There is also a rarer fill pattern. Accented bass drum on steps 1,4,7,9,12 and 15. Closed hi hats on all steps. Crash cymbal on steps 7 and 15. No swing ( straight 50% ).

@@basiledaudet5774 I've been looking for it for a long time but couldn't find anything on the internet, even the original Tr 909 instructions don't contain any information about the percentage values of the 7 shuffle levels.
Then I was lucky enough to see a video from Honeysmack (Behringer Beta Tester).
In the short video he sets his Tr 909 to shuffle level 7 and lets the Tr play the pattern, then he sets Rd 9 - 75% swing and runs Rd9 with the same pattern.
They are almost identical in shuffle/swing.
Added to this is my knowledge that the Tr 909 definitely has a triplet shuffle (always 66%).
The rest is pure math as we know that Stage 1 of Tr 909 has no shuffle so 50% swing is Rd9.
That leaves 25% swing (50 to 75) divided by 6 remaining shuffle levels = 4.166666
Since I wanted to program the Rd9 as authentically as possible, it was very important to me to reveal the swing / shuffle secret and I am happy to be able to help you and others with it.
Small tip: 125Bpm / 58% for the classic house swing.
When you hear that, you know what great reverse engineering the folks at Behringer did.
The Rd9 is a Tr 909 for 349 euros. Point
Anyone who claims otherwise has never heard and programmed this machine themselves.
      Have fun ;)

@@basiledaudet5774 Another Tip: The Clap of the Tr 909 has no global accent.
But the Rd9 has a global accent.
Just don't use it to programm the Rd9 if you want it authentic.
      Have a nice day.

Bonus question for geeks..who programmed the drums in the original tune? Graham ? Andrew? Darren? Martin? Gerald?

Since Gerald is a bit sore about this classic track (he's written about his time in 808State a bunch), I'd assume it's Gerald!

Truly thank you. This track means a lot to me and now I can program the drums thanks to your charts. Awesome. B. PS I don't own either the Roland - 1 is for sale for $9000 in my home town in Australia atm - or the Behringer but it is a more affordable AUS $475. Must get 1. 😊
