Great thing about cameras nowadays is that you can get pretty much the same imagery from different camera brands at lower costs. Great time to be alive as a filmmaker.
While I agree, it's a great time to be alive as a filmmaker...AND that you can get a lot out of many different cameras, the RED Komodo has such an amazing look to the footage. Sure, you can get nice shots with a cheaper camera, but RED has a "look", and it's one that I happen to enjoy.
Starting with the voice of John Hindhaugh... boy you sure know how to put me in the moment. The voice of the WEC. Miss those days. This video is bonkers good. SO DAMN GOOD. The grade is phenomenal. The blues during the rain add the grit of motorsport in those circumstances. I can almost smell it. Pace is great. Music is great. Flawless.
Wow this is impressive on many levels. To mention just a few: the sound design is beautiful, the sheer number of short clips edited in a way that makes relatively static shots feel very dynamic, and as always fantastic composition... very professional! I would love to get some insights into how you work in the Resolve timeline to efficiently trim, rearrange, and organize all that footage! Bravo!
This is awesome...I've been trying to document our local endurance series and it's such a struggle as a one-man run-and-gun setup. How many camera operators do you have for an event like this?
@@joenicklo Thanks!! Would you recommend the 24-70 & 70-200 sigmas with it? I like the 18-35 / 50-100 look a lot, but seem it vignettes on Komodo, so looking for an alternative FF. The autofocus doesn't jitter I assume? Do you use autofocus when you shoot, or are you pulling focus manually?

Pretty good for low light. I was thinking this or the fx6
People often automatically think that because it’s not a Sony it doesn’t shoot good in low light. :)
Love the video. I did something simular a few years ago at the Rolex 24 Daytona except mostly on an iPhone 7. And not as good as your film.

Nice nice 🏁
Thanks! 👍
Beautifully done!
Thank you very much!
Incredible work! Subscribed! Was this shot RED raw + HQ?
Thank you. It was a mix of MQ and LQ. I didn't shoot HQ at all.

Thanks! Glad you liked it. I filmed this solo. Normally, I’d have 2-3
Great job! Does the 24-70 sigma and 70-200mm sigma work with the autofocus on Komodo?
Thanks! Yes the AF works

What shutter angle were you using and what frame rates?
180 and/or 360. 24p/60p/120p
No Tokina for this? 😱
Not this time. I had not purchased the 25-75 when I had shot this.
