Assalaamualaikum Dr Awais, My son is 19 yrs old. He had nephrotic syndrome ( MCGN) diagnosed at the age of 4, treated with steroids and mycophenolate and in remission for the last 10 yrs. Since then his annual tests had been normal. For the last 3 yrs, his creatinine has been increasing by 0.1 ever year. Creatinine now is 1.3( last value was 1.1 in May, 2023.) Microalbumin creatinine urine ratio in normal, calcium 9.9, urine analysis normal. His weight 55 and height 180 cm. I would appreciate your valuable opinion.

You should resume taking your flomax. Gouric has nothing to do with flomax. And please try to avoid such experiments with your medicines. You should rather come back to Pakistan, see your nephrologist, check all your blood work, and restart all your medicines.

Many things can raise creatinine like this. I am not sure about the details of your father's illness, but you should do a new visit with your nephrologist for urgent evaluation.

My son is 19 yrs old. He had nephrotic syndrome ( MCGN) diagnosed at the age of 4, treated with steroids and mycophenolate and in remission for the last 10 yrs. Since then his annual tests had been normal. For the last 3 yrs, his creatinine has been increasing by 0.1 ever year. Creatinine now is 1.3( last value was 1.1 in May, 2023.)
Microalbumin creatinine urine ratio in normal, calcium 9.9, urine analysis normal. His weight 55 and height 180 cm.

You should resume taking your flomax. Gouric has nothing to do with flomax. And please try to avoid such experiments with your medicines. You should rather come back to Pakistan, see your nephrologist, check all your blood work, and restart all your medicines.

Many things can raise creatinine like this. I am not sure about the details of your father's illness, but you should do a new visit with your nephrologist for urgent evaluation.
