I absolutely love this wrestling game. My late friend and I would always make ourselves as a tag team with ICP paint on and play this to no end until he finally got No Mercy.
I remember my uncle surprising me with it for a present and to this day I remember the ridiculously excited feelings. I remember being at my uncles with it so I couldn't play it tell I got home obviously and I remember just reading the booklet over and over and staring at the back. It's crazy how much excitement warzone and attitude gave me.
We all been there bro lol. I remember when I got the Smackdown know your role before my PS1 broke. I would look at the back cover and booklet everyday tll it got fixed lol.
That's crazy reading your comment just brung back good memories that I completely forgot about well not forget just had not thought of them in years my uncle as well got this game for me for me for my birthday and I also could not play it until I got home that whole weekend I was with my uncle I couldn't sleep or anything because I was so excited to get home and play this my uncle passed away in 2011 it was nice reading your comment and having that memory brought back
Adored this game back in the day. Made memory cards overflowing with CAWs, everything from WCW wrestlers to comic book heroes, then my friends and I would set up whole PPVs and Rumble matches and leave all the wrestlers on CPU. It was like getting to book our own federation and then watch it play out, cheering for the CAWs you made and booing the ones you didn't. To this day, the first thing I check in any new wrestling game is if it'll let you set all wrestlers to CPU, in the hopes of recreating that magic.
Best thing of WWF Attitude was the custom CAW entrance music Acclaim made (something super rare for a wrestling game). Still listen to "Eye of the chicken" even to this day! 🤣 Oh, Legends of Wrestling Showdown was also literally the final game Acclaim ever released too!
My favorite rasslin game as a kid. I remember my cousin and I huddled around a fat TV constantly pausing and inputting button combos to do moves lol. What a time.
Mark Henry had different music depending if you had "Everyone" or "Teen" selected. If you select "Everyone" it plays his 1997/98 music. If you select "Teen" it plays "Sexual Chocolate"
Hell yeah man and now as a very grown adult I can tell you I've been having to use my imagination A LOT while playing it but boy does it bring me back lol

Thank you so much for posting this video, it means a lot to me and brings back lots of great memories playing this with my best friend
Absolutely cover Def Jam brother brother, two of the most enjoyable fighting games of that era. Aside from that, just gotta say your work is 🔥🔥, sub to a lot of channels but only have notifications for a few, including yours
Wrestling Bios, I just want to say thanks for taking me on a trip down memory lane. Because I haven't played this game in decades. The last time I played this was back in 2000 on the Dreamcast. :)
I remember all these games with fond memories! Was pleasantly surprised by def jam vendetta on ps2 back in the day and would love to see a video on this, awesome channel my man.
I actually really enjoy games with repetitive elements like the constant grind to the top of the roster or having to conquer and defend territory so I have always loved this game. This roster is my childhood.
WWF Attitude holds a special place in my heart, because this game is what got me into wrestling (I had watched some of the Hulkamania era stuff as a kid, but mostly tuned out through the new generation). I saw an in-depth preview for the game in Nintendo Power... and it just kinda clicked, so I tried the gamer out and started watching Raw.
I remember having this on N64 while my cousin had Warzone on PS1. I actually enjoyed this game despite the controls, this was the first WWF game that IMO had a nice sized roster along with full entrances. It was a game changer IMO until THQ started making WWF games and created WrestleMania 2000, No Mercy, and the Smackdown series. And yes you should definitely do a review of the Def Jam series
i loved to play the n64 version. the coop career mode was awesome. buttered tons of hours into this game with my brother. also the move set editor was insane👌 some day we saw the acclaim ecw hardcore revolution n64 game, which was basically the same like wwf attitude but with some more gory match types and the ecw rostee of course ♥️
15:33 I started playing the DreamCast Version about 5 months ago and the 1st thing i noticed that was different was the Intro Song for the game, the main menu photos & the entire arena when i 1st started playing, i was like this right here look like something you'd see in 2000/2001 wrestling games or something. DreamCast really was ahead of it's time.
Ahhh, my first ever wrestling game. Loved creating my own arena and going through the theme song library, including the random non-wrestler ones (think one was called Agent X or something, and had the lyrics 'I got my eye on you', which I remember jamming to particularly)
There was more love put into WWF Attitude game than any modern day 2K. At least the wrestlers did their own voices and grunts. And the crowd chants actually get you hyped.
Still so nostalgic for that menu theme 😍. Can't believe this game came out in 1999! These reviews are making me feel old but thank you for the trip down memory lane.
I’m so glad he’s going in order. I didn’t play any of the wrestling games he’s reviewed so far but am intrigued by them. I’m just waiting for the first wrestling game I ever played Smackdown Just Bring It. Which if I’m correct came out in 2001
i played this game so, so much back in the day. still have my original copy for the dreamcast but haven't played it in ages. thanks for covering... oh and yeah do the def jam game if you can :)
Loved the awesome CAW stuff and the custom ring and arena set ups. Loved playing a fatal four way hardcore iron man match. I also remember creating the entire ECW roster in the CAWs
There was something about the slow pace of the game that holds a special place for me. That and this being the only wrestling game with the greatest Taker theme of all time.
One of my earliest memories of wrestling was this game my uncle owned on the original PlayStation.. I had a WCW game on N64 and this game alone made me switch from WCW to WWF. I could not get enough of Austin, The Rock, and Kane and the prematch trash talk
@@Marcus_shawnthere both good no matter what even though in warzone you can't pick your opponent or know how to finsher its not on the pause screen you have to look it up online atleast one thing warzone doesn't have and I'm glad it doesnt and that's no two on one or three on one handicap match

