What did Gavin mean by a staple? What the hell happened down there?!
He was unfortunate enough to go through testicular torsion, which is essentially where a testicle gets spun around and causes the spermatic cord to twist. It's excrutiating; I believe Gavin said it was like getting kicked in the nuts, but the pain is constant. The surgery required to rectify this problem involves cutting the scrotum open to physically untwist the testicle and the problematic testicle is then secured to the inside of the scrotum via stitches or staples to prevent future occurences. Testicular torsion with Gavin (Rooster Teeth)
***** still, the fixation of the testicle to the scrotum's wall is likely intended to be permanent. After all, it is that last part of the surgery that's meant to prevent any future recurrence of torsion. Once is more than enough for a lifetime.

They're taking applications but at RTX on the podcast panel they said they were getting either 100 or thousands either weekly or daily (I have a bad memory). So it's pretty much impossible to get in without knowing someone.

lollymarbles he had a testicular torsion. Basically sometimes one ball can flip around inside its sack chamber and it's very painful and also can result in that testicle dying. I think it cuts off blood flow or something like that. Anyway, Gav got it at some point and they fixed him up before any damage happened. Dunno where the other guy is getting the uniball thing from.
