- In this episode, we've hit our first port of call... Georgetown, Grand Cayman! Join us as we check out a ship excursion called "Cayman Shore Snorkel" over at Don Foster's Dive Center, with guides Leah & Carrie. Then we head back to the ship for some lunch, a pirate-themed dance party on deck, pirate-themed trivia, dinner, and... needlepoint?!
We're off on our first one-way cruise adventure aboard the Carnival Breeze for its repositioning from Galveston, Texas to Port Canaveral, Florida! We sailed from September 16-30, 2018 on a 14-Day Southern Caribbean itinerary with stops in Grand Cayman, Aruba, Curacao, Grenada, Barbados, Dominica, and Sint Maarten. This was a Carnival Journeys cruise, with all sorts of extra throwback fun to be had...

Funny, we always say before every cruise, "maybe we'll go to the club this time" or "we need to do more comedy" and then we tend to fall right back into our groove, ha ha... We love the comedy shows, but sometimes the other stuff we want to do gets in the way!! :P
I laugh out loud so many times watching your videos! My husband ‘n I can be 👵🏼👴🏻 too. Some nights on a cruise you just wanna chill 🛏📺🚪🥪🥛🍪... and some nights it’s 🍹💃🏻🕺🎰🍕.
Heck yeah! Vacation how you want to vacation, we always say. We have no shame in admitting that we're taking an evening in and watching TV... toward the end of the 14 days, we started crashing a little earlier, ha haaaa... :D

Thank you for the footage going back to ship, I was showing my 4 yearold grandson the video seeing what he thought and is excited about one day going on a cruise, maybe a few years our of course. I asked if he wanted to see the ship and he said "Yes" so I backed it up and when he saw it he said "Oh my Gosh!" LOL Thanks again for the great VLOG!
Aww, cute! Thanks so much! That's one of my favorite things is taking a tender boat or a water taxi or something, and being able to get footage of the whole ship from afar on the water. Love it!! :D

The soup was actually pretty good! We saw a lot of new soups on the menu for this sailing, which was a nice change of pace! And wow, both hashtags at once?! Nice!! :P

Wow that was a first..the Breeze was looking a little beaten up. Time for a paint job indeed. Seems every ship that goes to Texas takes a beaten.
I noticed that on our close-up shots from the tender. Beautiful ship though, and we enjoyed our first sailing on her! I'm sure they'll slap some exterior paint on there probably now that she's moved to a new home.

Yea people just don’t realize the sprint at goes into all this content and editing. I’m thinking out upcoming cruise on the pride in not gonna film. Justbgonna go back to photography. But yea grand Turk was AMAZING Snorking.

That is the good thing about cruising, you could do needlepoint or nothing! However, I don't see why you could not do the needlepoint elsewhere, like in deck 5 where they have seating areas looking at the beautiful sea, as well as in the upper open decks!
Not that there is anything wrong with staying in your cabin...
Ah, that's true! I think it was about 8pm and dark outside at that point, but I guess we could have strolled up there to peer out into the darkness, and at least hear some waves go by, ha ha... Dee has been having some back/hip issues lately, and sometimes it does her good to lay down for a while, but they do have the pool lounge chairs too.
So once going to Mexico to an all inclusive, Brandon left his wallet at home in the car, and once we went to Chakanaab in cozumel and he forgot it in the safe in the cabin... so no money at all!!! Ive never seen the taco bowls. They look great!
Oh wow, that's no good... gotta have that cash money, ha ha!! :D

I had plans of watching each day, but my computer had to go to the computer hospital for a couple days, so I am not caught up with you two. You are so funny with your needle point projects. When I cruise, I am alone, so when I have days or evenings that I do not find anything exciting to do, I go back to my cabin and work crossword puzzles or play games on my Nook. That is all relaxing to me and sometimes we need to do that when we have had a long day. I love those bags you got. Dee, where did you get your top? I love the black and all the tropical colors. Have fun and I will catch up with you tomorrow.
Oh no, I hope the computer is better! We love all the free arts & crafts that Carnival offers, ha ha... she really got into that needlepoint action. Dee's evening top is Old Navy, surprise surprise... she should really own stock in them at this point!! :D
I was afraid she was going to say she got it at the thrift store. My cruise is not until April, so I may hit Old Navy in the meantime. Thanks for answering my questions. You are so good at that.

Seems like it, ha ha... nah, they've got probably a dozen real channels to watch, plus all the built-in ones about things going on around the ship. Most of the commercials are in Spanish, which amuses us. We tend to put on some mindless cartoon and veg out though, hah!!
@@parodeejay They are really trying to discourage chilling in the room watching TV. I watched more CNN than I had planned on my cruise, which was before they took away the Miami TV stations. Plus these aren't big screens.
Oh wow, if they take away our We Bare Bears, Powerpuff Girls, and Teen Titans Go, what will we do with ourselves?! Haaah... that seems like all we ever put on in the background...
Where did you get the socks from? They are all so so cute!
Oh mercy, I started collecting socks from all over the place a while back and it has become a trademark now, ha ha... mostly online shops, but I used to find good comfy funky ones at Kmart back in the day!

We did this in 2015 one of the girls refused to wear flippers. It was tough dragging her around. I managed to keep up but it was hard. I was 70 at the time
Oh wow, the fins definitely help on an actual snorkel excursion. They're weird to get used to at first, but I wouldn't be able to get anywhere without them, as I'm definitely more of a floater than a swimmer. Glad you were able to help her, but yikes! Well done!! :D
Carnival will no longer call it tender. The new name will water taxi.
Ah yes, I saw that on John Heald's page and thought it was a joke at first. "Water shuttle". Ehhh. I guess they're actually changing it for those folks who aren't familiar with the term "tender".

I wish, ha ha!! We don’t get to cruise quite every month, but we usually have to limit our travels between November and February due to other work constraints. We can’t go anywhere in the summer, so we do try to pack a lot of excitement in those four months or so that we get to travel, and only recently have we started trying cruises in May or September. Branching out a little bit!! :P
Jack and I are going on our first ever cruise December 2019. Hitting a few of the same ports you have on this trip. We are sooo EXCITED!. Your Vlog has really answered so many of our questions. And it's generated a ton more. So looking forward to your next vlog. Cindy

The one we got is a brand we'd never heard of, called Vangogo. It was on Amazon, but they don't seem to have any for sale now. I found the same model on eBay here (www.ebay.com/itm/VANGOGO-180-Full-Face-Snorkel-Mask-Gopro-Mount-Anti-fog-Anti-leak-Technology/392126264080) but there are a ton of cookie-cutter full-face masks that all seem about the same, in the $25-$30 range.

We'll be on the Carnival Horizon visiting Grand Cayman again the second week of November, I forget the exact date. The cruise starts on November 11th, I know that much. :D
I will be leaving November 11th but on the Carnival Magic I thought i was going to see you guys.
Ah, the Magic is a great ship. Hope you have a fantastic cruise!! I still need to check to see what other ships will be in port with us, but who knows… We might end up in Grand Cayman on the same day accidentally, ha ha. :D

Old Navy! Love em!! They don't have the pink in stock right now, but they have some other colors. You may be able to find them on Vinted or Poshmark or similar too. I see a pair of the pink on Poshmark still actually, listed as "Gold And Rose Gold Sunglasses". :D

That's awesome! We're supposed to be near Seven Mile Beach when we come back to Grand Cayman next month. We've never been to that part of the island.
