A Farewell to Gabo and Mercedes: A Conversation with Rodrigo García

Listen as filmmaker Rodrigo Garcia and Dr. Álvaro Santana-Acuña discuss Garcia’s recently published "A Farewell to Gabo and Mercedes," a memoir of his life with his famous parents, the Nobel laureate Gabriel García Márquez and Mercedes Barcha. Rather than focusing on García Márquez’s celebrity, the program will instead center on the intimacy of the family household.
Dr. Álvaro Santana-Acuña is the curator of the Ransom Center’s exhibition Gabriel García-Márquez: The Making of a Global Writer, on view through January 2, 2022, and author of "Ascent to Glory: How One Hundred Years of Solitude Was Written and Became a Global Classic."
