It took them only 10 years to make it 🤣🤣🤣 I LOVE Tool. Top 10 bands for me. They don’t release new music much but when they do, it’s worth the wait that’s for sure.
Most of that time (13 years actually) the band was caught up in lawsuits with their previous label. Plus they all have other bands, Maynard has the vineyard in Jerome, Adam does his thing with art, animation, etc… They didn’t need to do this record at all, which is why it came out so brilliant. It was 100% authentic & it resonated with the listeners. And you know Tool fans, as picky & analytical as it gets but many will call this one their masterpiece.

When I first saw TOOL live, this was the song they opened with. It was AMAZING live! It was like being on psychedelics whilst having a spiritual experience. They are not as big as they should be.
They are HUGE in the metal/alternative circle. There isn’t a rock music enthusiast who doesn’t know who Tool is. True, there are some who say that Tool is not their cup of tea. That’s because they don’t know how to actually LISTEN to them. I always use the example of Tool being a fine wine. You want to listen to them in “sips” (like wine) rather than gulps.

I saw them in MPLS a few months ago. The crowd is dead silent when they perform. There's no moshing or anything like that. Everyone just sits and listens to the art being played in front of them. It's a surreal experience hearing them live.
I love Tool seen them live one of the greatest bands of all times, if not the best. That being said it is not a great band to start out on for many "normies" when it comes to music. It is very unique, skilled and out there. It's actually hard for a lot of people who know basic 3 chord progression songs to listen too. It requires work on the listeners end to truly enjoy it. You can't just pop it on in the background and understand it, which sadly is how ALOT of people are used to listening to music. You have to pay attention. I've found much better success with my normie friends to introduce them to other stuff first, and slowly work your way toward Tool. If I start out with Tool there is a high percentage chance they say something along the lines of "I can tell they are skilled but it's too weird for me" Just my two cents! Have a great day.
@@davecapton3373 Not really, Tool is one of my favorite bands but listening to them first would definitely not ruin the experience of listening to other greats because every great band offers something different than every other one.
I was fortunate enough to see them live late 2019 before the pandemic and they are so good. I remember this song specifically with the drums going off and feeling it in your chest. Epic night to say the least.

In the video you asked what their process is when writing songs. All of the music is written first and then they give the finished compositions to MJK (the singer). He then writes words to the music and then they arrange to form a completed song. Love your channel and reactions dude. Great stuff!!
I love ToOL and I’ll admit as much as I love this album I preferred their older material, however when I saw them live and they actually preformed these songs--from this particular album--it added a whole other element to the music. These songs were out of this world live! It was just a straight up spiritual out of body experience and changed my opinion, lol. Great reaction, I especially felt 7:00 😂😎
React to the live version of it they show the process of the drumming its absolutely crazy to see all the little sounds are coming from one person drumming. It looks so simple the way he does it but yet so complex because he's hitting so many different drum patterns.
I have seen Tool live twice now, two of the best experiences I have ever had. If you ever get a chance, you have GOT to see them live. They put on one of the best shows I have ever been to.
Intro alone is repeating measures of 14/8, 12/8 and 7/8. I almost killed my brain trying to figure it out and finally went to other technical sources for the breakdown. When Maynard sings pneu-Ma, the Ma is actually on the downbeat. Blows my mind....................
I wish I could experience this song for the first time again. Pneuma doesn't have much lyrics, but they helped me through a very difficult time in my life. My gf broke up with me and I wasn't doing great at all. This song helped me calm down. I am so grateful for that.
Luv it when people find out about the greatness of Tool. Little radio & TV because songs so long and some lyrics not radio friendly. Rare interviews, but sellout arenas all over the world. I just recently found out about their music, because they just started streaming their music a few yrs ago. Their song 7empest won a grammy and the song The Pot was nominated. Some other great songs are Eulogy, The Grudge, Invincible, Descending, 46 & 2, Vicarious.
This album has some of the best engineering you will ever hear on an album. Tool’s engineers are the fifth member of the band. The quality of this production is easily 5 years ahead of its time. The drums, the vocals, all of this is what makes this album special.
From what I understand they don't really wanna be called that Adam Jones called it "Munge" I like to refer to it as post rock despite having no clue what post rock sounds like cuz it just feels like the natural continuation to a mix of all the best aspects of the actually good kinds of rock
Every Tool song is an experience and definitely worth checking out. As someone who has been to a Tool concert, I can say for certain it was the most chill rock concert, an experience in of itself really. There are a lot of artists in modern times that actually make their concerts something you never forget, Tool is one of those bands.
The vibing amd the faces say it all. Great reaction video. I wish I could experience this song for the first time again. Pneuma doesn't have much lyrics, but they helped me through a very difficult time in my life. My gf broke up with me and I wasn't doing great at all. This song helped me calm down. I am so grateful for that.
I’ve listened to it 1000 times and each time I get something different out of it. Try listening to it on a good set of headphones!
Hope you’re doing better now
Luv it when people find out about the greatness of Tool.
"This is like an experience." Says every person who has heard a Tool song.
TOOL is considered to be Metal. This is one of my favorite songs from them! 😁 Merry Christmas Eve!
From what I understand they don't really wanna be called that
Adam Jones called it "Munge"
I like to refer to it as post rock despite having no clue what post rock sounds like cuz it just feels like the natural continuation to a mix of all the best aspects of the actually good kinds of rock
It’s the biggest most peaceful crowd of people!!!! It’s crazy!
If I recall correctly, Tools members will all write different parts separately from each other and combine them. adds to the “all over” feeling
That’s true!
Every Tool song is an experience and definitely worth checking out. As someone who has been to a Tool concert, I can say for certain it was the most chill rock concert, an experience in of itself really. There are a lot of artists in modern times that actually make their concerts something you never forget, Tool is one of those bands.
Would love to see you react to Tool - The Pot 🤘
He’s reacted to it already
I LOVE this reaction to Tool. They are so fucking awesome words cannot begin to describe them, but your body does it for you.
That drop at 11:15 is my all-time favorite. So EPIC! 🤘
Jambi-drop level 😉🤘🏻
agreed. my car speakers quiver in fear as that part approaches.
Danny’s live drum cam footage of pneuma is the best live performance I’ve ever seen. MUST WATCH
Bro in on the first 100! Your reviews are always the shit 🔥
Been to nine of their concerts and there's nothing like it! It's an audio and visual experience, freakin transcendent! Love Tool!
The god damn poly rhythm on this one is madness
I have seen Tool do this song twice: Indescribable. Can’t even begin….
The talent…
More TOOL!
Hands down best concert ever in my life! Tool is always MF’N lit and definitely my go-to music for ✨🪄🍄💫🪐 trips
The vibing amd the faces say it all. Great reaction video. Tool is a league of thier own, im a prog snob and my best friend is iffy on Tool but when he listened to the entire Fear Incolum Album hes a Tool Fan now 10,000 Days is right behind Pnuma for me. Forty-Six and 2 is phenomenal. So many good songs.
One voice. Disguised. We are on one breath. One spark. Slowly becoming. One
