definitely lighter in weight than the moisture and gold lust line.
Hi, I’m suffering from breakage and very dry damaged hair due to a hair dresser using improper bleaching methods. I recently cut about 8 inches off and had it professionally dyed back brown. I’m still experiencing breakage and hoping it will stop soon. :( I’m using the Olaplex line as my protein once a week. Would the Moisture and Control shampoo and mask be the best choice from Oribe? I want something more moisturizing so I can balance out the protein. Also I wanted to get the Super Shine moisturizing cream and a heat protectant. Would you recommend the Royal Blow out or the Soft Lacquer Heat Styling spray? Thanks in advance for your help!
Oh no!! I’m sorry to hear that! I’ve been in your situation so I know how you’re feeling. It will take months for your hair to heal so just be patient with it. I personally don’t like Olaplex but that’s just me. Here’s what I would recommend: Moisture and control shampoo and conditioner Gold lust shampoo and conditioner (this is high in protein so it’ll help to repair your hair but you would only want to use it 1-2x a week). The moisture and control mask would be a great alternative as well. I would use the mask instead of conditioner. If you use conditioner and the mask your hair might feel heavy. Supershine is AMAZING!! It does have heat protection in it but if you wanted an extra level of protection I would get the Balm d’Or. Royal blowout is great as well. I personally don’t recommend the Soft Lacquer to people unless you are a stylist. It’s VERY sticky so you have to make sure you apply heat to every part of your hair otherwise it’ll feel sticky. I would stay away from all hot tools. No curling iron or flat iron. If possible just let your hair air dry or if you can’t then Just blow dry it. I also wouldn’t use hair ties. If you need to tie your hair back opt for scrunchies. Your hair is very fragile right now and tight hair ties can make it break off more. I would also try to only wash your hair twice a week. Over washing your hair can make it dry out. Just remember when repairing your hair, less is more. You don’t want to overdo it with products or styling. If your doctor approves it, I would try take a hair skin and nail vitamin. My two favorites are Nioxin hair, skin, and nail vitamins (white and purple box) and the Hairtamin Advanced Formula. You can find both at Ulta. I hope this helps but let me know if you have anymore questions. 💗💗
Thank you so much for the input! I’ve been trying to wash my hair only 2x a week. I work from home and do not use any heat unless I need to go out. If this happens then I will use a flat iron on air dried hair. Would you recommend the Oribe Balm D'Or, Royal Blowout, or Oribe Mystify Restyling Spray for the extra layer of protection given what I’ve told you? I’m definitely going to get the Moisture and Control shampoo and Mask. Do you feel olaplex is damaging to your hair and that’s why you don’t like it? I’m terrified of protein overload right now. I’ve been told it can make your hair feel like glass and break even more. I’m also planning to purchase the Supershine Moisturizing Cream. Thank you for letting me know it has a heat protectant! Have you heard any good things about the Oribe Serene Scalp Thickening Treatment Spray? I’ve had A LOT of breakage around the crown area and my scalp doesn’t always feel so great now that I’m washing my hair less. Would it be worth getting the Oribe Run-Through Detangling Primer as well? Thanks again for your help! I’ve already spent a small fortune on my hair. These products are pricey and I want to make sure I’m getting the correct ones given my situation. I have switched to silk scrunches, sleep on a silk pillow case, and am taking hair vitamins, collagen powder, and fish oil from a company called 1st Phorm. I did consult my doctor and she also prescribed me a prescription multivitamin to help out.
Of course!! So I don’t like Olaplex bc I feel like it dries my hair out. I don’t like the way it makes my hair feel. Plus I hate the smell… it reminds me of toothpaste 🙈. For heat protection I would say Balm D’Or. Mystify is great but it’s for restyling your hair. So if you’re on day 2-3 you would spray Mystify in your hair and it would deactivate the products you put in your hair from day one. It doesn’t have any dry shampoo ingredients in it so it won’t absorb oil or clean the hair. You do need to hit it with heat for best results. There’s many opinions on protein. However, protein is good for your hair. Your hair actually needs it but if you use heavy protein products and styling products everyday you’ll notice after a little while your hair will feel heavy and it’ll dry out a little bit. I wash my hair 2x per week and will use the Gold Lust line every other week. Protein will help to repair your hair so if you get the gold lust line I would use it once a week for a month then maybe switch to once every other week depending on how your hair feels. I love the serene scalp line! If you feel like your scalp is itchy, dry, raw, or clogged with sebum the shampoo and conditioner is great! The shampoo will cleanse and lightly exfoliate the scalp and the conditioner will soothe the scalp. The treatment is great if you need something to soothe the scalp. The tube has a glass top which makes it super easy to section your hair. The thickening spray just makes your hair feel thicker but I think you could pass on that products. If you’re having scalp issues I would try the treatment. The gold lust oil is great too if you wanted to add a little extra nourishment to the ends of your hair. I love the run through detangling spray. I use it on my daughter as well. She’s got that hair that tangles really easy. The trick with that product is to spray it on damp hair, let it sit for 1-2 mins and then brush your hair. If you try brushing your hair without letting it slip it won’t do much. You have to give it time to detangle. On the days that you use the mask, you may be fine with just using run through. I have normal hair and if I use the mask and supershine on the same day my hair will feel too heavy. As far as supplements go you’re taking all the right stuff! So keep up with that. On average it takes your hair 3 months to repair itself (or at least so it doesn’t feel like a broomstick).
Thanks again! Your recommendations have have saved me a lot of $$. Should I invest in the Oribe Conditioner for Moisture & Control or just stick with the Mask given my current situation?
No problem! 💗 that’s honestly up to you. I have both the conditioner and the mask in my shower. I go based off how I’m styling my hair for the day. If I want to blow it out or use hot tools I use the conditioner. I’m just going to wear my hair casually I use the mask.
I love the Moisture and Control (green bottles) or the Brilliance and Shine (purple/blue bottle). If you are highlighting your hair regularly and it’s drying out from damage, then I would go with the Gold Lust.
It is! DEFINITELY don’t use Suave on your hair. That won’t help it. 🙈 But if you think your hair is more dry than damaged go with Moisture and Control or Brilliance and Shine.
Ah yes Oribe makes some excellent products. Oh yeah I would not use a mask and conditioner together. This mask sounds incredible. And the Run Through detangler REALLY sounds good, my hair gets tangled VERY easy, it always has, it was a horror show as a kid 🤣 I so need to try that Super Shine I do have a problem with frizz. Great reviews here I am so tempted to try a number of these products. Good job 👍 and new friend hope we can connect and looking forward to more like this! 💕 😍
If your hair tangles you’ll love the run through! I use it on my daughter who has really long curly hair and I now have no issues when brushing her hair. It’s a lifesaver! The Supershine is my oribe holy grail!! I love it so much!!
