    Trumpet and Organ ... one of music's greatest duos. This is a lovely piece by a great, though lesser-known, composer. The trumpeter is just superb.

    Great performance. His music is blended so beautifully by the acoustics. Based on the scarf worn by the organist and the heavy winter coats seen on members of the audience, the church must have been very cold. Brr... he could only wear a suit and was surely uncomfortable. That's tough on intonation and dexterity, but he made it work!.

    Superb artistry. Virtuosic in performance, beautiful tone, lovely tempi for the 1st and 2nd movements, would perhaps be more enjoyable if the 3rd movement were a little slower. He is an important talent in my opinion.

    This trumpet player makes it seems as if Tartini's trumpet concerto (transposed from a violin concerto) is a walk in the woods. I heard Maurice Andre', the greatest trumpet player of all time (in my opinion), perform this live in 1979, when he was in his prime. Difficult to match the simultaneous 1) brilliance and 2) effortlessness, a combination I never heard from any other trumpet player. But this version is really really good. The performer seems in complete control technically. There is a brilliant even tone and effortlessness in the higher register. Maybe he is too modest, but I would add more coloring and contrastive accenting mimicking more of the human voice, as if you are talking to another human being in a persuasive manner, though with getting romantic and syrupy. The execution is flawless. But why make it seem as if you are in a hurry in the sense of: I already know I can do this, so let me quickly show you once more no sweat; look mama, no hands! Very well done. How he can be that agile using the lowest portion of his fingers on the valves is unique.

      His teacher is Andre Henry. And Andre also uses the lower part of his fingers, so probably is not wrong…..

    great young player! This trumpet player has a good career ahead of him.
    The organist seemed to not have the notes at his command. Almost like he didn't practice the piece.

    • @michaeltroster9059

      Stan Smith Not so sure about that. It has a very long lead pipe which is characteristic of a Yamaha trumpet they no longer make called the “ long model”. I have one.

    What is the make of the trumpet? Is the bore size larger than older piccolo trumpets, Selmer for instance?

    • @AindriasHirt
      @AindriasHirt 4 года назад +1

      Dorian B. I hear you. I remember Marice Andre doing this with perfect intonation. This is also not a trumpet concerto but an oboe concerto. Still he's pretty good for a young player. I wonder if he can play on the natural trumpet?

    Nice for a young player. Someone needs to tell him that reading music as a soloist is a big no no. This should have been memorized.

      the purpose of playing Music is to translate the message of the composer trough your instrument...look at Maurice Andre for instance!! I always saw him on the stage with this music sheet!! even if he played Hummel concerto trillions time!!! there are no rules...you perform the way you like...the way its more comfortable for you!! that's it....

    Mladý trumpetista má ještě hodně práce na intonaci,ale jinak je velmi talentovaný.Bohužel varhaní doprovod je v podání varhaníka plný chyb jak rytmických,tak nezčetně mnoho překlepů a to vůbec nepodpořilo solistu spíše naopak.
