Even though im a big Nela fan, i prefer Aurelie's interpretation in this. The nuance she made in 1:27 was so good it gave us a message that she feels sorry for Des Grieux and that showed the break in the momentum. Sylvie's interpreted it to be happy dancing alone and i did not like it. There was a mistake by Nela at 6:44 but what i love about Nela's interpretation is her making eye contacts to establish the existence of the other characters on stage. Nela looking at Fede seems she was not sorry at all, which is the opposite of what Aurelie portrayed towards Bolle.
Guillem forever! DuPont is hard and takes herself too seriously. Nela nails it but lacks the playfulness that makes Sylvie such a joy to watch. Thank you for a wonderful video.
Nela, hands down. Her strength and fluidity are the most natural. She personifies the character exquisitely. Furthermore, she actually does the correct choreography.
I'd join the - - standing ovation - - for Marianela Núñez's Manon - - which I feel she has danced it quite beautifully- - with Federico Bonelli❗️ Thanks again - - for sharing with us - - these wonderful ballets - - @ DL B.
In my opinion, Dupont seems a bit too sad, Guillem seems a bit too happy, and Nunez gets it just right. None of them went too black swan with it, which I appreciate.
Tremendous dancers, but for this particular role Dupont is the only one who manages to capture the quality of Manon as I personally understand the character. There is something so rich and discreet about her acting, full of elegance and vacillation. Perfectly conveys the atmosphere of 18th century Paris in my opinion, and of the quandary that Manon has put herself in. It's courtly, aware of its power and absolutely calculating - yet far from unfeeling. Indeed there is something aloof about it, intentionally so. Manon is deep in a scheme at this point in the ballet, and what is not more aloof than a scheeming person playing with forces beyond their control? This is not an innocent young woman removed from avarice. The set and costumes are fantastic as well.
First of the musical score provides the very sensual and tragic themes of the ballet (and opera). That being said each dancer made the difficult variation her own: Ms Dupont: elegant Ms Guillem: powerful Ms Nunez: calculating They are all memorable. Thank you for a distraction from the from the morning chores. 💖💖💖Your videos are always welcomed.
Sylvie and Marianela's version are so much more expressive, I find Aurélie 's too stiff, but that was her last performance before retirement so maybe that might be why, although I always find her performances a bit cold, she was still an excellent ballerina
As usual when the Sun « Guillem » appears all the stars disappear… Despite her supreme technique, the only one who personified the character of Manon (a very young girl under 20, full of joy AND energy) is The legendary Sylvie Guillem , THE Maria Callas of Ballet. Unfortunately she can hardly be approached even by the greatest Russian dancers ..😢
Aurélie's arms are so elegant, as well as her feet, and her interpretation is refined, in every emotional and artistic detail... the way she nearly does'nt finish certain movements, etc... beautiful and fascinating. Sylvie is fresh and energetic, sharp and playful, she has innocence in her seduction, always beautiful and delicate. Marianela... does'nt touch me at all, it seems to me that she is on the surface of things.
I love Nela but this isn’t her role. She’s too sweet and happy and robust. Manon should always have a tension between romantic idealism and lascivious avarice. Sarah Lamb captures it perfectly
Guillem, Dupont and then I guess Nunez. Guillem and Dupont capture the characters easy, flirtatious manner perfectly. Nunez does that weird thing with her mouth, leaving it partially open half the time, which I guess is meant to show the characters lack of concern with breathing through her nose or swallowing a fly. It's something bad actors do, pick a physical quirk to somehow build a character and then only rely on that throughout the performance. Nunez is always terrible.
All 3 were sensual and made the role their own. A joy to watch such beautiful artists!

Guillem is my favorite but all three are great artists of course.

@@sabrinatscha2554 Dupont is a prima in all she does.
Hope Precious Adams dances this one day, her arms are gorgeous - she’d be amazing in this.
Yes, I noticed how expressive her arms were when I saw her recently in the ENB's Raymonda'.

Obviously, Nela. She is perfect in technique and interpretation. No doubt, she is the best. Thank you, Nela, for your art

Gracias!
Marianela the Best
Guillem 👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
Sarah Lamb is one of the absolute best in this role, in my opinion!
Love Aurélie Dupont. She is magical.
Thanks!
Thank you so much, once again 🙏❤️
Guillem 🔥👏👏👏👏👏
Guillem❤
Oh wow! Wasn’t even close in my opinion- marienella’s dancing was out of this world!
Sylvie is supreme for me! She is a beautiful dancer
Personally nela 🤍
Guillem fabuleuse, ma préférée et de loin :)
Always Nela
Marianela Nuñez and Tamara Rojo are the best

Pas photo Aurelie devant .;;tellement chic
is there any digital copy of the full ballet?
You can find two versions on Amazon, these two are the most common: (Rojo, Acosta) amzn.to/3Q8gAvc - (Lamb, Muntagirov) amzn.to/3cOMVsl

I love the aesthetic of this dance. The costume. The vibe. Everything is perfect. DuPont is the best.
Aurelie execute les pas, Sylvie s amuse.
Nela ❤❤
Guillem quì con Massimo Murru, bravissimo De Grieux
SG est sublime comme tjs, Dupont est antipathique comme tjs, et Nunez est juste dans le ton.

Sarah Lamb captures it perfectly
the best, Isabelle guerin, is missing ...
DuPont! ❤️
Dupont always makes me cringe, she’s taking herself too seriously and it shows in all of her roles
Marianela Nunez for me. She was beautiful. I thought Guillem was a bit lax. Ugly hands not finished off.
