Yep. I'm on board with the small vents also. Don't mind the Big Gulp. 😂 But the smaller ones will look smarter. Top work again. That was executed brilliantly.
Another good suggestion, I had thought about doing those but quite liked a great big gulping mouth look, I think I may have overdone it slightly though 😆
**See Thumbnail didn't read title** "oh cool a 911" click video brain goes **yep thats a real car** then 0:05 seconds in... the brain dun farted because i was like "wait... was it an RC car..." the perspective made my brain fart. cool project tho
I like the smaller vent. You might try a duck tail on the leading edge of the vent, I think it would result in low pressure behind the duck tail helping to draw air out of the vent and it may be aesthetically pleasing.
Constructive but unhelpful critique ... I think the vents slightly spoil the line of the bonnet (although the smaller ones are, perhaps, easier on the eye than the "kitchen sinks"). I suspect if this had been my project, then I'd have tried a way to find a way for the air to exit beneath the car or into the wheel arches
Excellent video Andy. From my basic understanding of aerodynamics the exhaust end of ducting should have a higher surface area than the intake end otherwise the airflow through the duct will be less than optimal. I suggest you don’t go too small on the vents. Perhaps leave them unpainted until you’ve roadtested them. Or have pop-up vent covers operating off a temp sensor? That’d look cool…. 😊
The wents gives a statement, but as you self said in the end, little to big for my taste.... The thing you also could do like lowers, so you can hide the outlet more than the route your about to go, just a sudiection from my side..... Really nice glas work, maybe do a overlay of a nice carbon on top... Now I think you can find carbon with inlays of another color and that could match the color on the rest of the car... Good job!
I like the idea of removable caps so you can go big vent or small vent. no idea if this could also assist with controlling coolant temps in winter/summer? fantastic video and craftsmanship!
Rudi here watching and following your channel from South Africa. Please allow me to make a suggestion in that you should have a look at the Porsche Slant nose examples. Perhaps you can incorporate the vents on the wheel arches to serve two purposes namely creating airflow through the radiators and exiting above the front wheels, also leaving some extra vents for the airflow around the wheels exiting? Keep the headlights as lights as is... Anyhow just a suggestion to try and keep it as close to the original as possible. Anyhow job well done so far!!!
You have made a lovely job of finishing the inside of the vents. I 100% dont think you should cut it and leave 30% on bonnet and rest insode the tub as it will spoil the clean look when you look inside the vents, and lets be honest you never have the front open on these cars anyway. As for big vents vs small vents, could you make them removable? That way you get best of both worlds and on hot days if the car os struggling a bit then allows more air flow.
Smaller vents for sure - feels like it would be better aerodynamically too, although I'm all out of wind tunnels and CFD software! ...also, great to see a fellow Swann Morton user. I'm a 10A bloke though :)
Great work. You make it look easy. I like both versions. I think the larger would be more colour dependent than the smaller, where the smaller are a safer bet.
Good call on the smaller vent opening. Looks great. Excellent craftsmanship too. 😀👍👍
Thanks buddy 🤩
Very good Idea on the smaller vents looks great !
Thanks Jonathan 🤩👍
very good stuff !!!
Thanks!

Thanks D.W 😄👍
What about a louvre outlet covers ?
Another good suggestion, I had thought about doing those but quite liked a great big gulping mouth look, I think I may have overdone it slightly though 😆
The more subtle openings look much better, crack on!
Yes sireeeee 😆 🫡

Brilliant update mate, well done. I do like the smaller vents, having them removable is also a great idea. Looking good.
Thanks bro! Removable vents is an interesting idea I hadn’t thought about before!
Grate work Andy looking forward to your next video 👍
Cheers Paul. 🤗

Nice idea, that ducktail was suggested by a friend of mine too. Makes sense to kick up the air up and over the opening 👍

All criticism welcome here! You may well be right, I have a spare bonnet, if it looks too horrific I’ll run with your idea.

All good ideas thanks Nick 👏

Thanks Tony, all good suggestions! Thanks for watching 👊

Nice idea yeah! Thanks for your input 👌

Thanks for your input Andy, yeah that’s a good point about splitting the vent. Removable is a good idea I hadnt even considered 👊
Yep that works. Wasn’t sure at first. Get in lad.

Ok that’s 2-0 for the small vents then! I find the 10A too small myself 😆
Great work. You make it look easy. I like both versions. I think the larger would be more colour dependent than the smaller, where the smaller are a safer bet.
Totally agree. Gotta be body colour inside 👍
You could always have the smaller vents you're fitting removable in case you want to do a track day or it's extremely hot weather
Nice idea, hadn’t thought about that! 👏
Smaller openings look better
Cheers Paul 👊