This is still my favorite wrestling game. I remember buying it new and loved that they did everything perfectly in it. And it's even better when you have everything unlocked. Still play it to this day. A lot of new wrestling games could learn from this
Honestly, I think the Language and blood settings were one of the best things added. It allowed you to drastically change your experience. I mean, I enjoyed both versions but it's awesome that it was an option. It'd be great if newer games used this and based it on the console parental controls. I wish WWE itself would return to the Attitude Era mindset - have RAW be risque and leave Smackdown to be family friendly. Additionally, Attitude offered much more in regards to style. You can easily tell whether you're playing Attitude vs War Zone just like Wrestlemania 2000 or No Mercy. Tbh, being able to claim that you can so easily identify the game by the style seriously says something about the game. If you masked the differences in characters between several of the Smackdown! games, you'd be hard-pressed to truly tell the difference.
LOL Smackdown was only quasi family friendly in it's peak years. That first Thanksgiving special was not cool to watch with grandma and the aunts that's for sure.
I remember how big of a leap warzone to attitude was, fond memories of messing with the alternative costumes. And then a year later we get Smackdown. unbelievable.
Oh and; PLEASE review any of the Dej Jam fighting games! Your commentary is flawless, and those games were all hilariously fun. I had a friend who would spend hours on Fight for NY just accessorizing his character's sweaters.

At the end of the video you said you would cover some other games if there was interest and I just want to say, I will literally watch any video that you put out. I don’t care what the subject is. Your videos are always interesting. Thanks brother!
I remember when this was released and my local HMV (back when there was a HMV in every town LOL) had this on one of their demo units... So I could be playing the game for 30 mins to an hour everytime I walked into that place. Had both WarZone and Attitude and played them to death, but, I couldn't in 2021 though...
I used to own the ps1 version infact I started out with the ps1 version way back in around the year 2000 when I first played it but I decided to just stick with the n64 version because I don't have to wait for loads I never knew the n64 version existed until a few years ago but found it was better for me because didn't have to wait for loads to be honest I don't even know what the dream cast is probably before my time or just didn't grow up with it
I got this game when The Rock was super over. Whenever I played with the Rock, he would always come out to jeers, I forgot this came out when he was heel.🤣
No this came out when he was already a face but the game was originally supposed to release in March that year when the rock was heel at the time but got delayed and was supposed to release in June but got delayed again until finally in August when it finally came out
So, I don't usually comment on RUclips videos, but I wanted to say you're doing an amazing job. I've watched several of your videos now, and I want to say I really appreciate the way you speak and present your videos. So many RUclipsrs have this overly professional way of speaking that sounds like they're presenting a Powerpoint, but the way you talk sounds so natural. It sounds like a friend is just chatting with me, and that makes your videos really addicting to me. Also, you mention a charm for War Zone over Attitude that you couldn't place, and it's funny because I feel the same way. For me, I think the reason is because War Zone feels 'punchier' if that makes any sense. I lot of the moves feel 'heavier' and more impactful, so it feels a bit more 'real' to me. For me, Attitude always seemed a bit 'light' and floaty by comparison. Moves don't have that same omph and impact as War Zone had. Keep up the amazing work!
I would LOVE a Wrestling Bios vid on the Def Jam games. Aki knocked it out of the park with those, especially when you consider the weird theme of wrestling rappers.
While I remember this game having a ton of stuff in it, I actually think the look of Warzone was better. Might have been the camera angle. The characters in this game feel smaller.
These wrestling videogames videos are absolutely amazing, unlocking many memories playing with my brother, Warzone, Attitude and the N64 games, which are the top dogs of wresling games: WCW NWO World Tour, WCW Revenge, WWF no Mercy, WWF Wrestlemania 2k. You should check out the WWE games on PS2, they are pretty good too

Warzone: Released in 1998, looks like 1997 WWF. Attitude: Released in 1999, looks like 1998 WWF.
Yeah that's how it works
Def Jam would be awesome honestly, Thanks for doing this one btw this was my introduction into Wrestling Games
I used to own the ps1 version infact I started out with the ps1 version way back in around the year 2000 when I first played it but I decided to just stick with the n64 version because I don't have to wait for loads I never knew the n64 version existed until a few years ago but found it was better for me because didn't have to wait for loads to be honest I don't even know what the dream cast is probably before my time or just didn't grow up with it
Great Game! Please do a video on ECW Anarchy Rulz also by Acclaim
I rented this back in the day...after playing Smackdown. Let's just say this game didn't stand up well after Yukes started with the Smackdown series.
Yeah, it was the same with all the consoles. It was good until a better alternative came along.
Still have my original copy for PS1 and play it occasionally. It will always be 1 of my favorite wrestling games just for the sentimental value.
The Rock uses the Nation theme with language on Everyone. And his awesome theme at time with the language on Teen.
Thank you good Video. Enjoyed create mode & play against friends a lot.
Can't wait for the No Mercy video. Still the best wrestling game ever made.
Can't wait for those Def Jam videos! Loved playing them on the game cube freshmen year of college
So wrestlemaina 2000 gotta be next ?
...Also known as the No Mercy template
This game holds a special place in my heart since I got it and couldn't stop playing it. BTW, please do the def jam series!!
I remember there was a lot of hype for this game before it. came out the game came out when the wwf was at. Their peak
At the time anything with wrestling attached to it would sell by the number.
You should check out the WWE games on PS2, they are pretty good too
I remember the worst person go fight was HEAD. That character used to cheat their ass off! It was annoying trying to unlock 😂
